One Student Review of Platt College: Tulsa

  • Admittedly I am an old fart who wanted to learn how to cook at a professional level, even did the free labor to graduate. What can I say, glad I don’t have to work in a professional kitchen for a living. I swear to god this place is owned by a pompous butt and thank god his teaching staff is OK, they all seem to have come from CIA meaning Culinary Institute of America which overall is a pretty good thing. I think owner wishes he was competing with CIA and not to worry you are not Mike. I know they try to screen these kids at least a little bit, and every kid thinks he/she is the next great thing. Just getting them to follow a simply written recipe is a god damn challenge. I think the state of our high school system in no matter what state you are from private or public pretty much sucks, and same for 4 year colleges because I have seen kids with great scores out of secondary going to this little guy and can barely read or write – it is sad. As a result trying to get these kids of read, write and do some simple math is tragic. The school is doing best they can and yeah its expensive (welcome to reality) Kids have to be taught some sort of urgency and culinary program can do it but god they whine. Parents you fucked up your kids simple as that, I am an old guy who did this as a whim, as a fellow student became the adjunct dad for these kids in my course. If you happen to see this thread. The school is just fine for what they do, but no wonder society is so screwed up. There are some good ones out there trying do the right thing but most of them are lazy, b***h and whine, have no concept of teamwork. Wake up god damn it.
