  • This was the worst place ever. I’m $38,000 in debt. I graduated in 2014. The department of education can have the piece of paper back because that is all it is. The “Dean” caught embezzling money from EBI at that time. I had Sallie Mae, Champion, and NAVIENT. So what the hell????!!!! We get FUCKED IN THE ASS AGAIN!

  • Wasted three years with them. Like an idiot I attended three times for NAUGHT

  • I feel the same. Now multiply it by 3. I attended 3 times like an idiot. I graduated two out of the three. Last attended 2003, struggled pregnant with twins but I made it through FOR NAUGHT. There was two real teachers there. And then THE CROOKED. When I think of the time I wasted, my stomach churns. I want to be part of the lawsuit. I want every penny back they took. Not to mention how embarrassing this is. ?

  • I have $34,000 in debt I graduate in July 2017 and never got a job in my field too

  • I attended in 2011. Didn’t get a job in the medical assisting field after multiple attempts. You have to fight for your grant money. Some of the classes the teacher had you do everything on the computer and was hardly ever in the room. They’re a money hungry school. Your credits don’t transfer. I could go on and on but instead I have signed up to start a class action lawsuit with Top Class Action.

  • There idea of an internship is a joke most of the time is not even in your field of study. They say they will help find a job when you are done they do a very poor job they “help” you build an indeed profile that’s there idea of help. I got an associate degree in business management and it is worthless. I had an interview where the interviewer said he over looked I went to ebi they don’t hire ebi students because they are never fully prepared or trained. It is a useless piece of paper. And a 36,000 debt.

  • Great dean at vestal campus.

  • Tuition= $19,400 for maximum 16-month programs that offered JUST an associate degree??

    END. OF. STORY

  • This institution recently shut down their Elmira campus, and NEEDS TO SHUT THE VESTAL ONE ALSO BEFORE THEY GET MORE VICTIMS TO FRAUD THEIR FINANCIAL AIDE AND MONEY TO KEEP THEIR DOORS OPEN!!!!

  • Would not recommend this “school” to anyone trying to make a better future. While attending you’re just making your student loans increase every minute you spend in the classroom. Remember it cost $9.00 a minute just to attend this institution. The materials, equipment, appearance, and overall everything that is offered at this school is not worth this cost by any means. There is a lot of pressure to sign-up and attend before even all of the financial and program details are explained. The management staff here is terrible and so unprofessional. Members of management are always asking students for referrals. How can you reefer people to a school where you suffer and hate to learn everyday! If you teach your students to do one thing, abide by doing the ethical thing and do the same, or do not expect the same in return! Professors grades are biased and based on favoritism, because of the small class sizes. Professors have two classrooms they are supposed to teach at the SAME TIME in some instances. In all honestly, attending here has me realize education means nothing anymore it is all about the profit the institution receives. I HATE THIS INSTITUTION, DO NOT ATTEND.

  • I feel so embarrassed that I got conned out of my student loans/grants and time ( 20 months) by EBI in exchange for an expensive worthless piece of paper that they choose to think of as an Associates Degree especially as I supposedly graduated “with honors!” Nobody else recognizes their fake credentials because twice at a job fair, and I’ve been to quite a few, the represenatives for local employers openly told me they DON’T hire students from EBI!! Going to EBI has been the worst and most expensive mistake I’ve ever made considering I’m $20,000 in student debt! What EBI is doing to people who are just trying to get a better education is obscene and should be stopped. Everything they promised when they were putting pressure on me to sign up was a big lie. If there is a class action lawsuit I would like to join in.

  • EBI did the same thing to me in 2005-2006. They do take control of the grants and loans that you get and NEVER give back any money. I was told that the estimate amount I would pay is 19,000 for my accounting degree and it ended up costing me almost 30,000 when all was said and done. I am still wondering what happened to the class action lawsuit that was put against them in 2006. Does anyone know? I would like to get another one started and will be speaking to an attorney regarding this. The lawsuit should have never been dropped. I have proof that they took over my grants and loans, but was never contacted to go to court.

  • Just to update what has already been posted… there have been quite a few teachers fired lately from “knowing too much information”. This school is a rip off and scam you out of all of your money. Yeah your refund checks go right into their pockets. Their best teachers are let go. Many lawsuits against them, and most of the classes are irrelevant to what you are taking and the courses that are relevant do not help you in the work force. They offer life time placement assistance is nothing but a scam to try to get people enrolled. They have you enrolled before you even really know what they are doing. There has been many employees that have left and nobody knows why. I do… its because they don’t like working for a crooked company anymore. Save your time and money and stay away from this school.

  • I am seeing classmate after classmate have problems with getting their refunds done properly. Also many complaints of being underpaid. I have switched courses about halfway through the term
and was supposed to get back an even larger portion of my aid. And instead was cut by almost half..How is that?

  • I attended EBI over 25 years ago was a rip off then and obviously is still one.I took a family leave of absents due to family problems and when I went to go back they said I had to apply for new loans.I already had borrowed enough for what I got. I found out they applied for a cost of living loan in my name which I never received. Still fight Fed Govern. on them 25 years later.

  • EBI takes over complete control of grants and loans — which are my money!

  • This school is a total ripoff all you will get out of here is a big student loan. My daughter graduated as a medical assistant in 2009 and still has not found a job. They were suppose to help students find employement. THEY DO NOTHING. This school needs to be shutdown and sued. IT IS A SCAM

    Overall Score: (1/5.00)
  • I was a 4.0 student for one and a half semesters. I quit to go to a better school. Some of the teachers are hired off the street with nothing more than an associates degree (sometimes not even that) and they’re not even guaranteed to have majored in the area that they are hired to teach sometimes just getting by in that one class in college. A few teachers are good, but the difficulty of most of the material is not higher than a 7th grade level.

There are currently 5 lawsuits against this school for mismanagement of funds and failure to deliver the education they promise. The way that they handle the funds is very sketchy. When I quit, I was sent a letter from the school with the vice presidents name typed on the bottom stating that the federal loans agency was contacting them telling them I was having trouble paying my loans and trying to sell me some school loan program EBI runs, and when I called the federal loan agency, the worker there told me that there was no way because somehow I was still listed as attending school and didn’t even have a due bill yet and this was more than a month after they supposable were supposed to send the money back, and I found out that they changed the graduation date to June (when it was originally February) instead of listing it as a withdrawel. I later found out that they earn interest on the student money the longer they can keep it in their account. I was fit to be tied about this fraudulant letter trying to get me into their outside loan program and getting me upset thinking I was missing bills or something at home.

The only committee at this school is the leadership committee which would be wonderful except for the fact that the leadership committee has difficulty planning some things because many things are disapproved by administration that is more worried about greed and money and the “appearance” of the school to the public than they actually are about the wants, needs, and concerns of their students. LIke forums for the students being turned down without being edited because they are concerned about what the large portion of students that feel ripped off and unhappy voicing their opinions would say.

You might get a degree here, but learning the essential knowledge necessary to work a position of employment efficiently is not guaranteed. There was a good medical teacher there, and she is no longer there. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

I recommend spending the extra year or half a year and getting an associates degree at another local college that is better qualified and delivers what it promises because EBI is one BIG ripoff.
