Now that we’re married, it’s my problem. I’m trying to find the solution w/o paying on this the rest of our lives.
If there is any movement on a class action lawsuit, please email us!
[email protected]
[email protected]
I want to be included in any legal actions taken upon this school
my email is: [email protected]
I am currently a student here at I.U. in the RT program, 3 weeks from graduation I don’t want to go into details but I am wondering if there is a class action lawsuit or any one who is currently in the program thinking about a lawsuit.
I don’t think the workers of financial aid is doing their job like they should. Just to annoyed to go into details.
I attended the Logan campus from 2012-2014. $42,000+ in debt and have nothing to show. 3 years after graduating and still have not been able to work in my field of study, business management/ accounting. I was getting calls multiple times a day and numerous emails, all of which were of a more threatening style. I finally told the people who kept calling that once I could put the worthless piece of paper they gave me to use in a suitable and well paying position, I’d THINK about paying them back. But they wouldn’t see a penny from me until that happens. Still haven’t made one payment to them.
If anyone has any information to help me please email me at [email protected]
Phone: 80-989-1983
wtf did i sign up for
If you are interested in taking part in a class-action, email me at [email protected] or call Kris Kaufman at 801-394-6062. He really helped me out but I didn’t have much money anymore (thanks a lot SHC) and couldn’t pursue any further. Besides, the more people we can get in on this, the cheaper it will be if we split it amongst ourselves.
I am serious! This is FRAUD! They should not be able to get away with this!!!!
Explain this one ” you turn in all your work on time, get 100% on your assessment 1 miss 1 on assessment 2 have at least 4 to 6 daily check points and have a D in the class. It makes no sense.
The finacial dept. Are the biggest crooks. So you get financial aid, pale grants , mind you you don’t ever get grant they just take it upon themselves to put it toward tuition. Then for my remaining balance I get a statement in the mail stat ing that a loan company handling my student loan balances. So a loan company paid my loan, I won’t have to pay my loan back till I graduate yet they say I’m 400 behind on my payments. So if a loan company pays what you owe and you now owe them? How is it I owe the school. Non profit organization. I hope somebody looks into class action, or starts one.
I attended from Jan. 2013 til Jan.2015 to get my associates degree in business with a emphasis in property management. Thats right, a full 2 years not the 18-20 months like they advertised and promised. I went straight through the summers and was constantly given courses out of order, didn’t have a dean to consult with for the first 6 months and was basically kept in the dark for the entire time I was there as to what my actual status was or what classes would be next.
The teachers were great people and very knowledgeable about the field they were in but I think only a few were actually qualified as teachers in the traditional sense. Apparently you don’t need to be certified to work there as long as somebody there or in the organization actually is. I took a couple of courses in computers and wasn’t able to get my certification due to the fact the teacher wasn’t yet certified either.(Quickbooks, etc…) I think the only teachers who were certified are the general education professors and the deans. I will say that they were all really great people and I look up to and appreciate all of them for all of their help. The classes were all very small with 7-10 students on average, many mods I only had 3-4 and a couple of mods I was the only student.
I should have shopped around, I agreed to their terms way too easy. They handled everything for me and in the matter of an afternoon I was in college, approved, accepted and enrolled with no real concept of what I had just done. I didn’t really realize the mistake I had made until I enrolled my sons in Weber the following summer. The whole reason I went back to school was to graduate before our two youngest children(twins) to try and set a good example for them. I thought enrolling in college would also inspire them to get an education so as not to struggle through life like I have.
It was so easy and they sold me on small class sizes, one on one teacher interaction and on campus classes. Until I enrolled the most I had used the computer is look at it or stack things on, I had never even sent an email correctly. Running my own business, I needed training and understanding as I have witnessed many friends and colleagues fail due to their lack of knowledge of business and taxes. I basically needed to learn how to use a computer.
They gave me a computer when I enrolled and it did the job. I’m still using it but I found out that it is basically a $500 unit and I’m sure that they got a bulk deal so they paid even less. My books were all free and they actually have a policy of letting you take whatever you would like of the old books they are no longer using, of which I have a pile. After I realized what I was paying for I made it a point to grab as many as I could, knowledge is expensive and books are full of it. The librarians and staff are very helpful and accommodating to all your needs as a student.
My problems arose as I tried to take more classes to graduate quicker, many mods I would only have one class. The classes were crammed into a month and they still seemed a little too easy. I think that almost everyone gets an “A” and is on the dean’s list. Two and a half hours a day per class, twice a week, which is basically 20 hours of instruction to get everything out of that subject you can. If they gotta skip over sections of the book or just call it good halfway through then that seems to be par for the course. I don’t think anybody fails regardless of their scores and definitely not their effort. There were a lot of students who dropped out from one reason or another and after talking to several of them, I decided to finish because they weren’t able to get any money back and/or ended up responsible for the entire amount of their degree.
How much is their tuition you ask? $42,000 for an associates and $75,000 for a bachelors degree, that was at the time of enrollment Jan.2013, it has gone up since then. They took my FASFA money($11,000) and then gave me a scholarship($3,000 if I kept a 3.0) which left me responsible for about $25,000. I take full responsibility for that, they explained that to me in the beginning and I knew that full well.
What I didn’t expect is them running into a situation where they couldn’t offer me the classes they promised me, then trying to talk me out of my emphasis courses so I could graduate on time. I had many mods that I only had one class and wanted another but could not take more because they told me it was the way my student loan would allot the funds. I got frustrated after not getting any classes and others out of order, 200 and 300 series classes before I took 100, not being able to certify me for classes I already took and being shuffled around when I asked for answers. I wanted to take my last summer of ’14 off to work and since they currently didn’t have the classes I needed to finish my degree. That is when I found out the only way to do that is to un-enroll, give back the computer and pay the difference of the new cost of enrollment, $2,000 more.
A couple of months before graduation I checked with the financial office to make sure there was no problems so I could make plans to attend Weber($5,700 a year approx.) in the winter. They said all was well and I continued until Jan. 2015 when I graduated, 4 months late. When I went to Weber they informed me that my FASFA money for the semester had already been used at Stevens-Henager. I had started my last mod in Dec. ’14 and as far as I knew they were paid up. I couldn’t register because I didn’t have the money from FASFA and didn’t want any more debt.
Now the kicker, after maintaining a 3.8 GPA and putting up with a lot of BS from them, I was finally done. At my exit interview they informed me that I owed them $8,800 for some fees they couldn’t explain. They wanted me to “Just run down to your bank and get a loan.” Guess what, I still don’t have a job and I’m already in debt $33,000 with interest. I argued and they said they would call me. No calls and I came back two more times and the result was the same. They would send me home assuring me that it would all be taken care of. I could not walk with my class and still don’t have my degree in hand because they seem to think I still owe them $9,000.
To top it all off, I have to start over at Weber because they, or any other college, doesn’t accept their credits. I would definitely warn others to shop around and get your education elsewhere. Non-Profit my @##, what kind of college wants more money after you have already paid them at enrollment. Buyer Beware!!!!

Than I did in 7 months at stevens.
Biggest mistake of my life. I feel like
The teachers aren’t really qualified.
It’s a rip off. Plus they call me all the
Time! I will never go back to their
School.
Pros:
Small Classes
Instructors that work in the field they teach
Facilities have hands on labs to use(such as an x-ray machine)
Beautiful school/Location
Laptop and Books(supplies) included in tuition costs
Cons:
Expensive
ter the gulf war stevens would not accept gi bill instead made me take out loans and then i was sick for three months. when i returned they said i was expelled and i payed back the loans thru tax returns that the utah higher education took for years on end.still taking tax returns from me. both are corrupt .i need a lawer help.
I graduated in 2011. It took me 2 years to get a straight answer about my graduation diploma. I talked to many employees and nobody gave me a straight answer. I worked really hard to pay off my school balance and my school loans. Paying them all on time. After two years of trying, I got an email from my school explaining why they still haven’t sent my diploma, it’s been about two years later. They said even though i’ve been making daily payments for my school, and balance. They still can’t release my diploma til it is all paid off. Like i’m supposed to pull 10k out of a hat.
This is completely ridiculous. I am paying off my loans, and paying the school. Yet I still can’t get what i’m entitled to? I’m sorry but that is ridiculous, and i’m filing a complaint. It took me two years to get straight answers, basically going from person to person being told one or the other. No it doesn’t work that way, not with any college or any graduate of a college. You go to school, you pay for it, and you get what you’re entitled to. Just not from Stevens-Henager.
The school has a terrible reputation too. Please look up Lee Berger the former dean of the Ogden, UT college and what kind of ethics this school has. Terrible, Terrible. Listen to the complaints and do your research and DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL.
This is a great Facebook page because numerous web sites with complaints about SHC are all posted there. Kind of like a one stop place for all the information you may or may not want to know about this diploma mill. There is also a very good article about the school called Stevens Henager College Diploma Mill Exposed at https://getoffthebs.com/the-truth-about-stevens-henager-college-online/ The article was actually written by some of their current employers. In one part of the article, the SCH admission advisor talks about comments around the water cooler where students are referred to as ‘stupid.’ Definitely a great read.
If you are looking for a school that will send you a refund check and make your classes easy, this is not yoru school, if you have a specific reason why you want to go to college and don’t want to waste your time in a 50-1 community college classroom or a state college 200-1 lecture hall with their set hours, it si a decent option.
cons
-little instruction
-little management
-they will try to leech you the entire time
pros
-beautiful receptionist
dont go here
Provo campus are amazing! They helped me out so much. I do agree that the
Program is very expensive I would recommend going somewhere cheaper. I would also recommend
If you are going to the medical program to get all your certifications it will be worth it
you will have more options if nothing else works out.
One star so i can submit the post, I would have never known by the wonderful presentation I got at the admissions Office
This is neither a positive or negative review, and I do not work for Stevens or college america. It could be the course and the degree. I already had a bachelors and I was not studying graphic design, or the other degrees that people seem to have written about.
If you have any interest, dont believe what you hear, or are told, and see and be able to read and understand the contract before you sign it. Of Course, that goes for every school you may have an interest in.

Honestly, a regionally accredited school is light years ahead of any national accreditation. Regional > National. Out of all of the nationally accredited “for profit” schools, Stevens Henager is one of the better ones. It’s all relative. Many people have graduated from all of these schools and have been successful. For every dissatisfied person there’s 10 satisfied people from any school. Do your own research and make up your own mind. You can find negative info on ANY school. My sister attended Stevens Henager and graduated in 2010. She has a good paying job she loves. I’ve worked in lead generation for all of the above mentioned schools (and many more) for over 5 years now. I know a lot about for-profit schools. In my opinion and from what I’ve seen over the years, AI is the worst. If you want to go to Stevens Henager, then go. If you don’t, then don’t. I think they’re getting a bad rap here when many other schools deserve the negative press more than Stevens Henager. Just my $.02.
p.s. i hate to even give them a star
I hope an education body can do an honest investigation on this school for the sake of innocent future students.

he need more than what i can give him. PLEASE PLEASE CONTACT HIM EVERYBODY.
Note: Several” sensitive” issues have been raised regarding how international students are treated at the school. Be advised that international students have rights too and should not be violated/discriminated upon as a result of their nationality, race or visa type. And as everyone else, the international students should file a complaint or take legal action in cases where their rights are violated.
ALSO CONTACT, FTC, THE BBB, THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION IS LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO STAND UP AND SAY WHAT IS GOING ON, NOTHING WILL BE DONE IF YOU DONT STAND UP.
IF YOU LIVE IN UTAH I WANT TO TALK TO YOU.
you if you troll this webpage or if your a student their call the CEO up and tell him how you hate the school and how ask how he can run a school when he him said had said ‘ I HAVE NEVER DELT WITH STUDENT BEFORE” how can you run a school with out knowing how to interact with students?
this school should be reported but NOBODY HAS THE GUTS TO DO IT…
you have a twitter or a face book, they do. make it be known how much they suck.
post on their twitter page, post on their facebook.

the CEO, the VP, the Director and the owner are all a bunch of…”insert your own words here” the teachers are not even teachers…
there are so many people there that shouldnt be working and removed from the public, like that so called diva, seriously…she cant sing.
and the guy with the really curly hair…wth does he perm his hair or something…
the girl at the front desk…she has more plastic than my phone does and has had more work done than my car.
the VP, does she ever lie, she lies more than a cronic liar. “oh wait, she is a cronic liar”
what can i say…they dont have a paper trail to any student records other than the one they make, so if a student has an issue its never noted in any file. so if you troll this page page enough, and if you have have an issue with this school, conact the department of education in your area, the FTC, the BBB, and the school ask to speak to the director of the school or the CEO.

fight your student loans with them, ask for a NO interest loan if you have one.
so if your a student there or if you work there and hate it, please call the Federal Trade Commision, Department of Education and the BBB in your area.
In Feb 2010 I started school at Stevens Henager in the Graphic Arts Design Program. I was loving it. Learning so much knew information, and getting great grades. I felt better about myself and the things I was getting done. I felt I was really on the right path to a new beginning, a new career. About 2 months into classes and my health started to fail drastically. Losing weight at alarming rates, not being able to eat or drink anything without being in immense pain. I continued my classes through this first month of hospital visits and first surgery. They said my gallbladder was causing my health problems, so they removed it. I went home shortly after surgery and was in more pain than before this all began. I had gone to the hospital time and time again, doctors, anyone who would listen. My gallbladder was gone and I was still withering away to nothing, in constant pain, through this I kept up on my classes. After a month of visits they had found they missed a large tumor on my pancreas that they had found the year prior and never advised me of. It had to be removed and soon. I called the school and spoke to my adviser, Wanda. I informed her of everything that had been going on with my health. We spoke in length about my options for school, as this next surgery they were basically going to saw me in half to get this tumor out. Recovery times in ICU were 2 weeks and then 2 months at home on pain killers and no movement. I told Wanda, my school adviser you guys appointed, I was concerned about being in ICU and on strong pain killers to try to comprehend what I would be learning in my classes and retain the information. Since I was paying for my education I wanted to remember it. Wanda stated the best option I have is to be put on hold and I could pick up my classes where I left off when my recovery was complete. I have emails and witnesses to back this up as well. So I went ahead with the surgery and felt I had done everything I could to secure my education after my recovery.
Slowly my recovery was taking place and I kept in touch with Wanda as to keep her up on my progress. To my surprise when my 2 months was about about up and I was feeling like a human again and off the prescriptions from the doctors, in July 2010 I tried to contact Wanda only to find out she was no longer with the company. I thought this was no problem until I find out, putting a student on hold is not even a option that is offered. Then I was told that I would have to reapply because I had been dropped, like I had quit school. The next bit of information was what pushed me over the edge, that my new payment would be $480 a month. WHAT??? I was paying $80 a month before this all started. Because your employee set me up with false information, Hold is not an option, If I would have known this in the beginning I would have done my classes while they were operating on me! The stress that this situation has created is unimaginable. The hours and days I have spent on hold, the time spent struggling with what to do, writing letters, and just plainly crying myself to sleep and at times hoping I don’t wake. The Situation the school has caused is something that has ruined an innocent girls life. My only want was to better myself and contribute back to the world. Now I look at the world as and ugly entity, with matter only caring of its self. And now I can’t further my education because of this imaginary “hold” term used by your employee. My life is in limbo as this matter has been overlooked and under thought. I have tried to resolve this issue with you several ways. I have contacted the school only to get treated rudely and transferred for hours to no one that can help or even have a clue about the circumstances. I contacted the commissioner in Utah, he suggested I contact the Better Business Bureau in Utah and the Business Licensing Center for Utah. I was informed that the state has no control over for-profit schools. So I wrote a letter explaining the situation to the BBB and though many correspondences with the school, we had come up with an agreement. The school never honored that contract. So I turned to the Department of Education, They wanted nothing to do with this, except their money, until they found out the school had lied to them as well. My School Grants were turned into loans because they thought I quit school. I NEVER QUIT SCHOOL!!! THE SCHOOL QUIT ME!!! I am now in debt tens of thousands of dollars for trying to better myself and because I chose Stevens Henager College to pursue my education. The original agreement I entered into with the school was all I was ever after. I had been wronged and my only hope is that I can find someone who cares enough to help right this awful mistake that has basically ended a life.
What a let down.
This is just a money scheme with me as a targeted market. With no morales to the thought of a successful citizen or a drug dealer from the projects how can they do this to me? My esteem has been shot. The bills have to be paid! No education no work!! No house, no place to live, no food, how do they target the uneducated. what a scam to keep the poor poor. And out of work. Sincerely wanting success!!!
ns-Henegar. I graduated in June of 2011 and can honestly say it was the worst experience
I’ve ever had. They are liers and cheats who don’t care about your education. Please go anywhere but here!!!
after reading your posts im happy that consul didn’t issue me visa :))))
I fortunately got my foot in the door to a really good company NOT with the help of Stevens Henager. The fact that I had an Associates degree helped. 5 years later I wanted to pursue a bachelors degree and now live out of state. All the reviews are right, this is a for profit school and NONE of your credits will transfer to a university. I had to enroll in a community college and literally get a second Associates Degree to transfer to the University to receive a 4 year regionally accredited degree that so many employers seek. A degree from Stevens Henager is an expensive useless piece of paper, and I just barely paid my loan off. As I look back and compare my experiences with the university and community colleges to Stevens Henager, Stevens Henager’s quality of education is so low and they should not be in business. They lied to me that my credits would transfer, they lied about job placement, and to top it off I had to start all over again. I was young, naive, with a baby on the way and they promised me a degree worthy of my time and that I would be placed in a job within 12 months. Save your money. This college is not worth one cent. Community colleges offer so many programs and have a lot of flexibility with online classes- and ALL the credits transfer to 4 year universities that will indeed give you better opportunities for success. Best of luck to you all in your search for a good school. Please don’t choose this one or any for profit school for that matter.
So not only can I not get a job with my ‘degree’, I have lost a job because of my ‘degree.’
I now have a 58,000 piece of toilet paper.
they should do what they say and not hide behind bull crap and do it not make up reasons that are not real. they should not even get 1 star
When discussing payment plans for Stevens Henager alone, I asked the FINANCIAL ADVISOR how much he thought my student loans from the gov’t would be per month and his response was “well that is between you and the federal government”…. of course he wasn’t going to tell me that I was going to have more loan payments then I could afford.
DO NOT GO TO STEVENS HENAGER!!!! The school is a joke. It is a financial gain for them, they don’t give a sh*t about their students, only the bottom dollar.
Oh, and that computer you get, mine didn’t even work through graduation…. that’s how amazing that computer is…. also it is included in your tuition for almost 5,000…. Go buy a Mac and go to a real school. Unless you have endless time and money to waste with Stevens Henager…..
BOISE ID GRADUATE…. DO NOT MAKE SAME MISTAKES I DID!!!!!!
There’s things person looking at this school needs to know that a “Consultant” isn’t going to tell you.
First they are an “Open Enrollment” school. This means they have to take anyone. During an “Interview” the “student” is probed for info. “Pain points” why they want to go to school. Every Consultant reads from the same script, and you, on the phone, are just a number to post on a white board. They lie to the student saying they have to talk to the “Admissions Committee” to approve their application. The Admissions Committee doesn’t exist. It’s a ploy. If you have a pulse and a High School Diploma they’ll take you. They also lie when they say there’s limited numbers of seats in the class and if you don’t do whatever it is in a prompt manner, you loose your seat. Each class has 20 people. If it fills up, they have another class of 20, and another, and another, and another.
Second the “Demographic” they target is some of the poorest and ill educated groups across the country. They target this group because, frankly they also know they can take advantage of them. A friendly voice on the phone promising a brighter future to someone at the poverty level who knows nothing about college. They also know that they make the most money off the student in the first six months, because the student won’t read the contract, drop out or fail. In the contract says you are agreeing, after the first month, to pay for the first semester. That’s seven classes. If you stop going they keep charging you. The worse thing is if you just stop going they also fail you for all the remaining courses in the semester block. This amounts to about $10,000. This is loan money you owe to the Government. You will owe the School money and they will have the billing department on you like flies on garbage. If you want to go back to school you have to pay for those classes yourself; The Government will not cover classes you already failed. However they will “Help” you with more loans through the school. So to get back in there’s $20,000 gone, out of the $50,000 you will end up owing for the degree.
Another lie is cost. They tell you when they interview you “This is the cost.” It’s not. Every consultant will tell you only what the current cost of the school is. This doesn’t include yearly increases in tuition. If you were graduating now, that is what you would own. The school ups the amount by $2000-$4000 each year. You will end up owing substantially more than what you’ve been quoted.
Another “Ethics” problem is that the programs are set up to milk every drop of Financial Aid they can get. Once you have your Associates through Stevens Henager, you won’t have enough loans left to cover your Bachelors or to transfer to another school. The only way you really can cover school with Government Aid is if you have Pell Grant, as well as the loans. There is the Stevens Henager Loan Option. What they don’t tell you up front is that the smaller your monthly payment during school, the longer it takes to pay. When you leave school you will be making payments to Stevens Henager and Payments to the Government.
Another Lie: Free Laptop. It’s not free. You pay for it. The Consultants use the laptop to bait the student. “I need you to do *fill in the blank* so we can send you your laptop.” I’ve also heard the consultants bait people into the “Property Management” degree since if you pay money to join some association, you get 10%. That’s great, IF you are looking for Property Management. If not, they will still spin the degree so it sounds like what you are looking for. “You want to open a toy store? Great! Take Property Management and it will help you with inventory” No it won’t. I’ve also heard things like a student who was looking into Psychology be told that the programs include psychology, and that psychology is a bad degree to get. They leave out the reason they are saying that is because Stevens Henager doesn’t offer it, that Psychology is the largest growing field in the country, and that the only psychology you get is a intro course to how to be successful in school.
They also won’t tell you the credits are worth nothing to any reputable school. The quality of the education is a joke. I don’t know how they keep a “National Accreditation” since they are a diploma mill. Still, most the students coming in struggle even though it’s 10 times easier than any college worth spitting on. A current student I talked to said he felt like he sold his soul for a laptop.
They act like they are doing something very noble, that they are the students only hope. At the same time they make comments on the floor about the stupidity of the students. It’s disgusting. It’s also good to know they push the value of the degrees but those in the highest levels of Management for Online don’t even have anything besides High School themselves.
Buyer Beware. There’s cheaper colleges with better reputations. Look for Non-Profit and Regional Accreditation. Irony is that Stevens Henager Salt Lake Offices for online and Corporate is in the building next to Western Governors University. WGU is online, Regionally and Nationally accredited, well respected, and will cost you about $27K for the same Bachelors Stevens Henager has at $70K or 80K. Grand Canyon University is another really good online school. Don’t trust Stevens Henager or any of the For Profits. For Profit… this means some CEO is living high on the hog on your money, feeding off mostly people at the poverty level who will never escape the debt they just sunk themselves in, and student loan money that pushes the Government farther into debt as we sink to a AA+ Credit Rating. I think people like that deserve a quick trip to Hell for eternity.
PS They also won’t tell you school is free the first month. If you drop out, or leave, you don’t owe a penny. They intentionally don’t tell the students this so people don’t take advantage of it.
Have a good day!
My advice to those looking to go to a real college, start with a local community college then transfer. If you just want a career, again, check with the local community college as they are likely to have the same programs for WAY less. Avoid this, every SHC associated college, and any “for profit” college you see advertised on the television like the plague!
Note: for international students they pay $1100-$1400 monthy for upto 20 months.
Somebody needs to do something about this school, for the sake of some of the helpless international students who are bulied and threatened daily in that school.
If you want a Masters degree and don’t care if your future employers care about the school you got it from… go for it…. I wouldn’t re-enroll for love or money.
Promised help finding a job while in school….. not so much…. don’t hold your breath. You’ll pull your hair out just getting someone to talk to you, much less help you network.

She didn’t know much about Photoshop and nothing at all about Dreamweaver or HTML. In fact I had to instruct her in HTML and I learned from a book!
I then got a bill for $4000.00 from the school so I went in to talk to them about it. They said if I came back and finished the program the $4000.00 would go away.
I went back and finished my program and at the end of it I owed the school $4356.00! I refuse to pay them any money for the substandard education I received from their instructors.
I know several students from the school and none of us have jobs in graphic design.

When the staff is willing to work for a paper mill, there is something certainly wrong. They not only try to take your money at the school, but this guy will try to steal your money there too. Ask for a certain word count paper and he will try to pass off a couple web page links for the $40 or so bucks you paid for it. Bottom line is that this school will try to rip you off, whether through their site or others. Find another school that is reputable!
as of today (first day at the college), all they wanted from me was money, in spite of the fact that I told them that I qualify for a Pell grant. Not interested in any pell grants, just show me the cash!!!
