Sorry I ever went to this BS university “professors ” without PhDs or even any background in that which they are teaching. Old and irrelevant rest if the faculty. Faculty of education too busy fighting with each other to give a crap about their teaching. Basically the most pathetic group of “educators” ever. Go elsewhere
I go to this school and im a retard, so to be honest pretty much anyone could go here. its not a very good school
Severe lacking in instructors who know how to apply technique or theory to practical applications. Eg. Instructor chosen to teach introductory Flash Actionscript course taught himself the bare basics one month before teaching the class. Professor chosen to teach introductory class on Maya took a 3 week class over the summer to teach herself how.
Pie-in-the-sky approach to class structure and general course philosophy refreshing, but not practical if one wants to eat in the real world.
Severe lack of support from general university funds – new computer lab is literally a closet with two computers crammed into it.
End of year assignment for 3rd year class – “make a video game” – however, no prior training in programing, or the use of game engines was offered in prior years. 4th year core course assignment was dedicated to making a full game – again without instructions on programing, game engine use and manipulation, adequate access to computers capable of running the required engine, or 3D modeling programs (Maya).
Students are expected to (somehow) teach themselves everything under the eye of inexperienced, but enthusiastic instructors.
Advice: Would strongly caution enrollment if one wants to MAKE video games, but encourages others interested in purely academic approaches to investigate the course.
Summary: Went for 3 years in the IASC program… now I’m qualified to “feel ways about stuff”, but not much else.
