COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) started functioning in 1998, and established its first campus at Islamabad in April 1998. In August 2000, in recognition of CIIT’s achievements, the Federal Government granted it the status of a Degree Awarding Institute. The CIIT, besides its principal campus at Islamabad, has six other fully functional campuses at Lahore, Abbottabad, Wah, Attock, Sahiwal and Vehari, while few more campuses are in different planning stages. On the advice of the Federal Government, efforts are also under way for opening an overseas campus in the Gulf region.
The success of the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology in Pakistan has inspired the establishment of a similar IT center at Damascus , Syria. The institute is granted status of degree awarding institute. Now the institute has became one of the best institute of the country due to its quality education
No doubt, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology is one of the best places for knowledge and is the perfect choice for today’s competitive and challenging world because of its highly qualified faculty members and dynamic administration. The environment provided by the CIIT actually attracts me a lot. Studying in CIIT is no doubt very challenging and it helps you to understand the concepts of modern age.
For me it’s always been a pleasure to say that am a COMSIAN. Its a kind of institute which set me to a specific direction of life. One can judge the hard work and commitment of students and teachers that in such a short span of time it became the number one IT institute / University in PAKISTAN and in short it’s an honor to be called a COMSIAN.

CIIT in recent ranking announced by HEC has been placed at No. 6 among all universities of Pakistan in research productivity for 2011. In February 2012, HEC announced Quality & Research based Rankings of Pakistani Higher Education Institutes based on QS Format, where CIIT has been ranked 1st in the Computer Science/IT category of universities. CIIT is overall ranked No:9 amongst all types of Higher Education Institutes in Pakistan according to HEC rankings of 2012
Beside all the point of view, every picture has a good and bad side too. So saying this that CIIT gives you a hard time, it wont be fair enough because one must care for his/her future.

COMSATS Institute of IT is an Institute in public sector in Pakistan with many campuses in Pakistan including one in the Capital Islamabad. It works under Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South.
It has a beautiful campus with beautiful views all around. There are many Departments here including many fields of Engineering & Management sector and also some Non-Engineering Departments. One of the Program is Computer Science,which has been stated as best in Pakistan by HEC and now it stands 6th in Top Universities of Pakistan.
The quality of study here is good as there are many PhD Professors in CIIT. The campus has wide area with many grounds and many facilities but the part that pinches many students is that the Admin staff is not so helpful. Over all the University is good and has gained attention of many students and other institutes from all over Pakistan.
The facilities provided are attainable and helpful for students and the University gives the best results every year and has kept its name and worth.
