I agree with Valerie above. Moorpark is a community college, and as far as those go, its probably one of the best in the country. The teachers are awesome – many are geniuses or retired experts in their field who teach their merely to inspire young people. It really keeps with the tendency that junior colleges have the best professors. Cuz seriously, they do. The area around campus is lame, just California suburbs, so pretty boring and not tons of interesting living options. Besides that though, there is probably an above-average list of things you can participate in. A lot of their sports teams are quite good actually, and tons of people from the Conejo Valley attend their football games, etc. There’s a ton of stoners and weirdos, but also a ton of smart kids who finished high school early or who are saving money to transfer to UCLA, which is pretty common there.
    Overall Score: (3.91/5.00)

Moorpark is great for what it is, a jr. college that will be a quality stepping stone to continue your education at a 4 year school. Their nursing program and exotic animal programs are some of the best in the nation.
    Overall Score: (3.09/5.00)

Great for fulfilling your Gen Ed requirements.
    Overall Score: (2.91/5.00)

  • CC says:

Because Moorpark is a Community college it is very affordable. Everyone commutes so the housing situation is pretty much living at home. But the teachers a great and a lot of them also teach at CSUN.
    Overall Score: (3.45/5.00)
