  • Took Cybersecurity Specialist online, don’t bother.
99% of the course is handled by a third party service, TestOut.
Just pay TestOut directly for their courses, you won’t gain anything extra from CDI.
If you care about networking, do Cisco courses from Cisco, not CDI.
I can’t even begin to list everything wrong with the CDI course, their staff, their systems and the costs.
Just take a look at their website and how barren it is of any resources.
You get 0 contacts, and everything is sent by e-mail. You cannot find anything yourself. You cannot schedule anything. I consistently had classes after 7PM for months, then suddenly had them at 7AM.

  • This is by far the furthest thing from a college. It is a place that sucks you in with false promises, dead dreams and frustration out of this planet. The teachers do try their best but the tools they are given are far an few between & unfortunately the teachers do not last long. The class i am reviewing is about 5 months in and currently on its 4th teacher. They had to merge the night and daytime class teachers into both to pick up the gaps where there was no available teacher. The admin staff have also switched roles or left in some cases and the only thing this place is quick at is collecting money for books that aren’t even the same as others in the same class.

I strongly recommend you google this place and read every single review… They are not accredited and there is a good chance you will not be able to get a job after completing your course. They are much more expense than other places that can offer you much more. Stay away from this place no matter what… Trust me it may be the best decision of your life.

Hopefully this place gets shut down before the screw over many more individuals just trying to better their lives.

  • Hi, so basically im Legally blind. I was promised accessibility and there isn’t any. Teachers didn’t even know i was blind, despite i did all the paperwork. I failed cyber security due to it, and the fact i was told a Chrome book was good enough to pass the course.

The dean at CDI Surrey told me i could choose an easier course. So i went back to Burnaby to talk to my rep who said that I could change campuses for graphic design. The dean didn’t like that and stated i had to stay in the same Campus. And was told its stay at the Campus or lose my student loan. So I’m forced to be in a class, that i need accessibility in.

The class has both IT techs and web and mobile design development from different stages. The teacher often ridicules me, often rude, compares me to other expectations from within the class. She won’t even allow me to use a larger font or my own screen reader, or its disruptive. Applications that are used, she doesn’t help to set it up for accessibility until 3 days before a course ends. And tells me to download apps that has no accessibility in it. Within the Web and Mobile course, Photoshop and illustrator software are not provided by the school, so we need to use free trials to do our course work with. Content for homework, and exams have massive spelling errors and hard to read. In CA-PTQRS, the progress checks, i can’t hand in on the portal. There is no spot for it, so i have to email the content. She doesn’t even mark my work in a timely manner.  I even asked yesterday how do you do the coding for keypad letters for my assignment, only to be met with, oh its not needed. Its easy to do so, just forget about doing it. I wanted to know how for future references as in Java, i need to make another ATM machine.

This sums up some of the issues, that im having.

  • I graduated from this college Surrey campus almost 2yrs ago as an LPN. There’s Filipino Instructor called Chris. What a jackass he is! He’s a lazy LPN who chose to teach at CDI rather practice his trade. After trying to have a relationship with one of my friends and we all know that he’s married and that was wrong that he will do that to his own student it’s very awkward! He enjoys talking about other people’s shortfalls and gossiping is what he LOVES to do! Its a shame that the sch will allow most of these instructors to act inappropriately in front of students and get away with it.

  • CDI is the worst college you’ll ever go to. It’s not accepted by real companies. Everybody knows it’s a joke. I chose the Dental Tech field and you have a teacher who’s a so called Dentist or used to be a Dentist in the U.S but decided to go to Canada and study at CDI and become a Dental Tech and teach there after a year or two??? That’s really fishy. With his thick accent you can’t understand sh*! Glad I didn’t continue the whole semester.

  • CDI is the worst college you’ll ever go to. Every field you go to is a scam. Went to a Dental Tech program and it’s an embarrassment. Our teacher says he’s a Dentist and used to work in dentistry in the United States. What makes such a so called “Dentist” go to Canada and study in CDI college as a technician then 6 months after that works in CDI as a Dental technician with a low salary? This whole CDI is fishy and it’s a scam. They lie to you just for money. Glad I left this sooner than later.

I realized when I started reading all the comments that all positive comments written on March 6th are bogus, assuming written by school staff member/s. All Comments of March 6th praise same 2 staff members Mona Kaur and Adam Bhinder. What a fraudulent way to market your crappy college…wow just wow!!!!!!

  • If you read any good reviews, then they are written by staff members of CDI College. Practicum Coordinator, Mona Kaur coaches students how to write good reviews. I know this because I was a student at this money making school. They select some students who they can manipulate by giving them incentives to write positive reviews for the college so they can scam more students to their money making college. Mona Kaur is a lousy as well as lazy practicum coordinator . I have heard from other students that she rarely gets them practicum. She expects students to find their own practicum and takes credit for it. What you reading from some of the students,’s bad experiences are all true. Run fast , dont go here.

I took Social Media an Web Marketing Diploma and the Instructor was a joke. Course content was very weak and not at all what I was told. The teacher only read contents from text book and we are expected to assignment without proper guidance. The turnover rate here is very high and you have bunch of idiots running the admissions. If you are inhaling hazes of cigarette smoke 24/7 and homeless looking hipsters then this is the place to be.  This school has been condemned by many students who attended here. There has been many legal litigations against the conduct of this so called money making drama college and I am sure few more on its way. My advice to you all seeking to attend this school, please run fast when you hear CDI college or Vancouver Career College which are owned by same crooked owner Peter Chung. Run and don’t waste your money.

  • Before you even think of applying at this “college,” make sure you take a look at this long but important post. I’ve worked at CDI college and it was one of the most horrible experiences I have ever had not only in my professional career, but in my whole life. The whole school runs on money and their only goal is to make the highest profit possible. The hiring process is an absolute joke, you’ll have a short, distracted interview and won’t hear back for months. Once you do start, there is no real training for staff; you pretty much have to figure everything out yourself. You’re promised many things at the beginning but there is no follow through. Their unethical behaviour goes as far as pretty much being told as an instructor to give 100% on assignments just for doing them. Also, plagiarism is not taken seriously whatsoever. Even if a student is caught with their phone during a test, they’re allowed to continue with the rest of the test. Some of the most horrible human beings I have met are students at this school. It’s really sad to see because a lot of them are going into helping professions including social services, healthcare, etc when they really shouldn’t be. They should deal with their own personal issues first. The school pretty much leads students to believe that their job opportunities are far greater than they actually are. For example, even their advertisements state by doing a social services worker program, they’re going to become social workers at the end when in fact becoming a social worker requires a masters degree from an accredited school, not a simple “diploma” such as the one they offer at their “college.” Students will not only complain about an instructor’s way of teaching, tests, assignments, rules, etc but once they run out of things to complain about, they will attack an instructor’s personal character. The people who run this place will support these claims because their only intention is to ensure they get the student’s money so there is no respect or support for staff. As much as the decent pay seems worth it, even if you look at the hours you have to put in dumbing lecture material down, googling plagiarized material, marking assignments that have nothing to do with the instructions, the time and effort you spend isn’t even worth it. I could probably go on forever, but trust me on one thing when I say, DO NOT work here..or even go to school here.

  • Stay Away! CDI College is owned by Peter Chung (formerly called Eminata Group). He was forced out of California for unethical/illegal business practices (see below) He is only interested in money, and there are rumors that the schools are going broke . He is not updating equipment in the classrooms, does not pay his suppliers, doesn’t pay students who leave their refunds for years unless they complain long and loud, all the while driving a Bentley to his Shangrila condo in downtown Vancouver.

Do not go to CDI College, Vancouver Career College or VCAD as they may even close down before you complete your diploma, just like Everest College in Ontario.

“….the Vancouver Province has reported on court documents from the Superior Court of California dating back to the early 1990s. In those documents, it was alleged Chung and his companies (Wilshire Computer College) had committed more than 10,000 violations of state business code……”

“The school was ordered closed and Chung, who never admitted to wrongdoing, was fined $12-million. “

  • Hey All,

I did CDI in Vancouver in 1999. 12k for the network admin program, I finished it in 5 months, but I had to pay in full to get the paper. Got hired with first job making 40k, stayed a year and after next job was 55k. Now I am in USA after promotion and I am Regional Director making over 120k. Funny joke in my company is where my education came from when they realized what CDI is. However I learned more than what they taught and I learned to sell people on my strength. So I agree CDI is not the best but it worked for me. The course that was the best was not about computers but how to make a proper resume and how to properly and successfully do an interview.

  • I unfortunately have had the same experiences. My teacher literally gives us question by question “reviews” of the test. The answers get drilled into our heads but any actual knowledge we need, to say, you know, to get a job, is overlooked. We skip chapters cause it is not on the test. The teacher is never in the class always outside chatting with other instructors and other facility members. The class is filed with either international students who either struggle due to language barriers ( and even they get high percentages in their grades), ones who rarely show up, or ones that again find the class super easy but just happy to get easy marks that the do not work for. There are four of us though that are fed up. I am sick to my stomach when thinking about the amount of money I am paying for this program. I tried to leave, but since I will be charged for the entire program, (nearly 25,000), I feel I have no choice but to stay and endure this garbage. I have seen other people who speak out in class about their problems be belittled and treated poorly by the instructors and basically get shunned. it is a joke. Seriously if you are reading this, DO NOT GO TO ANY EMINATA PROGRAMS!!!!!!!!! Total scam.

This fucking guy sold me a contract and got me to sign for $12000 student loan and so it begun. Their instructors suck by the way. After a week of attending their travel and tourism program I knew it wasn’t for me so I went the office and asked them if I can just cancel the program but they said there was no cancelation and I would have had to pay 50% of that $12000 to get out of it. Long story short I just switched to accounting and got an extra $3000 student loan on top. After 6 months of studying hard and not missing a single day I got sick and the clinic told me to take a week off studying. So I went to school and told my instructor and he said it was all good. But before the week was over the principle called me and left me a message. She said dont bother coming back to school cause you missed more than 2 days. I was devastated. I called my bank to cancel the rest my student loan $6000 which they had to take after we were finich the course but unfortunately they took the rest of money before I even had a chance to cancel. Now I’m stuck with a big loan, no job and no diploma. I can’t go to any other collages because my credit is very bad and I can’t get a student loan. I hope CDI collage burn in hell for they’ve done to so many people like me.

Oh and btw I just got out of jail have a criminal record with trafficking and break n enter charges used to be an addict and was to.ld it’s ok I will get hired for sure. wtf I will not be able to work with youth for a very long time, if ever. I do want to do this And have changed but the fact they told me it’s no problem at all they have lots of ex cons going there and they find great jobs…. I’ve been there 2 weeks I’m doing computers that no one teaches me I was handed a book and sent on my way. I got my iPad to put all my books on my email doesn’t work so I still have no books ( it’s been over a week) I keep getting told it will get resolved go away… I was supposed to do computers for 2 weeks then go to program room after 4 days I was told to go to another classroom for a week to do SSS then go back to computers, no one in the SSS class was in same program as me, I’ve met 1 other girl taking same class and she started a week after me… I’m supposed to be paying $9750.00 for social service development worker but they said I should do youth specialist because it is so much better and way more work so I agreed now I have to pay $16200.00. My gf was gonna go there too but decided on Vancouver college school o something like that and is paying less than half and can still do anything I want to do. I have spoken to police, my p.o and others that work doing this kind of stuff they all said I can find work but probably not with youth right away so yea intake worker totally lied to get money I’ve paid $150 admin fee and $28 record Chk which I won’t get back but first Chk for $1605.00 isn’t dated till next week so I’m gonna cancel and switch schools. I couldn’t get a student loan so I am paying myself. The financial aid worker was pretty rude when I told her I couldn’t get student loan. Anyways this is the CDI Surrey campus.. • Returning to school 20 years after earning my high school diploma to study as a licensed practical nurse seemed like a dream and demanded a great amount of courage with a single family…the dream became a neverending nightmare witch took place in laval but other horror stories from montreal and longeuil are still happening. Reading all students posts from campuses around entire canada made me see that this, these schools are like a strong bacteria. All the situations described are soo similar, the same problems, irrespect, harrassement, lack of professionalim and boundaries, failure to provide education, non-respect of the delays witch leads (future lpn’s )to expect a diploma MONTHS after the date they thought they would be done. Ridiculous selection exam with answers written on it that anybody can do! Teachers without any degree or any idea how to teach, lead a class, make it professionnal, taking one hour breaks, ending classes 45 min. earlier all year long. Talking about bs, the personal life, sex, xenophobic comments, jumping many chapters of all the books saying its not important, teaching only what would be in the exam and telling what would be in the exam, encouraging the looser students to be more of a looser by that matter. In a class of 30, there seemed to be 2 or 3 persons who would have the capacity of earnign a diploma. The majority of the students barely could write a sentence without major spelling mistakes, had great difficulties understanding the notions we study as future nurses and many managed to earn a diploma with all the lies and falsifications of the school. Due to the fact that this school accepts ANYBODY who is willing to pay, and the government who gives MASSIVE students loan. This course is 22 500 + loans= about 30 000$ to repay for the rest of your life. + other loans you have to get on your own bc 6 months after you aren’t done in time with the stages. Many girls made the stage called surgery, the teacher was in the hospital for 2-3 days on an almost 3 weeks practicum where you are supposed to work so hard and learn so hard!! They got 100%. I was fortunately a passionate student with already an education before cdi, but still, getting good grades does not matter when every students are getting the 100% even if they are totally off track. I was stunned at the number of students who were drug addicts, exotic dancers, got their children away from them for neglect, took many pills, came from a very troubled background, were mean and catty. The teachers were ALL nasty, deeply troubled persons, it is impossible to put a feet in the campus without witnessing fights, problems, unhapiness or simple S**T. It is not a shame to have had a troubled childhood or experienced problems in your life: if you overcome it and become a good person willing to give your best! These students are vulnerable people, the college targets vulnerable people (single mother, immigrants, very low grade students..) promising miracles that won’t happen. Even if I am blessed by my abilities in the nursing world, I still do not feel secure and self confident because of the failure to provide a proper and rigourous education. I fear not finding a job bc of the name of that college. I will never give up. But I am experiencing a near obssession with all I went through at that college, what I saw, how I have been treated. The only persons who had the honesty and integrity to RAISE AN EYEBROW at anything going on there, including me experienced, bullying, were left alone, threatened by teachers, laughed at, rejected. 2 50 year old woman were changed classes bc they expressed disaprovement..and never finished school. My teacher warned all the students in my class not to talk to me, forbade them to take breaks with me, and most did it. It took me courage to continue my classes and stage..I was not the only student in that situation..13 students left and abandonned for same reasons. Through my researches on the net, thousands of negative comments and horror stories, I found out that it is not only in the practical nurse program that IT occurs but in many programs (computer and web, addictions workers etc..) and not only in Laval and Montreal but in all the provinces. The journalists here in Quebec want the students and make enquiries but they want the students to appear on tv. A journalist gathered a group of woman but they changed their minds out of fear. It’a difficult decision to take. Never and individual should go to a school to become a nurse, with hope and courqage, wanting to learn despite the fatigue, for the sake of his, her family, in hope to be a professionnal who will help and care about patients..and experience a nightmare like this one. Please do not go to this school! Please wait for a community school, do not take the easy path. Avoid at all costs because it will cost you more thann 22 000$

  • News from Global TV Edmonton

EDMONTON- A group of nursing students from CDI College is speaking out, concerned over the quality of their education.

In December 2012, Practice Permits for seven Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), who graduated from CDI, were suspended by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Since then, Bow Valley College, which oversees the program at CDI, has stepped in to re-test those nurses and make sure other students are being properly trained.

Last week, 15 students who were enrolled in the 18-month LPN course at CDI walked out of school. They say the situation at the college hasn’t improved since concerns arose last year.

The students began their course in July and say everything was great for the first few months.

“The end of October things started to fall apart,” said Jenna Bath, a former CDI nursing student.

Bath says their clinical placements were cancelled without explanation and several instructors quit, leaving students to teach themselves at times.

“We’ve gone for weeks at a time sitting there doing absolutely nothing with no instruction, no teacher, sitting in a common area. For over two weeks were told we had to be there, attendance was mandatory,” she explained. “These things shouldn’t be happening in a college where you’re paying $30,000 to get an education.”

“We were sitting in a classroom with no instruction, but those hours are still being counted as instructional hours towards our program. We’re not learning anything, how can you count that as an hour?” added Chelsea-Lynn Ketsa, another former nursing student. “I paid $30,000 for an education, I don’t intend to teach myself.”….. more stories at:

  • Hey I just have one question. I attend the CDI Mississauga campus in the social worker course. I am about to finish this course and I have started to look for my co-op placemant which is mandatory for graduation the placement has to be 300 hours. To my surprise I have started calling different agencies and have been told that they will not offer me any placement becasue I go to CDI College, Some very good places like YMCA or CAMH are very good. Specially CAMH (Centre for mental health and addiction) only take students from colleges that offer a 2 or 3 year social worker course diploma and do not recognize CDI College. Colleges in Ontario like Humber, George Brown or Centennial college also they offer placement for students that attend good universities like U of T of Ryerson. Here are some examples below.

    http://www.camh.ca/en/hospital/careers_and_volunteers/student_placements/CAMH_care_providers_overview/Pages/careprovider_childyouthwork.aspx

    http://www.camh.ca/en/hospital/careers_and_volunteers/student_placements/CAMH_care_providers_overview/Pages/careproviders_addictiontherapy.aspx

The best thing is that I have been told that CDI provides the placement for you now they are telling me to find it myself and if I dont finsh it in a certain time frame right after my graduation I will have isues with OSAP. Now if all these agencies dont take CDI students how the hell I will ever find a placement and finish it on time. I am not talking about finding a job I am just talking about finishing this school and get the hell out of there. Here are some things you should read on the CDI wep page and how they lie to students.

all of this is jusr BS. I have been in this school for 9 months and the campus in Mississauga i new it has been open for about 17 months and check this. There have been quite a few people that have graduated but so far there was no grad party nobody got a chance to even get whole graduation costume and I have been told that they are goe do it later when more students graduate well I wanna see that.

CDI is NOT Canadas leading college well maybe if you count it from backwards lol.
The curriculum has NOT been developed by any experts and I know that for a fact.
CDI does NOT serve as practicum hosts.
CDI does NOT motivate you all they want is your money that is their only motivation.

ONe of the students at CDI was told by an employee at CDI that she should sell her car if she does not have money and enroll in the course I mean how fed uo is that WOW.

    CDI career services.

    http://www.cdicollege.ca/community/career-services/

CDI does NOT really offer workshops for resume writing or job searching at my campus there were 2 workshops related to that and thats it they only did that just to fill a gap or something, They were really BS anyway.
I do not believe that employers are looking for CDI graduates becasue that college is a total joke. Your paying $15,000 $20,000 $30,000 for what? a piece of paper.

    Have a nice day people.

The reviews were all very similar and extremely negative in nature. Unfortunately I had already paid the admissions fee which the financial adviser guaranteed would be returned to me. It’s been weeks, countless phone calls and emails and still no refund. Also when I asked for my information and fee returned to me I was met with great hostility as the Admissions ‘Professional’ would no longer be receiving her commission. Please don’t go here. • I have been reading these comments here and on many other different websites and there is no way that this is a lie. Well I might of thought of that when I would of been reading this a year ago. Now I am sudent there myself and have to say that I belive all of you people. I started a course at CDI in April this year and so far there have been many complaints against my isntructor. Now it has also come to the hours she has provided for me and other students, pretty much when she started teaching us bacj in late May. So basically the class for most of the time starts between 9:15 or even 9:30 there were at least 10 or more occasions when the class would start around 10 in the morning. The break that is suppose ot be form 10:30 to 11:00 is usually at least till 11:15 and sometimes atarts and 10:20. he calss is done by 12:30. On about 10 or more occasions the class was done by 12 PM or even eariler. So basically it has been over 100 hours through out the wohole course so far where I have still 3 months left and aother 2 months fo 300 hours placement. I can also say that about 50 or more hours we spend in class is just socialzing talking about BS and staff that we should NOT. Like some of the subjects our instructor usually starts are: sex, dating, banking etc. the course is addicitons and cmmunity service worker so it really to me is not approprate to talk about these things in class and on my time where I pay actually money for this course, YES I PAY MONEY. $11000 for the whole course. So basically so far with the 100 hours that consits of starting the class late having longer lunch breaks and finsihing class early PLUS the 50 hours of socializing, talking about BS and things that are not realted to the course I calculated that so far it is about $2000, so as of right now the course should cost me $9000 when I finish it should cost about $8000. If you wonder how I calculate this just do this.
    Course cost: $11000
Hours of course in school: 880 hours
Now divide the $11000 by 880 hours you will come up with $12,50
The $12,50 is how much I would be paying for this course an hour in class if I would be paying by the hour. Of course I have already paid in full the amount and I am missing 150 hours right.
So now multiply 150 hours by $12,50. That comes to $1875.
That amount is just for one person (ME)
Now of course there are mroe students in the class.
The amount with all the students can even exeed over $20000
So you tell me who is ripping off who.

If you wanna talk and have any questions or concerns about this or other things regarding to private colleges please email me: [email protected]

    Cheers

  • I am currently attending cdi in Ontario Mississauga. The addictions course and community service worker course. I am 5 months from finishing the course. So far my instructor have NOT provided me with just ofer 100 hours of the course. The classes usually star at 9:15, 9:30 with a 45 minute break instead of 30 minutes the class is done around 12:15 or 12:30 most of the time. I have calculated that so far it is over $1300 of the service of the education for which I have already paid for. Now when you multiply this by 10 students it wgcomes to close to $15000. Does anyone know if I contact the better business beraue they will do something. This is a rip off I payed in advance for a certain service and so far I am being ripped off. Now another 50 NOT the 100 that are already missing is the socializing and BS in class. My course is suppose to be 880 hours, so with 3 months left and 2 more months of placement if this keeps on going on 25% of the hours which is 220 hours that I already paid for I am bring ripped off and will be ripped off more. The course is $11000 already paid for in full. CDI should give me $2750 back, when you multiply by 10 students It comes to $27500 for that kind of money well you can buy a few cars. There are many other alight ions I have against CDI. It would take me at least 24 hours to write about. I can say for a fact that CDI is doing things that are against the law. One of them us intimidation and bullying certain students from my class. I don’t know how mucheryone longer this will go on, but to me it has gone far enough. I live in Canada and regarding this college I feel that whenever I make a complaint it’s like some country in the middle east or eastern europe where if you complain too much you will be put on probation or kicked out if the school. It is where the instructor can do anything they want along with the staff and campus director. Of course the employees are afraid IOC losing their jobs if they complain as well. It is my believe that what Mr. Randy Cox ( CEO OF EMINATA GROUP) whatever tells the campus directors they have to do. So if he tells to kick a student out well the camps director has to do it. So I think you can see what I am getting at. Anyway let the fight go on and if anyone would like to contact me, please do. My email: [email protected]
I am just thinking what can be done about all if this. After all the EMINATA GROUP is d
a huge for profit business. I know that there are many students that made many complaints, but there were no dramatic measures done against the EMINATA GROUP probably they schools I’ll never be closed down, wel, at least maybe just one by one. It is really too bad that the ministry can’t really do anything because it is a private institution. To me I learn as I go about this craziness that is going on at my campus. I do have a lot of info thanks through different websites and many complaints agains CDI.
I started this school and was very excited and happy. Now I regret it and think of it as one of the worst decisions in my life. However I think that it was ment to be because now I know that thus situation has its advantages I have learned that I am a fighter that does not quit easily. I know that it’s not only me fighting for this worthy cause and that I believe in myself and I believe that I can win. This whole thing is pretty tragic but also funny at certain times it just the kind of matter where you shouldn’t laugh, but you still do. For me it’s more sad of course and my anger about this is quite high sometimes, but hey you gotta learn to with it.

I unfortunately get sucked into there Addictions and Community Service Worker program back in April of this year & was there for 4 & a half months and enjoyed it in the begin till later on I started to research about CDI and found results and more results from people who’ve been students at CDI, with nothing but negative comments to say about the school, unprofessional teachers, false hope, and more.

I’m glad I managed to get out in time before completing the program. I plan my family and friends about this school, so others don’t fall trap to this so-called college. Now, I’m stuck with a 15,000 dollar student loan to pay back & no job. I plan on applying to “public” schools in the future. I had a teacher who claimed to have been university for 7 years and 12 years of experience in their field. However when my class got handouts for assignments etc. I could find this information from several sites. The information wasn’t even theirs. Never again will I go to another private college.

Employers want official vendor certs, not college diaplomas. I gurantee this statement.

    December 10, 2011

    Mr. Peter Chung, Executive Chairperson
    Eminata Group
    1800-400 Burrard Street
    Vancouver, BC V6C 3A6

    Dear Peter,

SUbject: Unethical, Integrity Issues, Unfair Practices and Unacceptable Behavior

“It is not known what “PRIVATE” college you received your education from, but it is obvious that you did not gain any schooling on people management. Your managerial skills are so poor that your employees are surprised that you have survived this long in the corporate world. Sometimes they question the intelligence of this company for hiring such an incompetent individuals such as yourself.” – common quote from the majority.
The purpose of this letter is to notify you ALL but most importantly Dr. Peter Chung about what upper, middle, and lower management is doing behind his back and the negative and devastating effect it’s about to take on the company(s).

We’re a group of people who work for the EMINATA group and a large number of
students who have attended a school at some point owned by EMIN AT A group who have decided enough is enough. We have started a systematic attack on this company to make things ethical and fair not only to the employees of the company but the general student body and public. We are giving Dr. Peter Chung an opportunity to learn and take personal responsibility as to what is happening behind his back and most importantly to make things right. So the same mistakes are not repeated from the past like they were in LA. We wish someone had given you heads up and we’re very confident you would have
resolved the issues in a proper and ethical manner.

    Let’s start with unfair practices:

Mid and low level management hires who they want (friend, girlfriend, friend, family, ex-coworkers) and this is by them deciding which positions to advertise and which ones not too. Their qualifications are always overlooked and rest of the people are asked to cover for their work because they’re “NEW”. We demand that you ask your staff and get a consensus of who hired who and who do they know within the company and if they worked together elsewhere.

Campus directors and most new regional directors have no clue as what PCTIA policies are and are always breaking them but most importantly what can really get EMINATA shut down entirely is the FACT that both regional directors and campus directors COACH the staff to fool PCTIA. We have a proof of this in mwtiple forms and we are 100% confident that no court system will throw this out the window. Campus directors are not following exam policies written by the company when it comes to students failing
exams and are not unifonn. We have proof some directors make indirect sexual favors to give an attractive student another attempt where if a unattractive or old student it’s a complete NO.
There is way too much staff recycled from SPROTT -SHAW, VCAD, AI, MTI,
ACADAMY OF LEARNING, etc. Think about it this way, if these rejects were not
successful their why do you have them hired here? Are they friends perhaps? Someone else’s garbage is now your garbage and you’re paying them to keep this garbage. People like Vic Tesan have infested this company by bringing in his friends and family who have gotten more incompetent heads into this company. Did you know they have also gotten free education for their family and friends as well? A fair practice would be to hire and promote within if you want success. There are a lot of dedicated staff that should be promoted. We have a list of most of the people who have hired in this manner and they know who they’re and majority are struggling to gain control.

Remember the person you hired to run your company is the same person who was
bidding against you with CCI to buy it out under your nose with this “investors”. This is how the price was driven up and Randy Cox couldn’t come up with the funds to outbid Dr. Peter Chung. Talk about sabotage, and we have voice and video proof of Randy blabbering his mouth about going public so he and his hired friends can take control of the company because they them you’re a cheap Korean Jew. This is the best tip here alone is worth what you’re going to spend in legal fees.

Since our numbers have been growing faster than we expected we have decided to fonn a student union because no one should be treated unfairly and to get Employment Standards involved we the majority employees are fonning a union to put an end to unfairness. We are watching all levels of management and keeping detailed records and if changes are not made and implemented within this month class action law suits will take place from both employees and student side and we would hate to see this company repeat it’s mistakes and get crippled twice as it did in LA. We want to see all the incompetent staff from other schools fired who keep bringing in their friends and bully the old staff.

You have staff from other institutions that constantly talk to their friends and share trade secrets on how EMINATA operates. We have recordings of this and campus level staffis willing to take a stand to this statement. There are also plans to take control of the company as soon as it goes public. Someone is having power/control issues.

    Student Issues:

Integrity issues due to campus directors no following policy and giving students false hope as there are too many ESL students that are setup to fail by sales people and this practice is promoted by the campus directors and DOA.
Too many mid-level managers hired who are friends of rejects from other organizations. Basically the staff keeps changing every few months and students are frustrated because they’re promised different things by different people. The directors are not taking responsibility .

Students feel frustrated with the campus directors because they cannot fulfil what has been promised to the student. Students are being enrolled in a unethical manner sometimes two or three months before their actual start dates. This leaves huge gaps in their schedules and student load frowns upon this and will be notified. You are messing with innocent people and their lives by wasting someone two months of time and messing up their car payments or mortgage payments.

Student body has determined that this company’s goal is profit or market dominance at any price because there are more students now under new ownership that the reps have brought in who are crap quality and don’t deserve to be in school at this point in their life because they lack the basic reading and writing skills. Students have complained the fact
reps are helping students cheat with the entrance exams and make them do it over and over.

It has come to our attention that a certain DOA has sexually engaged Vancouver students and staff and as a reward they’ve been promoted. DOA is a piece of garbage that hits on every student and makes negative and sexual comments towards students and staff. Sexual favors have been performed and documents. He has been seen drunk with students at bars and touching them in a very inappropriate manner. Proof and legal action pending …

There is no consistency from campus to campus and staff should have a good command of the English language! Students should be qualified thoroughly before being accepted and same with the staff.

EMINATA group is cheating student’s hard earned money by setting them up to fail by playing tricks to get them in. This is on your conscience Dr. Peter Chung.

We’re watching you and change is required immediately, this letter is being forwarded to many authorities and to the competition. Ie PCTIA, sprott shaw, Korean council, BBB, Board of trade, CTV, MTI, Stenberg, global, CDA, pharmacy/medical authority, all employers who hire your graduates.
    Sincerely,

    Occupy Campus ….

We are watching to see changes. In 2012 you better make changes before you go IPO, otherwise image, impression and public reputation can be easily tainted. We will be keeping a close eye on your businesses.

    Peace!!

  • Please take my advice and go to a public school, The teachers are a joke, except two who are highly trained, even tey used to tell us to never go to private schools again. All of the others sit around and want to have a good time with students and thats it, its not about education its about making friends with students. One instrcutor went so far as to have parties at her house with students after hours, and told us private details about her life…… which no one cares about. We just sat there and listened because we got easy marks. Not to mention she along with another instructor gave us word for word reviews befor exams and quizes. This was good at the time, but later in teh program we had a hard time actually learning. Certian students used to get personal calls at all hours of the night and its sad because that is unfair to the rest of us students. I recommend that this instructor get a life and go make friends outside of her studnets, if this isnt professional I dont know what is. She used to act like she worked so hard for us, but later on we learned that we had been taught things that werent even close to being accurate. When I pay over 20000, I expect to be ready for the work force, except I was made a foul. Please dont make the same mistake I did. Its better to wait and get into a public school. Also its crazy that we pay so much and we have teachers teaching us who also went to private schools and barley evven worked in hospitals!!! I would expect actuall degrees and lots of acute experience. My friend who is a nurse in a hospital told me they dont like cdi nurses and that none get hired.

  • Thanks God!, just before time I have opened my eyes by researching and knowing about this lousy CDI College who indeed have a bad reputation in entire Canada. This college management brain washed me and made me pay $150 admission fee.
In addition the staff in this Bull s**t college play sneaky smart and work in team to nail you if you get started to query any thing about their low standed operating system or any related issue.

Iam glad that I got admission in Kwantlen college for Technology Program. Unfortunately they will not return $150 admisson fee. They make you sign legal papers Man!!!

I have also noticed educational enterprise ( School Team Memembers of Canada )warned everyone in red writting to avoid this CDI College including Vancouver Career College. Canadian government should close this type of Rip off coleges.

  • OMG….CDI College is just a nite mare. The staff and the members of this private college is so unfriendly and uncooperative. They just dont care. I have paid my $150 dollars admission fee and applied for students loan. Couple of days ago, I have left messages in their voice mails about missing doccuments for my students my loan but they even dont care to retun your important calls.

Now I have changed my mind not to take CDI College, I rather choose some other school instead. I swear these school really sucks, Big time money making process school.

They show you dreams that are not fulfilled.
CDI made all efforts to rip me and my career apart.
In my experience A LOT of places won’t hire you if you got your diploma at CDI.
    This place is a s**t..

  • Sounds like you got a bum deal on that one. Look into moving to Ontario, pharmacy technicians make more money here. I think they have to be regulated or something, which is why they get paid more.

Unfortunately since you went to CDI College, your diploma from there might not even be worth the paper it’s printed on.

  • I just graduated from grade 12 with 85% and was new in Canada. Instead of going to UBC for pharmacy program I ended up going to CDI cuz they told me that I can finish the pharmacy technician program in 9 months and can earn $ 23/hr (which was a complete lie) and later go into full pharmacist program(without knowing the credits wont transfer to any university. Later when we were 6 months into the program one of their own instructors told us why were we even doing this course which paid $ 9-10/hr. Everyone was surprised as I was :( but too late. The scheduled class time was 9 am to 2pm. But I dont remember being in the class any later than 12 which included couple of hours lunch and tea breaks in bw. In class we had 7 students. That was a big sign of a stupid college and me one of the students being fooled :( And they charged about $14000 (a complete rip off) for 9 months. CDI folks are smart and they target new immigrants and people with limited knowledge. Anyways I ended up finishing the diploma and worked as a tech for $11 for yr n half just to pay off my student loan for $14000 for which they ripped me off. I had no courage to go to univ for another 5 yrs for pharmacy program. I started Financial Management diploma from BCIT(All courses transferrable to CGABC) which was two yrs and cost was abt $9000. I started working while I was still doing the diploma. Now I am doing Btech degree($6000)(Most courses transfer to CGA) and working at a CA firm which pays for my courses and books. Instructors are so helpful and commited. Program is intense and you feel you are actually studying and not wasting your time. CDI and my lack of knowledge made all efforts to rip me and my career. But I learned and fixed my mistake right away. So, please guyz dont waste your valuable time, money, efforts and brain at CDI. It is a business not a educational institutions. Go to a accredited univ like UBC, SFU or BCIT. I usually find my friends and ppl asking me they planning to go to CDI because its fast. I know what to tell them. I hear horrible stories from other students who been to CDI and gone through the same situations and now paying off the huge amount of student loans with such a low salary jobs. I hate the admins who work at CDI and trap the students with incorrect information when they would never do that with their own kids. Hopefully one day CDI colleges like CDI will shut down. I cant find a rating of 0 huh

  • I wouldnt have given any stars, guess its another one of their scams you have to give them stars to post a comment. This school shouldnt ever get any stars!

I attended this campus. Dont waste your time with this school. The instructors are there but they arent actually there for you. I had a teacher named Amrit. Who was a complete cow. She was constantly snotty, told me things, and told other students to do it a different way. She had an pretty easy job i could have done. How hard is it to know what to teach your students, multiple times we were given tests and there were pages on the test of stuff we never got taught. So they would tell us to skip over it never teach us it, and give us the full marks. When we had tests or exams by Amrit the whole classes average would drop miserably. She didnt take time time for lectures, or reviews. i dont recall once ever being in the classroom for more then 3 hrs. The Dental Reception course at CDI is a complete joke. This course was suppose to be full time 5-10pm, Monday-Friday. But its not as it seems or as they tell you. The admins that help you enroll dont give a crap the only reason they are there for you is to make the sale. your there commission. I heard of admins taking there time to see possible students for an hr or 2, then the person says they want to check out a few other schools. The admins are so high on themself and their wage that if you dont take the spot right then they wont recieve you call afterwards because you cost them money and wasted their time. Well we as students are paying out our asses for what you want \”Good Post Sencondary Education\” But if fact were get the worst treatment ever. You speak your mind and tell them how you feel about how they are running things they jus write you up. You continue to speak your mind you get the boot and still have to pay the rediculous amount. My course took me 7 months. When in theory if we were in class for 5 hrs a day like we were suppose to be, not 2 hrs, guaranteed we would have be actually able to finish the course in 3 maybe 4 months tops. 9600.00 for a course you can take at BCIT for 3300.00. If you can find some better place to take any course take it there. Dont waste your time money or effort on this place they call a college. The only teacher that was worth mine or the other students time was Donna. She would make us stay full class length, actually teach us stuff that was on the exams and tests, she would follow through with reveiws for tests, lectures, anything you needed help with you ask her, shed be right there to help you. Monica and sonica- What a joke family those 2 are. You are being taught a computer course well 3 by these two retards. Windows, excel, and Introduction to windows, we all taught ourselves. You pay an extra 2000 dollars for the rad module and you have a choice whether or not you want to take, but not whether or not you want to pay for it, you have to pay for it. The stupid thing about having this module is you cant use it in a dental office, they will not let you. Dr.\’s Hygenists will not give up money they can make for some receptionist to take x-rays. All in all i have to say to anyone planning on starting a course or have enrolled in your course but havent paid yet. Drop-out, dont enroll yourself, youll never forgive yourself for not listening to everyone who has posted posts of this bullshit school. Check out other campuses comments too, burnaby, every campus owned by Eminata in canada is like this, i have seen so many posts about this joke of an company. I just wish i would have seen the posts before i enrolled in this course. I wish more than anything there was a way to go back in time, because if i could do it all over again, would i do it differnt, hell yes i would!! All these posts about this school are not bullshit, this school is bullshit! Like the girl above says, They need to change there Logo from \”CHANGING LIVES THROUGH EDUCATION\” to \”DESTROYING LIVES THROUGH EDUCATION\”!

  • They should change their logo Changing lives through education. it should read Destroying lives through education because that is exactly what they do. Their teachers are not qualified their director can’t get her head out of a book long enough to talk to you and if she does manage she is just no a people person. Their use to be a good receptionist but she is gone and they kept the girl that looks as though she wants to beat you the minute you walk in, or that you have ruined her day by showing up. Lets not get started on the male administration rep the lies and promises told just to get someone to sign up are horrendous. You are given a student manual and there are signs posted everywhere of the procedures to follow if you would like to dispute or if you have a complaint. Waste of time you can write as many letters as you would like, talk to the campus director the regional director take it as far up as you would like. The thing that i noticed was that everyone covers for one another because everyone is related or a boyfriend of or girlfriend or sister of somebody, so good luck the policy’s are written and in place for them to create a job for someone.
