It took days for me to get a reply to my simple inquiry. When I finally heard back from one of the staff, I felt like I was emailing an autoreply. I’d rather go to a different college as this has not been a good first impression.
the best ever institute i have ever seen.
This school is just awful, I studied studies and the classes succcd ass
This school is not good. Staff and professors are incompetent at best, making a lot of money of the taxpayer but not doing much. It is all marketing BS. Residence is a dump with the place filthy and unorganized.
There are better options out there.
-Great overall experience.
-Staff was great, profs great too, experienced, very helpful and supportive. Well except for one.. You know who you are.
-Class sizes drop considerably after the first year.
-Small town feel to med. sized city, easily adapted.
-Res was nice, clean and slightly larger than my closet at home, so as res’ go it was a good size.
-Food was really good, nice variety. Plus there’s a Tims which is key.
-Campus was pretty managable, classes were mostly grouped together to avoid long treks between each class.
is this school worth paying the international fee for? im planning on studying tourism …?
and I almost forgot- 1st year class size = 40 students
second year class size = maybe 10 students.
Its not because they are better musicians, and stuck through it.. its because (and I apologize if I hurt your feelings on this) they just simply were not at a level of understanding of musical theory and performance that is expected at other college programs (Humber, Mohawk).
Think about it- no test to get in, no competition- be weary.
Spend your money on some decent gear and just play gigs.
DO NOT take the music program at SLC kingston campus. It is a joke. If you have any musical integrity whatsoever, avoid it. The first semester is spent clapping basic rhythms- it embarrassing- a week was spent introducing a doted note value.
The recording gear is bullshit. Complete garbage. The theory is elementary rudiments.
If you have NO musical experience, hit this course up. or, better yet, save the money and just go online. you will get the same quality of education.
I dropped out after the first semester to save the pain of paying for a second semester of bullshit. And the testimonials I heard of the second semester were horrible.
Waste of money, waste of time, and a serious embarrassment to musicians who take music even the slightest bit seriously.
The quality of “professors” is very low. In fact, none of them was a professor but rather new graduates “teaching” the course they had just graduated!!
