Much better than SUNY Canton but that’s not saying much at all. The professors I had were great/fantastic but the school and many students aren’t very academically geared unless you’re in Crane. Crane is the only thing good about this school to which they offer a lot of concerts.
Once you move in, you have 3-4 weeks of nice weather and then the winter hits and you’ll be stranded in your dorm until 2 weeks before you move out. This creates a limit with what you can do on campus and off. You would think the school would offer activities but they really don’t do much.
This school is great to go to when you have no idea what you want to do and you don’t want to spend money until you figure it out and transfer. Then again, you should just go to a community college because for that, it’s a better option.
Most students here (minus the Cranies) are from the low income brackets and the amount of obese people here is off the charts (the food is really good). This school is 3-4 hours from civilization and the town of Potsdam and surrounding towns are all the same; very small, historic, poor, and run down.
