Good class sizes, for the most part. Some large classes freshmen year. Burlington and Northern Vermont offer many outdoor activities including hiking, skiing, and even going to North Beach, right down the road in Burlington, when the weather is nice. The surrounding area is gorgeous, but it is cloudy most of the time. Burlington is a nice college town, with many interesting stores and restaurants, but it might feel constraining to those who prefer a large city. Class options are somewhat disappointing, and professors are mixed in quality. So far, the social life has been not nearly as fun as i hoped, many weekends i end up sitting in the dorms with hallmates because they are too lazy to go downtown and there are no parties that freshmen can go to. A lot of times it seems that people would rather sit around and do nothing rather than go downtown and look for concerts or go out to eat or something. If i had to choose again, i would probably pick a school close to a major city and with a more active social life.
