I graduated from the LPN program at the Broadway Street campus. The instructors I had were very good. They were knowledgeable and cared about the students. The advisors and library staff were also quite nice and helpful. The course was intense though but I felt very prepared and able when I started my first nursing job about 6 months after graduation.
The worst part was applying to my program because the women working at the Broadway campus Registrar’s Office were rude, condescending, bitter, and so unhelpful. For instance, when I applied to transfer credits from university into the nursing program the registrar woman demanded to know why I was going to take nursing at VCC since I had begun nursing courses elsewhere and told me that since I dropped out of UBC, she thought I’d probably waste my time since I would drop out of VCC.
LPN teachers are lazy, condescending, judgemental and very unhelpful. LPN instructors are knowledgeable and instructor’s assistant says he was an LPN but knows very little and is unhelpful.
