My Redlands Community College experience was a good one until I attended their nursing program. It was the worst educational experience of my life. The staff could never respond to a question with the same answer, unethical behavior ran rampant, teachers were consistently late for start of classes, and the director arrived at that position by default. No one seemed to know what was going on, and confusion was the course of study. Get it together, Redlands. You are wasting students time and money, with no emphasis on education, only on busy work and trickery. You should be ashamed of your unethical behavior and waste of the governments educational funding. I would have been better off going to med school, where the student receives respect, than wasting my time in a program intent on undermining and dumbing down students with bullying. I was told there’s a lack of nurses because they can’t get teachers, but the truth is the programs are getting away with mistreating women. This would never fly in med schools serious about producing quality doctors, yet, because it’s predominantly women, they are allowed to bully. Not only is it allowed, but it seems to be standard operating procedure in programs nationwide. Women deserve equal treatment, and unprofessional, horrendous nursing programs such as this one abound, simply because they are allowed. Those who constructively criticize the system are flunked out with falsified grades within 24 hours. In 2020, when we are in a state of medical emergency from lack of nurses, I can look back on this school knowing they did their part in continuing “second class” treatment of women. Be shocked and amazed that the Oklahoma Board of Nurses and the Board of Education have not and will not do anything about this abuse, though they have been fully informed of what goes on in the Redlands Nursing program. No Oklahoma lawyer will go against the state, as it is a losing battle. I know because I spent a day on the phone trying. The country will continue to ream women out of nursing programs because that’s how women are allowed to be treated. Sad commentary on a society run by men who don’t have the decency to see that their women are treated fairly. We will not succeed as a society until the nurturers are nurtured instead of abused. Don’t waste your time or money on this joke of a program.
