Northern College is scam
These reviews are mostly fake it seems since they have the exact same wording, and same illegible writing style. Someone is clearly upset at the college and ends every review with CAPS LOCK!
Hello I am a mother of a well behaved student that has a learning disability and I have a physical Disability because of an MVA. I live in Toronto GOV’T ASSISTED Housing, Ontario. Hoping to move out. When I found online a College that offered Sciences like my son’s dream for his future? I sent my son off to Timmins College hoping he would make something of himself so that later he may possibly help me later in life. Before going there I gave him a cell phone connected to mine, I also applied to get all his student loans for both the courses and the residence as we didn’t know anybody there. After a month he started changing didn’t even call me for Christmas then disappeared for months and went to KAPUSKASING with his new so called student friends, one being a man in his 40’s Mitch and one being a girl with red hair that has a mother that allows all types of people to sleep in her house, . I called the school several times and all I got was “WE CAN’T GIVE YOU ANY INFORMATION” without his consent.(THE ADULT AGE SHOULD BE OVER 20 OR PARENTS SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE ACCESS TO THEIR CHILDREN’S LIFE). Then in the summer of 2015 I finally found him working at a gas station near the school earning minimum wage, APPARENTLY he had failed the school year in the winter and quit school. Why didn’t the stupid teachers and counsellors just tell me that so that I could go there and support my son? I stayed away to try to give him some space because I thought he was doing well. This is not right. This school is not good for poor Families like mine. They just help us go more into debt. Then Christmas 2015 his bosses at the gas station passed away and the Gas Station closed down and my son is left without a job and I don’t hear from him at all, his account is overdrawn and I am worried about him, the student loan payments are in arrears, and I am still paying his phone bill and texting him and leaving voice mail once in awhile but never hear from him. What the Hell do they teach Students in that School? HOW TO DISRESPECT AND ABANDON THEIR PARENTS? THIS IS NOT RIGHT! I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED TO LOOSE A SON THIS WAY. :-(. AND I Thought he was my best son! This school has no support for people with learning disabilities, this is false information. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED! :-(
The teachers were very rude and hey allow cheating and the requirements to attend must be very low based.they don’t even like to talk to you i do not recommend this place to any one ever. It is a waste of time and money.

They made me but a lot of books I didn’t even use, the teachers were very rude. They allow cheating and the requirements to attend must be very low based on the other classmates I had. NOT WORTH IT!
study really hard and what happens the three people in the back row cheating talking during the test right through the year the teachers seen what was happening but did noting. the student steping all over the professor ignorant remarks from teacher i can’t even say then to preverted. i’m upgrading for my grade twelve teacher hitting on student every five minutes remarks like that should get you fired. walked right out of the college never comming back 5 years wasted for nothing. didn’t even get me a job feel sorry for everyone who applies there. out of 50 students 3 passed the first semester i was on of them highest grade 64 percent enviromental everyone droped it they gave gym instead for the other student to pass. Too much parting i guess.
Northen College there trades program is no good they told me that i was going to get a diploma a diploma i got something that the trades didn’t even reconize not even the college. wasted a year for noting debt for nothing diploma there telling me its worth nothing my Apprentiship went to noting they would not even hire me. The shop manager gave me a block under the school but the level two noting lost the apprentiship because he wouldn’t hire me and that i family too. Pick you college closely the upgrading not accredited wasted another year for nothing going to start another life they ruined my future i’ll let another Cllege get the glory burn the diploma that what i say.
This school is pathetic they recommend a apt for me to stay in and it was all dirty and all crack heads. the admin staff are rude to you and if you are not from there they dont even like to talk to you i do not recommend this place to any one ever. It is a waste of time and money.
This college is very rude i was attending to find employment and the centre where you find employment the head guy was drunk and made fun of my amputation and when i wanted to complain i got a no trespass order wrote on myself. this place is the most non professional place i have ever seen. I filed a HRTO application and in return they have been trying to destroy my life by intruding on my privacy with other government agencies.
This place is the most dispicable place i have ever seen. and if you are from down south you are seen as trash. DONT GO HERE
I attended this scool and graduated with multiple diplomas. This scool is NOT recommended. The faculty and student services are not helpful, and they do not facilitate the growth of your education. The resisdence is inadequate and filthy, it is not cleaned and there is visible mold everywhere throughout the building. If you are from southern Ontario, student services will treat you negatively as they favour student from the area.If you decide to attend this school, you will waste your money and time. AVOID at all costs.

I am currently attending Northern Colleges Pre-service Firefighter program and so far, as a program it’s a joke. The profs aren’t any better and the tuition we payed doesn’t NEARLY seem appropriate for the education were receiving. Everyday my classmates and I leave class wondering what the heck we just did for 6 hours. Weeks worth of outdated slides and teachers who don’t seem to have even read them before…I could literally talk for days about it. Naturally, it has it’s up, but I won’t mention them here because academically they’re irrelevant. One last note; brochures, posters and faculty alike have all said this course is over 70% hands on training. In my experience, not even close! Now that’s false advertising, so if I fail because I chose not to attend a six hour slide show about WATER HAMMER, then I’ll poop myself. It also seems they have no marking scheme so they add professionnalisme and attendance as 30% of your course total which could make or brake you because the skunk line is 70% to pass. I’ll stop before I get ahead of myself…DONT GO HERE. FOR ANY PROGRAM! they also tend to swindle their students for every dollar and make you buy books you never open.,.,.DONT GO HERE
