This college is not accessible for starters which is a disappointment. They are handling covid vaccinations poorly, forcing students to get it unless they want to wear a mask 24/7 even outside although some can’t wear a mask due to disabilities. Their classes are very simple and you do not learn much. The professors are overall nice. The dorm rooms are decent, not the best. For activities, the people there may not accept you and then you are out of luck as theres very few clubs. Around campus has very little to do and a small mall. The career services will help with job opportunities. There are no Lutheran values although they are a “private Lutheran college”. To end with, if you want a small school that cares about you, pick another. This small schools administration still doesn’t see you as anything other than a number. They will mess up your courses and take months to get back to you.
Its okay not great.
Roanoke College is a great college. I am going to be a junior this year and I couldn’t possibly have asked for a better college experience so far! The campus is amazing! It is so well kept and the facilities are great. It was ranked the 18th most beautiful campus by the Princeton Review and I think it should be ranked higher. The academics at Roanoke are great too. The faculty and staff are so supportive of the students and they genuinely care about us. There are so many majors, minors, and concentrations to choose from, the options are great. There are so many different clubs and organizations at Roanoke; it’s very easy and fun to get involved on campus. One of my favorite things is the food. The Sutton Commons has some of the best food. They even have themed nights such as “beach blast” where they have shrimp, king crab legs, and steak. It’s awesome. Sporting events are also very fun to attend. Roanoke has a lot of school spirit for their fellow Maroons. Roanoke College was ranked one of the top “Up and Coming Schools” by US News and World Report, and I understand why. With our new exciting curriculum, renovation of old buildings, the construction of new buildings, Roanoke is definitely on the up and up.
