Seriously…this is the very WORST university…I’ve done my UG and PG here at SAP, Anna Uni-fucking-versity….7 years wasted.
During my UG days itself, only those who lick faculties’ boots were visible….the rest of us were just able to barely pass through. And yet again, my parents and family forced me back here saying it’s the most reputed and best there is out there….seriously should’ve joined CEPT or anywhere else but here.
There is just SO much partiality. If you’re even slightly unable do all the chingchang work that the faculties ask you to help with after classes, you get targeted. They not only target you in their own subjects, they gossip with other faculties….and the other dumbass faculties also target you and show extreme partiality.
Lots of my friends and juniors get yearback in every batch, almost…and in our course, if you fail studio subjects, you REDO the entire academic year again with junior batch. Just because the faculties don’t guide you well enough….and seriously, the new Teaching Fellows and Temporary Faculties are horrible…they have ZERO knowledge and yet boss around like they know everything. There are absolutely no facilities (we need to go to ACT campus nearby to fill water) And they target especially those from well-off families…seriously.
Please don’t join SAP or AU….no matter how reputable the degree is…there are loads of better universities in India itself. Too much partiality! (hard work is NO use here, it’s all about boot-licking faculties)

Anna university is the worst university ever. They do not bother or care about the students. After cyclone hit chennai, there has been no notification whether the exam dates have been changed. Students from other states studying in anna uni colleges in chennai are stuck at hostels without knowing whether they can go home or should stay back at hostel for exams. There is no notification about anything. Never go to any anna university colleges.If its related to paying fee they are the first ones to intimate students. Its such a shame. Worst worst university ever.

I have no intention to give even a single star to this money eating monster university…I have completed my school with 90% percent and joined a well know affiliated college where internal marks are strictly evaluated…I manage to push myself to about 17 to 19 internal marks….but the sem results I get is not very satisfactory as I know how i have written….I have no idea how these idiotic so- called teachers are evaluating our papers….one of my friend applied for re-valuation, to utter shock the paper she got wasnt her paper at all and the other one, there was 4-5 papers missing…THIS IS THE CASE OF EVALUATION THEY DO! we work very hard day and nite…our health, money, dream, life is at stake because of this irresponsible idiots who have no idea about what they are correcting….
As every students in here who are pouring our grievances……yes, we are helpless…we know no one is going to look & bother to take action……

This university is one among the university in which evaluation of paper is based on handwriting.. The faculties advice’s the students to use color pens.this is a worst thing..the faculties who are evaluating answer sheets are not qualified enough..then what the students who have no good handwriting are going to suffer.at least try to read those papers sometimes they have written well..don’t discriminate students on this basis..this may even spoil their life so keeping avoiding this evaluating strategy.. This has spoiled my friends life too..so I kindly request you to adopt a better strategy so you can become a popular university.. No red marks will be there

Assembly and college over time is 5:10. I Seen That all Anna University affiliated colleges have 7 period. but here there are 8 period and also difficult to listen last hour
class. And most of the students reaching the home at after 7pm. So we feel difficult to study in home. This college Principal Staffs and torchering the student to compelsary
we have to attend coaching after 5pm to 6pm. Right not students have to complete the record of maximum 6 exercise which have been not practised in Labs. If we ask
Management why we want to complete the record without practising, they will notice the student and put a case on him.

Damn it my college dont have authority to run this department and How anna University Allows these kind of Acts. Now The problem is still am having Maths my arear even i present well .If You are not getting any action i will sue you all in High Court. My frnd got arrear in one derivative paper. she applied revaluation for 300rs. after some days AU sent an apology letter that they mistakenly put arrear instead of 73%.WILL THAT STUPID AU RETURN HER MONEY BACK??????? even myself i wrote all exams well but i m getting low marks in all semester..so my request is plz dont join in this fuking college..and in classrooms prof are treating us like cattles .. they scaring us with internal marks.. we don’t have freedom to think by ourselves.. even prof don’t have sufficient knowledge in subjects. if we ask any doubt to them, they only saying, ” Go and refer books or internet”. They put students under heavy pressure, makes them mentally upset.. There is no neat schedule and management in anna univiesity and their web site.

FIrst of all, dont believe the rankings and come to this college!!! this college is only suitable for those students from village who can mug up and vomit..and somehow get placed in mass recruitment to support the family. This college is VERY biased in evaluating papers.even if you work hard and do well but without good hand writing u will fail. The staff are very narrow minded and do not engage and teach the students. THERE IS NO CLEAR EVALUATION STANDARDS..a paper you do horribly will get a pass and a paper you do very well will fail and they suck money for all the revaluation. do not be fooled by the rankings.
Colleges under this university,staffs highly lacks communication skills,they consider to explain in their mother tongue only and “ENGLISH” if they speak out its like….arrrhhhh!!!!!…n coming to the correction they give only for good handwriting,good decoration of the answer sheet,n most important thing is length of the answer should be must but about the content don’t know whether its right or wrong ….but I have to try my best for the rest of my semester’s so that I could defeat their pattern….

Anna Univ is getting degrading for following reasons..
*one side politicians chop off entrance exams and deduced eligibility marks to full their seats in coll and other side anna univ showing partiality thus students life ruined.
*Rules and regulations are meant for affiliated institutions alone, inside wobbling
* they show a discrepancy in syllabus and treating subjects(they teach nearly 3 units per subject and ask questions from same)
*No quality check for staff, they directly get inside coll without prior experience for teaching.
*Valuations are major ridiculous factor, staff have lack of knowledge about subject, worse correction, playing and commenting inside hall, most of lecturers came for money and on duty, strict for 3 years experienced staff but fresher’s also participating, correction based on paper weight and fancy hand writing not on matter because lecturer not that much aware of subjects so one can write even tamil songs in english and get passed( failures note this point)

Its so obvious that since the M3 paper was so easy . Anna university thinks that the revaluation money cannot made out of this . So the correction would be tough . All i am saying is, correction is the worst one . Ma friend scored 15 and passed in revaluation and another friend scored 32 and failed . Just try to think about every thing not just the money . If possible make this clear to all the staffs , Education not = Business.

The Worst University in India. They were now making money by revaluation. The syllabus is also worst when compared to other university. They don’t know how to set question paper and they will not think “will the students attend this question”. Correction pattern is also the worst part of the university. By this university students will not gain knowledge for their life. They make even the very easy paper to tough. Professors working in the university doesn’t know any thing. Please don’t choose Anna university for any of your studies. If you already entered in the university don’t be disappointed study hard and get at-least the pass mark and do your further studies in some other university. They were thinking that we are one of the best university in India but really it is a worst university. They thought students passed out were good engineers but they had only the name of university not more than else.

These people never understand how students suffer after their graduation, with or without arrears. In case students who have arrears really facing odd time in their lifetime to clear those papers, though parents and faculty were thinking its an easy task clearing arrears. Only who feel the pain knew how to do! In such case some might be working somewhere and just revising the portion at the time he gets to read the whole portion again. There are many issues with clearing a single arrear. Why they keep failing though something is written on the answer sheet. Its easy from your side.

first of all before i start writing this review I just want to shout out.. “FAAAAAAK Anna University and its Affiliated Colleges”
I don’t where to start, honestly because there is so much to be told. Every aspect of this university sucks. To put in simple terms a University run by Mafia politicians and sadists with only one intention which is to make Money and spoil students lives. The Affiliated Colleges are even worser. All affiliated colleges are run by mafia politicians, they really don’t care about the quality of education or the students.
The education quality is below standard. The professors know nothing. At the end of graduation your IQ will be same as a school boy but youll be a more depressed person than ever.
Many times me and my friends have observed that the papers in which we work hard and write well, we are failed in those papers. Whereas a paper which we have written horribly we pass.
I mean a subject paper which we don’t write well we pass and subject paper for which we work hard we fail. I just can’t understand how this can happen. I mean this has not happened always, but at most times this is the way papers are corrected.
I think that, the well written papers are intentionally failed so that those students would apply for revaluation, since they know that they have written the paper well and in turn the university would earn more money in revaluation fees.
The thing they don’t realize is that, they are playing with the lives of students here. Students with lot of big dreams, students who are the future of this country. Sometimes papers are corrected based on the number of pages filled in and on the basis of good hand writing. If you write more pages irrespective of the quality of the content, you can pass. I can write stories in my exam paper just to fill pages to pass. Is this the way education should be? I am really sad at this point, seeing how badly these practices affect student’s lives. I feel students are becoming more depressed by the practices by this university. I hope that Anna university would change in future, but at present in my opinion it’s a very bad engineering college, the education quality is poor, paper correction is bad, there is no real knowledge being gained.

if u want to study automobile engineering . dont fancy that u will be studying about performance enhancements ,piston boring ,v twin engines et al instead the faculty will be whooping ur asses into doing thermodynamics ,M1,M2,M3,M4 and other useless subjects!! and dont even think u will be going IV’s in BMW,AUDI,VOLKSWAGEN CO’S. .. a visit to a nearby mechanic’s is the miracle IV for u .. trust me ..u will know a lot more about automobiles working in a mechanics shop than studying automobile engineering in this university ..
the same applies to all other engineering courses offered by this stupid university!!!

We want anybody to help us and our students. We are studying in a well known Women’s college in Nammakal which is Asia’s Biggest Women’s College. Our Parents pushed us to this college for our safety but unfortunately in 2010 we had a lecturer(Mr.S.Dhanasekaran,M.Tech (PhD)) in our department who spoked friendly and talked very vulgur as time goes and He even induced us for Sex.He touched many of us in our Lab. We even said to our ladies staffs but they are also like us. We are not able to tell anything openly to our management.Some girls believed him and doing many things for him still. He spoiled many girls life already.Some went to attempt suicide. We dont have guts to say everything what he did since all are parents would even die hearing our problem. We all are small girls we had to thought how to face the world in our college but he made us believe him promised many that he will marry them for what he did and left. If we have these kind of lecturers in women’s college we girls would not be able to face anything in future. Please help us from these kind of Lecturers.He wont take class also.His class seminar project everything will be done by anyone.If this continues Soon he will be given doctrate and he will become a Head or Principal of a College and Spoil many girls life. Is this a country of freedom.. Really we feel very difficult to face this world.. We cant even say everything here. After one year only some of our students came to know about him. From his college he is making girls believe and making use of them leaving them and moving to some other place. How a girl will complaint about this is his strength. Now we also cant able to do that but we cant leave him as such. He should be punished. The world should know about him atleast the girls who are still believing him should know that noone can care like parents what he did is only for his pleasure.Please Help Us.. I have studied in Anna university, it was the biggest mistake of my life. Because of which i have dropped and pursuing engineering in a different college. The college reeks of corruption and high flavored attitude, not among the students but the staff. I was constantly harassed and targeted by my department. For absolute no reason, i was failed many times. The staff are sadists, well with a few exceptions. The wardens and other deputy staff like’s to keep the students waiting and make them run around for many days, until a basic need like changing the fan in a room is achieved. My personal respect and image of tamilnadu and its people have been utterly diminished and i have the utmost hatred towards them . No wonder they are taunted and animals and mannerless human beings. It is a scam, it does not deserve to be on top list of engg. colleges, the college basically runs on money and power. If a student has both , he/she can pass their subjects without any worries or can get away with meagre 40% attendance.
Anna University and MIT must come clean from the latest paper valuation scam.Zonal coordinator Mohan must resign and return his money to govt.

i spoiled my life joining anna university..spoon feeding universities.. treating like school children…with nonsense dress codes and useless rules and not letting the students think more than the subject..no creativity is involved which is just suitable for students from remote villages ..some staffs in anna university affiliated colleges are called senior lectures but they don’t seem to have much knowledge not even they can clear students doubts..god save us..i always indulge in quality writing and not in quantity writing so this sem too i may score low grades..i request other students too that they concentrate on subjects and not on marks because we have specialized skills comparing to other students( anna university’s sweet toppers with no creativity skills)…
I just passed out of CEG,i wasted four years of my academic life thats the least i can say. CEG churns out bootlickers and back stabbers than talented professionals. Your grades are not dependent on the exam marks instead how much time you spend with the staff helping them in their project or their administrative work. And what the hell is random grading. The facilities suck,the staff suck,all those well qualified staff are either retired or are holding administrative posts. I got into Ceg with the hope that only the best staff will be there to teach,but people who studied in some s**t colleges get into the job by recommendation or bribe and are decresing the quality of education. One thing is that Ceg is well recognised,if you wanna do masters it opens lot of doors. And dont be in the delusion that ceg has 100% placemnent, 50% of students in mechanical,manufacturing in 2012 din get placed.
anna univ is one the worst univ of india. once u took admission in anna univ, that is it u started spoiling ur future. don’t ever go with ranking. everything in anna univ is wrong. there is no prop time table, not prop correction of papers, avg marking, if u’ve written well & u r thinking that u’ll score good marks but fact is u may get fail. not bcoz of u but they way of correcting papers.

please….do not make the mistake of your life coming to Anna University….i was mislead by the rankings that show up in the magazines…..do not go by them…CEG or in todays terms Anna University might have been a very good college back in the 60s and 70s but not today…..today even donkey s**t is better…
Alright,lets get down and analyse everything in this University…firstly,the most important thing is- this college is the “Stanford University” only for students from remote villages and other cheap s**t Tamil Nadu State Board Schools..believe me….i have known people from those villages who have thought Anna University is the best and have not even heard of the IITs…well now that i guess is a very good insight into the kind of students you would get to meet at Anna University….those students can’t even speak a word of English properly and dont even know basic Math,Physics or Chemistry…not that knowing English is a major criteria for getting into an engineering college but knowing Math,Physics and Chemistry are….they have “0” application skills and have come there just by rote learning for 11th and 12th grades….and so all the students at Anna University are capable of is just to pull rhetorical dialogues from hopeless tamil films and speak them out….what big d********s…..
coming to the classroom scenario….the classrooms are terrible….they have nothing like a cooling system and when its hot,all you can do is make sure you dont melt down to death….most classes which are specifically designed to accomodate a maximum of say 50 students accomodate 100 students plus some wildlife such as monkeys and stray dogs……
talking of teachers…..i have only one expression to this-where are the teachers???????the people who work as profs in Anna University are substandard who personally have no knowledge of anything and i seriously wonder how on earth they conduct exams..the professors are led by the Dean and the Vice Chancellor who are bigger idiots and the Vice Chancellor and his wife-the duo-are the biggest fools on the face of the planet….they are just money making machines with a corrupt political back-up and are in office just to ensure the cash inflow into their pockets…..
apart from this,speaking of extra curricular events,there is nothing such as that…so if you have extra curricular interests just drown them somewhere,make a heart of stone and be prepared to join Anna University…

environmental science subject is common for all dept. tat mainly insist upon how to save our environment from various hazards.but what do we do in our final semester is wasting tons and tons of paper in taking print out for projects,,,is it really necessary ???the world has now moved on to computers and mobile devices…all data are being stored as soft copies..then why not our documents??? a project of three members are required to submit 5 bindings of documents…our mam has told tat the documents must have minimum of 85 pages…if u have 5 copies of tat..just think how many trees are being destroyed each year for this purpose alone,, so i just wanted to share my grievances and expect Anna univ to change some of their rules in the near future….lets save trees by reducing usage of paper to some extent:) :)

“WORST” is one word that I have to use. Marks of students obtained from this university can not at all be correlated to their real talent.
Correction pattern is THE WORST. You get marks for “clean reproduction of textbook content”. Don’t even dare to write on your own words in the answer sheets. You’ll fail for sure!
This is not just with Anna University, but with most of the educational institutes in Tamil Nadu. Especially, those in and around the city of Chennai.
I just feel like repeating again and again the correction pattern sucks big time.

Hi I am a third year student now Anna university as a university has a good name everywhere but i feel the main problem they need to address is correction .I personally feel that the correction is below par,they never correct the answers properly and more marks are given to those who write more pages and this is also encouraged in the college’s too.There is absolutely no substence in the paper but still just like that they will get better marks.The examinations are not exams but basically a game of roulette.

Very Well said “Anonymous” and “Monisha Logan”….Anna University is the Worst thing that happened in my life….All of the things you said are true… But one more point to add is that none complains about it ………At least they should discourage students coming to such sucking universities…But they are giving good reviews…..But only one advantage is that I have learned the quality of teaching universities can offer and i have for a while now researching about the best universities in India….They are almost the same for this matter……I am not blindly putting my view……I know it…..The whole education system in the world is flawed only a fraction of the students can keep up with it…..And then again as my friend once said…..”Through out history we observe one thing that is ….The most famous and admirable characters were (in most cases) not brought up by a university”….The education system never really contributed in that field…..The only people that contributed something to this world are the people who learned to think freely first and break this chain of burden that the education system is putting on……So we must not be disappointed but rather be happy and say “Never again” will i let me or others drag into such educational chaos……

I was a student here, and if you’re reading this, heed my warning, it’s the worst college. They have a stupid dress code, the students are herded like cattle and teachers have no mutual respect or any understanding towards the students. They claim to prepare you for the real world, but they just oppress you with stupid rules and other restrictions. For a english medium college, 90% of the faculty cannot converse in it, and always manages to teach in Tamil, which is very difficult for outsiders. The dean itself racially profiles people and is not understanding of the problems of the students from outside the state. They have no political, student elected, student body. Students have no say in any working of the college. Extra curricular activities are discouraged. To top it all, the courses aren’t great. There is no freedom of choosing electives as most of the time they are forced upon you. Your success solely depends on your GPA and nothing else. The teachers are heavily biased against certain groups and aren’t hesitant in giving arrears or fail grades. Also the college is very gender biased. Infrastructure is pathetic with stuff from the 1950s still being used. Hostel accommodation is beyond the border of uninhabitable and the food in the mess hall is inedible and frequently leads to diseases in students. Correction depends on how attractive your paper is and the volume you write rather than substance. There is no uniform marking scheme, and they will scam money out of you every opportunity they get. I can keep ranting about this place, but it is not worth my time. After 4 years there, i can tell one thing for sure. It ruined my college life, my life, and my academics and left me with a very grim and dim future.
Anna university is very much money minded now a days. They are playing in students life.They not at all go through the papers when correcting, simply putting 5, 4, 3, 6, 2, 8,1 viz randomly in the first page itself. They are collecting money for revaluing the papers. But they are not doing it with atmost care. We are struggling very much in this competitive world to get into the job. And our parents also struggling to give education to us. In this situation how can they do like this. We need only fair correction. We need fair result for our efforts

They never correct the papers with utmost care ;They never have any marking scheme to correct the papers & in addition they never evaluate papers with bad handwriting ….this worst correction has been continuing over several years & nobody has checked them ..that is the reason why their students can never match the standard of a good professional so better avoid this university
