One student review of Regency College

  • Jeremy Watson says:

I attend the Hospitality management program at this school. after be assured that it was the best program out there i enrolled.

the first few weeks seemed pretty normal. The teachers outlined their expectations and went through the course program, we were told that all the students would receive a knife set(key word being “set”) The total cost of the program was just over $7,000 with the option to quit the program before the half way mark. So not only did we not get a knife set the expectations became extremely high and the course out line was basically thrown out the window. After about three months the teachers started to crack, telling all the students that they refuse to teach us because they were not getting paid and all of the money the students paid was used by the principal to buy a restaurant just 3 blocks away.

Having grown up in the hospitality industry I knew from an early age that this would be my chosen career path. My parents owned a small little 140 seat restaurant at the time and I was their main line cook. My day usually started at 8am cooking breakfast, where I would set up the kitchen for lunch and head off to Regency for my daily dose of knowledge; some days I was on time and some other days I was 5-10 minutes late depending on how busy my parents restaurant was that day. (no big deal, right?) however. As the days went by and my average went up the teachers became rude and unwilling to unlock the doors if I was running late. There was at one point where I was told I had been kicked out of the school because I was late. (Seriously?)

After paying $7,000 for a 6 month course I can come and go as I please; which I didn’t and was there everyday which is why I passed with a 93% average. Upon “graduating” I was told that I would not be receiving the diploma/certificate of completion because one of my finals was below an 80%. In the end I did receive my certificates but I was the only one out of 20 students who actually did.

This school was a huge scam and a total waste of money, If I could I would like to get fully reimbursed for the $7,000

    Overall Score: (1.00/5.00)
