Overall my experience at Concordia was positive from an academic standpoint. My teachers were knowledgeable in their subject areas (Professional Writing and English). I believe I am a better writer today as a result on the courses I took at Concordia. My complaint is the school is supposed to be a Christian University College, but my one English teacher Antonio Trafficante would drop occassional F bombs in his poetry and taught heavily from DH. Lawrence who I perceived to be a sex addicted anti-Christian. The other teacher Sandra Janzen spent an awful lot of time railing against George Bush, the Catholic Church, the death penalty, etc…. She passionately evangelized her class for her far left causes. However in the end she did provide competent instruction for professional writing and even though I made it known I did not care for her far left preaching, she did mark me fairly. Trafficante was a hard marker, but I believe he is that way for all of his students. He is certainly competent in his field. However, parents who want their children to receive a Christian education should not really consider Concordia. The teachers are secular and may even be hostile to the faith Concordia is supposed to promote.
