The Art of Crack

By   |  March 1, 2009

They say that artists suffer for their art, and that once an artist is dead their art appreciates in value.  Well, crack addicts die for their art to even exist. What you see here will never grace the walls of the Louvre in Paris, or the Metropolitan Gallery of Art.

What you see below is “crack art” drawn or painted not on expensive canvases, but on the feces, blood, and urine stained walls of dozens of crack dens. Rest assured, most of these artists are in fact dead or dying; they’ve paid your admission fee to this art gallery with their lives.

What I am showcasing here is a compilation I am calling a Crack Art Gallery – photos that I have personally taken over the years as a detective from multiple drug busts on various crack dens all around Montreal, Seattle, Vancouver, and beyond.

The subject matter of the art from coast to coast is eerily similar; one common vision of art amongst these “artists” is a common theme I refer to as the “Skull Death Head.”

You should know that many of these pieces of art were not painted with expensive paints or charcoal; many were done with bodily fluids, cigarette ash, and/or markers.

“Welcome to my world” as you see the very, very sad yet interesting images of dozens of photos I have collected over the years that I have witnessed as part of my daily profession.

  9. So you don’t want any wizz then ?

  10. Thanks Antidrug lord for your input, much appreciated.

  11. I frankly believe that drug dealers/manufacturers(illegal ones) should be tried and convicted as murderers, because at the end of all their excuses lies one simple fact, and that is that they know drugs kill, so in effect they are enabling the actions of murder/suicide (whether it be quick or slow) and therefore should be prosecuted on this basis. An easy way of looking at it is like this, if I were to give a child a loaded gun to play with and that child not knowing or truly understanding the consequences were to pull the trigger and kill itself I would be reviled and immediately arrested and prosecuted accordingly, the same is basically true with drugs, they are usually introduced to them when they are young, before they have the clarity of the reality, so they think it’s all just a game or a laugh. This is how the dealers get the addicts that are the basis of their monetary income, it’s all done willfully and with malice aforethought, and that’s why I believe these scum should be treated as killers. On a further note, the very fact that they do this brings into possibility the option of more charges to consider, after all many of the addicts would quite probably gone on to lead more usefull lives, whereas with the drugs having been brought into the equation these people have gone on to commit shoplifting, robbery, burglary, mugging, etc, etc. That in mind perhaps we should also charge the dealers, etc as accomplices/aiders and abeters, and fences of stolen property as well, after if they didn’t do what they did, many of the addicted would not have commited those crimes.
Maybe one day we’ll have leaders and judges who tell the liars, sorry lawyers to stop twisting the law in favour of these scum and will finally cut them off at the knees.

After all that I forgot to comment on the art, I like it, it reminds me of stuff I used to draw(not chemically induced I might add), seriously it helps to remind people that behind the damaged veneer which the public see, there lies many gifts that are being, or have been destroyed, just so that some gutless sad scumbag can sit in comfort, no doubt some a*****e will be offended by my description because they or their daddy deals this s**t, but frankly f**k them.

  12. I investigate and human health risk assessments and do laboratory analysis of crime scenes!
Not as glamourous as some may think!

  13. damn, this is fascinating… what is your job???
