Child Pornography: Taboo or Broadening

By   |  December 17, 2008

In today’s society of sexual endeavors with the Adult Entertainment business grossing around $12 billion dollars a year, porn has proven over the years to be both a lucrative and a sustaining industry. The sexual exploitation of such work is acceptable by law and a means of accumulating wealth for many Wall Street investors. This ever so growing industry exploits heterosexual, gay, lesbian couples obliged to performing consensual acts of intimacy usually exposed through video, internet, and graphic images all across the world. Although the FBI has deemed this as  legal and acceptable by law. There is an extreme diabolical approach it has taken by exposing abused and non consented acts of sexual behavior with minors.

Henceforth, the name Child Pornography. The fact that so many kids are being abused all throughout the United States and in various other countries. This behavior is proof that to some degree many people find this acceptable. I myself cannot fathom how someone could even abandon or neglect a child. Let alone commit devious and obscene acts against a child’s will and think it is appropriate. However with the vast cases and instances where authorities have had to intervene on minorities behalf. This is an issue far from being over any time soon.

In some cases law has not even enforced any sort of regulation to abolish this particular offense. I feel by there not being proper laws set to protect these children from such acts of inappropriate exploitations. Our society is failing to address this issue and numerous counts of destroying our youth is at stake. Something has to be done and it’s no time but now to tend to this crisis.

I have heard of numerous cases of Child pornographic behavior being conducted here in the United States. Although there are authorities and other officials seeking a means to stop innocent children from being trafficked, kidnapped, violated in so many forms including having images of adults performing sexually acts with and on these minors. Distributing images across the web visually condemning minors to submissive behaviors.

In Washington, DC in 2006 a new study conducting releases alarming information regarding child solicitation. It was discovered that in 184 interpol member countries around the world , over half of them (95) have no laws regulating against child pornography. In over 138 countries the possession of child pornography is not a crime. In over 122 countries around the world, there is no law which addresses the distribution of child pornography. This is definitely alarming and a shock to anyone whose morally inclined.

It is inexplicable behavior from anyone whose uses their discretion to take advantage of a child in this manner. These persons should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This epidemic has to be eradicated especially at the depth is has developed into this very day. There are too many individuals participating all over the world in these shameful acts of violation of a child’s rights to upbringing. Recent studies have shown that only 5 countries out of the above numbers have made significant impact on the course of eliminating the distribution of child pornographic images via computer and internet. These countries are: Australia, Belgium, France, South Africa, and the United States.

Real Crimes Against Children Reported In Second Life: Linden Lab, the company that develops and operates Second Life, says it will work with authorities to help bring the virtual and real-life pedophiles to justice.

Second Life is a free 3D virtual world where users can socialize, connect and create using voice and text chat.  On May 4th 2007 there was a reported case in where avatars were created and appeared as child pornography. An ARD ( a German television network) reporter presented these photos saying to have discovered them from Second Life’s site. In this article it states “Simulated sex with children is not a crime in the U.S., but punishable with up to five years in prison in Germany”. While sex is still a big part of our culture in America, there is no excuse for allowing child pornography whether virtual or actual to seep into a means to connecting people in a sense of provocative connotations.

This is just a small part of the problem while it may seem indecorous, this issue get’s even more intense. In the Philippines a  country  that  lacks   a law  aimed  specifically at  child  pornography.  There  are  profuse  incidents  of  child  pornography  and  evidence  confiscated  by  officers  of  UNICEF.  For  instance,  a  UNICEF  officer  dumped  the  bag  of  an  apprehended  suspect  uncovering  disk  and  magazines  with  obscured  images  on  the  covers. Maria Ana Consuelo Abad Santos Madrigal a senate of the Philippines remarked translated in English “It looks like she’s four years old, and this looks like an eight year old child, and the four year old child having sex.”

M.A. Madrigal is one of the few people in position of authority over the country of the Philippines who is active in seeking reform and actions against perpetrators distributing child pornography.

Marianne Angana, a child rights advocate located in the Philippines states “With adults, sometimes the children would be shy and wouldn’t share their experiences, but with children leading the sessions, it becomes easier to communicate.” This matter is becoming even more disturbing uncovering doctrines that are testimony to adults reforming children to convert their coequal into becoming initiated into child pornography. Sexual exploitation of children and adolescents cannot be solved by any single nation or organization working alone. Coordinated international action by governments, international organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and communities worldwide is needed to counter these violations against children. Time  is  imminent  to  putting  an  end  to  this  twisted  manner  of  taking  advantage  of  today’s  youth.

Recently, in November 2008 between the days of 25-28. Brazil hosted the World Congress III against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents in Rio de Janeiro. Many Congress Organizers – The Government of Brazil, NGO Group for the convention on the rights of the child, ECPAT International, and UNICEF. Believe that the World Congress III is an important opportunity to renew global commitment, and to galvanize international will and support to combat sexual exploitation of children and adolescents. These are prominent organizations in position of power to obliterate this flagrant crime. As well as partners assisting to increase awareness and impose laws across countries.

More organizations such as those listed above need to up rise in order to sustain ordinance in alliance to infinitely save our youth from such dangers and atrocity. Although we must rely on congress to permit laws and the courts to enact them. It will take more than just authorities to solve this dilemma. Parents, students, advocacy organizations, internet savvy individuals, and citizens of countries and states where child pornography cooperates dwell must act accordingly to ensure this crisis seizes and never arises again.

Justin Berry Says Justice Department Moving Too Slowly To Find Pedophiles

WASHINGTON, April 4, 2006

Justin Berry like many other adolescents his age, older, and much younger are the increasing victims of such foul conduct. To attest to his situation he explains how he gave a multitude of leads to local police and agreed to testify to this in court. From what he expressed in the above statement you can tell how he feels authorities aren’t doing enough to assess this major problem. By that being said I believe that local authorities should be granted the power to further investigate the matter more effectively.

Police should be granted the jurisdiction of being able to facilitate offenses to this degree. If necessary to disrupt the lewd conduct of child pornography. Authorities must be able to counteract this by methods similar to the pedophiles. By posing as a surrogate minor maybe this tactic can increase awareness and stimulate a chain effect within the world wide web. This would also create new jobs for technically inclined persons as well as internet savvy individuals. Even graphic designers who are building new websites can facilitate in the capturing of child pornography offenders.

In some cases there are already people in authority who are impersonating children willing to meet these pedophiles in person and then they are publicly apprehended so the world knows their face and a vast audience witnesses this. For example NBC’s dateline “ To catch a predator” with Chris Hansen. Families need to utilize outside sources as a means to sitting down at the table and talking with their children about potential dangers of sexual predators. In the attempt to stop predators from luring children into dangerous acts of solicitation. We are to behoove adolescents in assuring their safety by any means necessary. Even if it calls for invasion of one’s privacy.

  3. I have a naked picture of me when i was 5…. who wants to see it?

  4. Well, I’m glad I’m not the only one who found that writing horrible. It’s also high level and doesn’t even present a definition of child porn. Who is a child? 5 year olds for sure, but what about 15? Or 17?

Your arguments are vague and lack a decent structure.

  5. I concur. With such poor execution of the English language and failure to proofread, one has to wonder the validity of such claims.

  6. Other than the fact that Child Pornography is an evil and exploitative practice, your writing is barely readable. You use words with too many syllables, often times when simpler words would work. Your sentence structure and grammar is abysmal, and you create confusing syntax in many places. Your use of the first person in combination with your butchery of the English language makes me question the validity of any statements or pronouncements made, as this piece was obviously written by someone who is intelligent but uneducated and therefore invalidates your position. Essentially, you made child porn seem OK by virtue of being a horrible writer.
