  • You don’t get what you pay for. It’s a joke! Your credits are not transferable to any other college. Or even a school within them selves. And even the program’s aren’t transferable into each other. for example: You can’t transfer any of your credits from the Medical Assisting program to the Registered nursing program. It’s ridiculous!! And I wasn’t informed any of this until after I graduated.

  • So disappointed to see negative reviews. Its clear that these individuals did not do the required work and then blame their instructors when they can’t pass tests or the class. Anyone willing to apply themselves and then not taking responsibility for their own laziness.
The instructors are very friendly, knowledgeable, and hope for their students success. The whole attitude is at the College is so upbeat and friendly. Its a really great school dedicated to helping people help themselves!!

  • Helping a friend work on his credit and he has about 25,000 in student loan debt showing negative on his reports. He was told he was applying for financial aid and scholarships. Once he was already enrolled he was told he didnt qualify but by then it was too late and he already owed the tuition. Never once did he hold the student loans funds. The school applied…had him sign and kept all the money. He wasnt able to get a job after in his course of study, but he’s still responsible for the 25,000.00 he never got to hold.

  • Been attending the nursing program the last year. I’m in to deep and stuck no matter what I do now. Prices are extremely high and facilities and equipment are very, very poor. Simulators and equipment are not working or non existent. I was told it was some of the best. Lies and damnable lies. IV practice and training is a joke. Some students didn’t even get to try or practice giving IVs. I bet they are going to be fun as your nurse! Teachers are of poor quality and a make it hard for you if you are older or they decide they don’t like you. They don’t like older students, period. I often felt sorry for the older ones they gave so much BS to in class. The last cohort/class had such bad cheating that even now, most haven’t even been able to pass an NCLEX test from what I have heard. When teachers found out that “certain” students cheated on tests, it was brushed under the rug. Even now the teachers are poorly educated and experienced. I had better training as a phlebotomist last year. I seen one student and overheard teachers talking about how much fun it was harassing one of the older students. Often they would have her in tears. Poor lady was just trying to get a job and take care of her family. The class that was ahead of us ended up getting most the jobs for capstone in nursing homes. The “pet” students got a hospital gig. That isn’t good for a school that charges us so much. All that is lacking is a gun when we pay. I see nothing positive coming out of this training and I worry about them shutting down and locking out students because of the financial trouble they are having. Its been said before here, run and do not look back. This school is the biggest joke anyone can attend. If it wasn’t for welfare mothers, they wouldn’t be able to operate. Please, please, please do not go to the nursing program here. It is a joke and so is the staff and training. I hate to be so negative but at this point, I worry about anyone knowing I became an RN at this school. Their reputation is the worst in Utah. Please look elsewhere, you won’t regret it, I promise!!!

I have previously attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, several years ago and did want to go the traditional route so I chose Eagle Gate. No regrets here!

*The COO of the company is a partner and will preach “Student Success!” While he takes your money with a gleam in his eye.
*The school is struggling and has had many lay-offs to cover the “Lack of numbers” They have closed down a number of programs and are constantly cutting back in order to survive.
*As a student, YOU ARE A NUMBER. The school is “for profit”. It’s all about the money.
*Admission reps are held accountable to their numbers and are fired if they do not meet the “quota”. They call, text or email. Their state of employment depends on it.
*I have seen many unethical tactics taken by the Sr. Team. Cutting costs with RIFS, adjusting PTO of employees (without notification to the employees), cutting benefits, and with all of these cuts they manage to give generous raises to the senior team members of the organization. (Change a couple job titles, and swap around some responsibilities to make it look legit on paper, No Problem!)

The main advise I can give anyone is to DO YOUR HOMEWORK about this school before enrolling!! The costs can affect you for a life time.

Program directors have to work 15 hour shifts and are often belittled an battered verbally on a daily basis. Students are varied but some really don’t belong in a college because they can’t even read on a third grade level. Students are often former drug addicts or FElons who are placed in degree programs were therapist will prevent them from getting a job.

  • I am saddened that such a school as Eagle Gate College operates. Knowing first hand that their main motive is to ‘PROFIT’, thus the meaning ‘For Profit College’. Their admissions team are similar to a group of ‘Call-Center’ employees who call ALL DAY LONG with tactics that are unethical!! A Bachelors in Business is around $48,000.00 – $50,000.00 ++++It will NOT transfer to REAL Universities/Colleges – the majority of Utah businesses LAUGH AT/ABOUT or DO NOT ACCEPT Eagle Gate College Diplomas as ‘REAL’. They are creating a DEFAULT rate that is embarassing to the school itself. You’re a NUMBER at Eagle Gate. A dollar sign NUMBER.

What does Eagle Gate College have that’s SO special to charge triple/quadtriple for a non-transferable degree? If you qualify for PELL, SLCC Associate Degree wouldn’t really cost anything out of pocket. With Eagle Gate College’s Associate Degree, you’re at paying TREMENDOUS amounts out of pocket even after PELL (Free Grant) pays to the school. Why? Why? They have nothing better than another ‘state’ school of MUCH MUCH lower tuition – or free with PELL at SLCC and other state colleges. But, Eagle Gate College DOSEN’T have anything better than a ‘state’ school where your credits transfer and employers accept ‘state’ schools diplomas such as: – U of U – BYU – Weber State – SLCC etc………

Eagle Gate Offers False Advitertisements/Dreams/Motivations. Their admissions team is a trained car salesman organization. Not an educational instituion.

Have you noticed that NO state school (U of U – BYU – Weber State SLCC ETC) has a call center team such as Eagle Gate College. These schools are confident to have students walk-in and register. Eagle Gate College ‘CALLS’ – ‘HARRASSES’ to twist your arm to come in. Why is this? Why does Eagle Gate College need to make calls? Because they are a low-level quality school – for profit – need numbers – the part owner is in the management. Eagle Gate College makes the calls to make the profits. Out of every dollar a student spends at Eagle Gate .23 cents goes towards education, the residual goes to the POCKETS of the owner and employees.

PLEASE STAY AWAY. MAKE SMART CHOICES IN YOUR EDUCATION. GOING TO EAGLE GATE COLLEGE SAYS 2 THINGS ABOUT YOUR ENDEVORS:

    1. You didn’t go to a state college and found out financial information and costs.
    2. You were ‘used-car’ salesman’ed into going to Eagle Gate College.

CAUTION – BEWARE. Eagle Gate College is STRUGGLING. They will shuttler their doors one day. How would you like to have a diploma from a shuttered for profit school where business and organizations scoff at. I atteneded Eagle Gate College and have had NUMEROUS opportunities to speak with Admissions/Management that have worked or presently worked there.

This letter isn’t meant to be on a negative basis – it’s a POSITIVE and FACTUAL letter.

  • This college is terrible. Beware of Eagle Gate College. The cost of tuition is out of this world. I could give you a list of the frightening, unethical practices taking place at this college and the horrible experience I had. But instead of going into great detail I will tell you this and let you think about it. The main president of the schools, he is the COO I think. Chuck is his name. He has just been named a part owner. Isn’t that weird? Do you want to go to a college where the President, the one who is making all the major academic decisions of the “for-profit” college is actually an owner? He is making all the decisions financially based. Read all the reviews here- this college is scary. Outrageously expensive, and now a President who is money motivated. They had their nursing application for accreditation rejected as well. Terrible.

I knew I made a huge mistake going to this school when I signed up and starting to take the classes. The teachers where so clueless about the materials they were teaching I felt embarrass for them. I started learning online on websites like youtube or w3schools.com to get through. Here comes the wort of it!!!! After I left I received a bill of $8000 for tuition!!! When I signed up I had grants and student loans! They actually forgot to send my last tuition bill to my student loans and came after me for the money! I was horrified!!! They didnt even accept payments but wanted all up front!! I went to a few lawyers and no one wanted to touch it because school laons is protected by the government! You cant even file bankruptcy and get rid of it! This school uses unethical practices to get your money. they will stop at nothing to get what they want! they will garnish your wages, ruin your credit, and give you hell for years to come. I am happy to pay my student loans but I never thought I would get in huge trouble for a mistake they made. Stay far away as possible from this college! Trust me, you wont want to go through what I have for the last few years!

Career services helped me find work, while I was a student, when I was displaced from my job. After graduating I was working in my field within a month. I was never lied to about tuition or transferability of credits. On the contrary, I signed many documents that said that they do not guarantee credits will transfer. People that say they were lied to are showing their ignorance. My brother-in-Law graduated from Utah State University with about the same amount of student loan debt as me and it took him about a year to find a job. He is now working as a cable guy. Employer’s hirer Eagle Gate College graduates and Eagle Gate College career service department works tirelessly with each and every graduate. The trouble with most of these comments is that these people are giving up and not finishing their education.

  • Some of these post show the ignorance of the writer. Regardless of the college, or university, there are always going to be students who have a bad experience. Unfortunately, it sometimes is due to an administrator, or college employee, but often it is the students issue. I am familiar with Eagle Gate College as well as other state colleges in the area. Yes, private colleges, whether they are regionally or nationally accredited are more expensive than state universities, but there are also benefits to these colleges. Not every college environment is a good fit for every student. I can say that the administration and staff at Eagle Gate college do care about the success of their students,(I can gaurantee when I attended a state university no one cared if I was in class or not, or if I failed a class, and they surely did not give me any type of assistance in finding a job after graduation). Yes, Eagle Gate and schools like them do provide higher education to non traditional students, but every person has a right to an education, regardless of their prior educational background, or other background issues. Regardless of the institution where a student choses to get their education, if they do not complete their degree, for whatever reason, it does become frustrating to pay back student loans when you do not have a degree to show for it. But if you do not complete your degree program that is generally the students issue, but sometimes it is easier to blame someone else, or the school for those issues. I know plenty of graduates from Eagle Gate College who have secured jobs in their career fields of choice.

But then the school was stretching them thin by forcing them to teach subjects outside their field. Then I was no longer as impressed with their abilities. To top it all off I ended up with a $35,000 dollar loan to repay and no means to do so.
It’s sad to know that the target market of these Business Schools is the stay at home mom. I’d be happy to lead a riot aimed at tearing these schools down.

They have regional accreditation. I was able to get most of my credits transferred to DeVry University, graduated with a regionally accredited bachelor degree, and now I can look at different options for grad school. I have applied to a couple state schools, and they were fine with my DeVry degree. • I was taking the Computer Network Administration program at Eagle Gate College. After the first year, I started realizing some significant prolems with the program. Like not having the equipment for a (hands-on) colleges. Not having the correct books or teachers. I wrote a letter to the CIO towards the end of my 6th term, stating four major problems. This letter caused quite a stir and was replied back that these issues would be fixed. Two weeks into my final term, a filed a grievance about these problems. They were never corrected. I met with the Dean and should could not help me resolve my grievance. Before I was able to submit this to the president, I was called into the office for a meeting. I was expelled on my last day of my last term. I will not be able to walk the line.
The problem with this is, is I had great grades and a wonderful attendance record. I wanted my greivances resolve by:
    1. Eagle Gate College creating a policy the betters the communication with-in the Eaglegate College Administration. This was a huge problem throughout my education at Eagle Gate.
    2. Put me on the board the creates and implements the programs for the Network Administration Class at EagleGate College.
    3. To allow me to recieve my diploma and a percentage of my tuition back.
Since out of the 11 core classes I had, we did not complete half of the class objectives for 7 of the classes.
I payed a lot of money to attend this school, and to be expelled on my last day is very discouraging.
I should have taken pre-law at SLCC and not wasted my time with such a horribly constructed educational system. The pre-law would definately help me in my future endeavors

I was surprised at the High cost but felt that the quick education would make up for it. I did attend a state college prior to Provo college and soon realized that the teachers at provo where under educated in the field they where teaching. I was surprised at the lack of knowledge they had and soon realized that they were hiring the students that graduated there. Having no knowledge in the field I felt that the blind was leading the blind in this school! Also the lack of equipment they had to teach with was almost embarrassing to the point where the teachers were complaining to the students! I felt horrible at the amount of money I was spending here! Even worse, most of the days I went to school were “work days” where the teacher wouldnt teach! I ended up teaching myself most of the things as I went home and used youtube tutorials to teach me the programs. soon after I left I started paying my federal loans for this school not missing any payments. to my surprise I get a call from Provo College 6 months later requiring to pay them over $4000! I couldnt believe my ears! they wanted me to pay all or they would take me to collections! I asked if we could do monthly payments and she agreed. soon later I get a call from collections asking me for the full amount!!! I told them I didnt have that kind of money and I was already working hard to pay my federal loan which should have all been with them at the first place! They gave me ten days to find the money or they would take legal action. I called around and tried getting loans with my banks and was rejected because I had some loans in collections(provo college of course) she then gave me suggestions like money train and other high interest loan companies that would probably rip me off worse than Provo College did! I now have a court date and will have to take all this to the judge! the guy that delivered the papers even apologized and said he was giving many of these out. He said they are becoming as bad as golds gym! Please do NOT go to this school! If I can save even one poor soul from this horrible beast I will be happy.

I was in the criminal justice program to become a cop like most the people in my class but as anyone would know to be a cop or any law enforcement you have to be under a certain age and have no criminal back ground right? Well I thought so but not according to eagle gate I had allot of people over the age limit that where in my classes waisting there money also people with felonies I know because they would talk about it in class with the teachers and the teachers would just laugh. Probably laughing because they know that that poor sap is waisting their money and time thats how much they want money they lie lie lie and take anyone and I mean anyone.not one credit transferred when I got smart and went to slcc. Slcc pretty much laughed at me when I asked.no one there cares about you just your money its a fraud and please be smart and go to a real college unless of course you want a college where you spend way more than you would anywhere else like classes you don’t learn anything and want a degree that will get you a job where you barley make over min wage if that is what you want then this is the scam I mean college for you. • I use to be an instructor for Eagle Gate / Provo College. After dedicating substaintial efforts to the students and school I decided to leave due to the overwhelming unethical behavior of the administration. This behavior directly effected the students education and experience. In my time with the company I was pressured to give higher grades or to drop students in their final term of college because the student would be difficult to place in a job. The schools scheduling policies also cater to the schools low budget and not to the students which ends up costing the student more money for being half time students. They pay their instructors a very low salary and mandate that they do triple the work duties they are paid for, then they are treated like the scum of the earth for caring for the students. I don’t understand how they are still in business when I know for a fact they have unqualified instructors teaching class that students pay thousands of dollars for. The corruption isn’t just campus wide it is corporate wide. The HR department has been made aware of many unethical issues and hasn’t cared. Their employee turn over rate should tell you the quality of the company. Good people will not stand for poor quality. Especially teachers who teach because they love education… this school does not love education. They love money and manipulation. Go to a state college or community college.

Their credits do not transfer and they are not recognized as a regionally accredited school, they only go through ACICS–which basically means they’ll take your money and then some to give you a piece of paper that is worthless. Go to SLCC or another government funded, state school that doesn’t cost nearly as much and provides a quality and transferrable education. • wow…I wished this site would have been available in 2003. I graduated in 2005 with a 3.98 GPA. I was hired as an MA right out of school but quickly found out that any decent office will train you to do abt 90% of what Eagle Gate charges $20,000 for. Shock doesnt even begin to tell you how I felt. When I registered I was told all my credits would transfer if I wanted to go further in my education. I asked this question several times and was told the exact same thing by several different people. I also asked instructors if the pay was adequate to sustain a single mom and child (I was recently divorced) and they all told me the pay was excellent for MA’s. They lied. $10 and hr is standard pay and definately NOT enough to support myself and daughter. Some of the instructors are great-some are such a freaking joke that I have NO IDEA how they were hired. Several “gen ed” classes were worse than the worst high school class I ever took.
When I decided to continue my Bachelors I briefly considered going back to Eagle Gate because they just started BA programs. The “head hunters” were insanely aggressive in trying to get me back and they continued to lie about how good their accredidation was (5 yrs later and nothing changed!) When I finally found a college that would work with my degree I found our that 95% of credits are meaningless to a Regional accred. campus. The academic advisors had to petition the main campus to allow even the very few credits that they ended up taking. The 2 yrs it should take for my BA will now take me 3 yrs because my classes at Eagle Gate are basically all considered electives and serve no purpose in an academic setting. Now that I am in a regionally accred. school I see how vast the difference is between the academic expectations. Sadly my 3.98 GPA was not worth the 2 yrs I endured to earn it. My current college is the real deal and I’m sad that I wasted time and money on Eagle Gate when I could be pursuing a Masters Degree instead of trying to scrape by with a Bachelors. Eagle Gate should be investigated for fraudulent practices-they are criminals and I wouldnt doubt for one minute if they were embezzling some of the money they are charging for their OUTRAGEOUS tuition that is completely worthless.

A few are awesome people, and those that are awesome I wonder why they are there. They should realize this school is a complete joke and is in my opinion commenting fraud on people that are trying to better themselves. The test are a joke. There is not structure in the school. I have no idea what my GPA is at all, I just know I passed classed cause they havent told me otherwise. No one ask about my progress in the course or anything of that nature.

I could go on forever about a lot of things in here but most of them have already been said. So don’t waste your time or money cause it is not worth it to you to go here. Go to a real college where they care and will educate you.

As an employer of MA’s, we try not to hire from their grads and we don’t have them in our clinics for externships. Go to SLCC or if you can get your MA certificate thru High School. It’s not worth spending $30K for a non-Regionally accredited AA degree which won’t transfer to other Regionally accredited schools (BYU, UofU, etc), and it’s not worth a $30K investment for a $12 an hour MA job. It is if your student loans/investment are less (SLCC or your high school’s offering), where your credits will also transfer. SLCC, Davis Applied Technology Center, others have AA health degrees which will pay you more money an hour such as PTA, OTA, LPN, Lab Tech, Dental Tech, etc. Your degree from a Community College or Applied Technology Center will be regionally accredited, transferrable, respected, and likely a lot less money, but it will take you a bit more time to complete.

Half way through there RN program and they said I needed some classes that they had forgotten to mention. The costs? over $2,000 a class! A CLASS! At the beginning of the RN program we were told and encourage to take the LPN exam after the first year. At the end of the first year, they said “sorry, we made a mistake” and we were not allowed to sit for the exam. Then they said, “you wouldn’t get hired anyway”. I can’t even begin to describe how naive and incompetent the administration is. Their documentation and word, is worth nothing. Rather then correct their own mistakes they will threaten legal action against you. Why waste your money? Go to a real school. No degree from this place will be seen as valid in the workforce (and will probably be laughed at) and is definately not worth the unbeleivable cost.

Eagle Gate College is awful. Good riddens.

  • I am about to graduate from Eagle Gate. For obvious reasons, I’m using an alias, and I’m not going to state the campus location or program. The cost structure at this college is bizarre – and may mean you end up paying way more than you expect. Instead of paying per credit, as in most colleges, you pay a set fee according to what tier of credits you fall in. IE – 1-6 credits will be one fee, 7-12 credits will be a higher bracket, etc. In addition, the equipment and class books are not anywhere close to cutting edge, and the administrative staff will not go out of their way to do any more than they absolutely have to. The teachers are OK – to be fair, the good ones are amazing to learn from, and you will get all the knowledge you need for the real world if you are paying attention. OTOH, the bad teachers are some of the worst I’ve ever had, and this is my second time through college.

One more thing to consider. If you are thinking about Eagle Gate for a medical career, be aware that they are ONLY accredited with ACICS, and NOT CAAHEP or ABHES. This will make a huge difference if you want to eventually become certified in your field. The only realistic (and affordable) option this leaves open is NCCT. 6 months after successfully completing NCCT requirements for phlebotomy certification, I’m still not certified as a phlebotomist because they changed their policies to require a diploma or degree. Since I don’t have that (yet) I’m still not technically a certified phlebotomist. With that in mind, I lood at certifying with AMT or AAME, but Eagle Gate’s lack of accreditation required for these organizations means that I will have to go with NCCT whether I want to or not, if I want to be certified.

Based on other reviews I see here, it looks like I will need to take all my classes over again if I want to go any further in my career.

If I’d known these things before I started at Eagle Gate, I would’ve chosen a college such as Evergreen, which IS accredited with the necessary agencies. I am disappointed, to say the least, and I will be copying this review to as many other college review sites as I can find.

  • I went to Eagle Gate in 03-04. The entire time I was there I had several teachers and admin tell me that the credits transferred. This was a HUGE deal since I was planning on going on to do my master’s. That was a total lie. NOT ONE CREDIT WILL EVER TRANSFER!! I have tried in WY and in TX and now I have to start all over. My degree is crap. No one takes it serious. And let’s not forget the $17,000 in loans. The best part is that I will NEVER make enough with my degree to pay it off. MA’s top out in UT at $16 with the average pay $10. Save your money and your time and go to a real college. SLCC is a far better place to spend your money. You get a better education for the fraction of the cost.

  • This school is very expensive and not at all worth it. All General Ed. classes were way too easy to pass, and of course DO NOT transfer. Do yourself a favor and attend another college, spend your extra financial aid money (of which i had none and actually took out 15,000 worth of loans for 3 semesters of “schooling” here) and buy a laptop and the programs you’ll need and maybe even a car.

  • The entire system is a fraud. Lies upon lies to get us in the door. After we paid the $40.00 fee, we were then told, I thought it was different. What a farce.

  • I attended this school and it was so horrible! I tell everyone who considers going there to save their money and go to a real school. They always messed up on my schedule so much so, that I ended up having to go a full six months longer, and then charged me for their screw up. On top of that I have been done with that place for two years now, and am still having problems with the financial aid department. Never go to Eagle Gate College!!!

  • This is a horrible school and will lie about the cost. I was only part time and they charged me more than what should have been charged for 7 credits.

  • This college “Eagle Gate College” uses fraudulent tactics to gain positions in search engines stealing other sites good reputations and making it look like it there own. They hacked my site email address and aliases it to control Alexa.com information about my content. How low can you go? If they stoop that low you can bet they also cut corners every place they can. I would not recommend using a school who utilizes such practices you may end up getting burned very bad and finding out later. Oh Joy another hacker
