as Sarah stated below please avoid this school, they will give you the run around and they have an extremely long waiting list for programs. Also all classes are condensed into 7 weeks which is ridiculous, Can you imagine your future nurse being rushed into learning about the human body in 7 weeks and having to retain that information for the rest of their careers? it more then likely won’t happen. while some may pass their classes they will not be able to retain much of what was taught. The teachers for the most part as rude and work is being overload, for the most part your better off taking one class at a time where as before it was easier to take 3-4 classes at a time.
Avoid this school at all costs! Avoid this school even if it means having to pay extra to attend a university. Where can I begin…Every time I call because i have a question about admissions, registration, financial aid, etc. there is no one there to answer. You call the main number and it takes you through a series of options and when you pick one of the options, hoping to speak to “someone”, you are greeted by an answering machine that tells you to leave your information and they will call you back. I have never attended a college so unhelpful! They need to figure out another system and hire knowledgeable and friendly workers. When you can’t get answers by phone you have to drive yourself there and no matter what time or where you’re coming from, it takes about an hour to get to this destination. When you get there, many of the workers are extremely rude and make it seem like it’s a HUGE INCONVENIENCE for them to answers any questions and always direct you to someone else because they think it’s not their job to help you. That’s another thing, be prepared to explain your situation to several of the staff, be it by person or phone, because they will rid of you by simply just transferring you to 2-3 different people. As far as good student/college communication goes, this school is, by far, the worst. Even colleges like, Virginia and Miller-Motte, are much more pleasant and helpful (mainly because they really want your money). Trident, however, has no competition therefore they can and will treat their students like trash. They know they offer very affordable tuition, most of their credits will transfer to a four-year college, and most of their programs come quite handy in today’s economy. This will keep people attending time and time again. Unfortunately, this is one of the main schools, here in Charleston, that offers such perks. But beware of some of the rude staff, masses and masses of people attending, ridiculous traffic, lack of parking spaces (be willing to park by the railroad tracks), two year waiting lists for academic programs, bad communication skills from the people that work in the main building of the main campus, the restrooms are always disgusting, there is never any parking (again), unqualified staff/faculty members…ah, your typical technical/community/vocational college. If you can, take all online classes or attend any other campus, like Berkeley campus if a four-year college just isn’t obtainable for you. Although, beware that the other campuses might not offer the same classes as the main campus. TTC, it’s the details that count…Future students, good luck. Every college has its highs and lows but unfortunately, Trident, is well in the dumps.
