Marquette-Pleasant Prairie Nursing school is BAD, I cannot recommend. They literally don’t teach. Instead they “guide” you in your learning, meaning you essentially teach yourself. You will have an MSN but no real knowledge when you graduate. I just graduated and now have to try to learn as much as I can to pass NCLEX. They boast about their high pass rate but it is more of a reflection of the type of student they get rather than their teaching. You pass in spite of them, not because of them.
You have small enough classrooms that attendance is taken, but no discussions, time for questions, or anything besides straight lectures. The professors claim to care about students, yet rarely offer help and seem to look down upon the students and try to mold them. There are some hot girls and guys but the are rare. It is filled with overweight, wannabe jocks who can give every statistic for their favorite team, but cant manage to spiral a football or make a layup. Unathletic and unattractive. The main benefit of Marquette is job opportunities in Milwaukee. Marquette alums seem to run Milwaukee and are accepting of fellow students/alums. Unfortunately, this does not make up for the high tuition cost, terrible classes, students and boring/uncaring professors.
Great urban university. Area around school (off campus) tends to be a moderate crime area. However, the campus is safe. Easy access to downtown area and many cultural events.
