One Student Review of Lamar State College: Orange

    My son and I just attended what was suppose to be a tour of the campus. We were early for our appointment, so I could overlook the fact that Brianna (the girl whom we met with) had a 15 minute conversation with a co-worker regarding things such as.. dogs & sandwhich stands. I could also overlook the fact that she was blatently rude, but after waiting our turn & only a few minutes in her office receiving information we could’ve gotten online we were asked to wait while she had another conversation about table cloths. Overhearing the converstaion, I do THINK this was actually work-related, but so was our tour, & she was more than matter of fact with him as well. If her socializing is any indication of how this school is run I don’t want my son to have any part of it. Naturally we got up and walked out; and the bad part about it, she acted shocked. My son is graduating from a recognized school with an ACT score of 24. Lamar State College in Orange would been a choice for him, not his only option. I was thinking about going back to school with him so it was in the lead on the list of schools we have visited because of the size of the school, cost, & proximty to home. On the up side was the only other two employees of the college we had contact with were super & extremely professional.
