One Student Review of Business School Lausanne

  • My 2 years spent in BSL was a memorable one. My classmates came from all around the world and this contributed to interesting class discussions. My network grew tremendously during this time.

The subjects were taught by seasoned, well-informed professors. My favourite professor was Dr. Pai who was very open and knowledgeable in his discussions. Sometimes, I could not accept his ideas but he had an amazing ability to persuade and convince us due to his valid reasoning. The most interesting and enjoyable part of the classes were the discussions we had. Due to the various cultures present, we did not always agree with each other but this built up my ability to negotiate and present a point.

Overall, I would give 99% of the professors’ excellent ratings. The only professor whom I felt wasted my time and money was a female Canadian “professor”. She did not deserve to be called one and never earned our respect. The problem was she always engaged in double standards while marking. Potential students, if you’re reading this, remember to suck-up and be super nice to her if you want an A grade. Unlike the other professors, she lacked the capability to reason and stand by the points made in her classes. I felt that her classes were very routine and boring. I did not learn anything new as everything she presented was basically, common sense. She lacked intellect no matter how hard she tried. During our feedback sessions with her at the end-of-terms, she could not accept my negative criticisms. I always wondered why she asked for them in the first place if she couldn’t handle them! In my eyes, my parents were so much more qualified than her. BSL if you are serious about growth, you have to get rid of her immediately.

Other than that, I would say that I did not regret coming to BSL. Let me sum up the pros & cons here.

    PROS
    1. World-Class education
    2. School values work experience
    3. Interesting, lively classes
    4. Safe location (nothing bad happened to me during my 2 years there)
    5. Good employment possibilities
    6. Skiing!
    7. Staff members very helpful & accommodating
    8. Multicultural-classes
    9. Feedback paper for faculty members given to student at the end-of-term

    DISADVANTAGES
    1. Expensive school fees
    2. Sky high rent & crazy landlord
    3. School lacked facilities (with the exception of the internet, school had no
    gym, no canteen, nothing)
    4. Language barrier for students who speak English only

    Overall Score: (3.45/5.00)
