  • I’m a social service worker student, and I want to thank you for choosing Rodrigo Henandez as my instructor. Before I attended school, it was challenging for me to come back to the educational environment after a long absence from it. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found this programme and school because Rodrigo motivates me to study. He is with no a doubt the world’s best; he is patient, knowledgeable, and supportive.

The excellent planning of the college and the presence of dear Jennifer who was a diligent, accurate, caring and kind instructor, in addition to great memories, made me gain enough self-confidence as a newcomer and become more interested in this field every day, and immediately after graduation finding a suitable job.

  • Vancouver Career College has destroyed me financially and mentally! I graduated over 3 months ago, and still have not received my diploma! I have called the College numerous times and I keep getting excuses from them! If I was able to work hard and make sure all my assignments etc….were completed on time, then they should also be diligent about acceptable time frames! Over 3 months waiting! I cannot get a job without my diploma. Now I am back to working at a crappy job because I cannot get a job in the field that I spent way too much money on because I don’t have my diploma! So many students cheating in class too, and the college knows but will not do anything about it because a high “success” rate makes them look good. Sad thing is, it seems that those that cheated their way through a course, are the ones who somehow get hired! Do not waste your time and money at this college. There are so many more with a much better reputation for you to go to, and they will help you get a job. They really care about their students (other colleges, not VCC) VCC only cares about the money they collect from their students, and to top it off, they charge triple what most other institutions charge. My advice…look for your desired program elsewhere! My preferred future career goals are ruined because of them! And, I have been destroyed financially!

  • I successfully completed the Education Assistant program with Vancouver Career College in 2002. My instructor was great, but the rest of the staff was less than accommodating. I have lost out on securing a job in my new training due to the fact that after many months waiting, and still waiting for my diploma! There are many other colleges to go to that cost 2/3 less for the exact same program. The practicum portion did not provide the necessary experience, and most school districts do not recognize VCC, and will not hire you, but are more than willing to take you on for the practicum (free labor). I would not recommend this college to anyone….it has basically destroyed my future career goals, and significantly depleted my bank account! $15,000 down the tube. I took this course seriously, and was so excited about becoming an education assistant, and now I am so depressed because of the lying and waiting for my diploma from VCC. VCC has pretty much destroyed my future career goals just so they can fatten their own pockets. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH VCC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I took the Early Childhood Education program, at Vancouver Career College, with Mia Saulog. With upmost respect, she is the kind of teacher, we all wish we get. Her lectures are just right. She explains the material from a logical point of view and also, from her personal experience; which allows students to embody the lesson, thus put it to practice. As someone who is on the Autism Spectrum, my passion is to serve God, with the gifts He has given me; thus help others which similar struggles, I have faced and do face. If you are contemplating, between this program, at this school or at a university, I truly recommend Mia. You will get more out of life, if the teacher’s heart is in it – and therefore, gifts you with their light, to carry it forth, to next generations to come.

There courses are way overpriced, and they accept anyone willing to pay. They also tend to prey on new immigrants who don’t have many options. They will get you to sign binding documents, and when you find out what a joke there instructors and curriculum is and try to leave they will pull out there contract and make you pay regardless or destroy your credit and character. Horrible people, the government should step in and shut down these terrible manipulative money hungry so called schools. !!!!!!!!

  • DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL!!! This is the most disorganized, rude and backwards run school i have ever been a part of. I first signed up at the Coquitlam Campus, after I signed all the paperwork is when they told me that campus doesn’t carry the HealthCare Assistant program and I would have to go to the Burnaby campus. Then at the start of the course we only got a E-book, but we weren’t allowed to have any electronics in the lab, so I tried to get a physical copy of the MANDITORY BOOK OF ALL INFORMATION FOR LABS!! The school refused to even sell me one, and wouldn’t even acknowledge how upsetting and backwards this was for a healthcare program to not provide a physical book that will be the main reference for the WHOLE PROGRAM!! and would not allow the electronic devices to access the Ebook that they provide. And that will only be the beginning of the frustration that you will experience if you go here. JUST DONT GO HERE

  • I learned a lot from the Education Assistant Program (PM Class). My teacher was Mr. Cedric Quiocho and I can say that he was a very effective instructor. He had so much experience in the field and with that he was able to share valuable knowledge that we would need to be successful. He was so exceptional when it comes to lecture delivery, as he explains each material well. There were opportunities for group work, independent study, projects, video learning and self-directed modules. He met the needs of every student in our class when I was there and make sure that everyone understand the concepts. He relates all our lessons to a more practical approach on what is truly happening in school. I would recommend anyone to take the EA Program at this campus specifically the PM Class with Cedric. Great individual and a great educator! I know that my other classmates would exactly say what I said on this review about Cedric. Thank you again!

When we asked questions she didn’t know the answers and she’s not a professional instructor at all.

We complained to the student administrator, he said that the best teacher they got.

They took advantage of that a convinced me to enroll, Only to find out that the Diploma isn’t recognized anywhere. No one wants to hire a Vancouver Career College Graduate. I wasn’t even taught relevant procedures, or how to file and s**t. I was taught Law and that’s it. • Currently taking the Paralegal program. I should have looked more carefully into the school (negative reviews have been extremely accurate). What this Career College sells is that they have small class sizes, meaning more attention to the students…however, from what I’ve found, the students work better on their own and there are major problems with teachers and complaints. My course was insanely expensive..it’s a 2 year program condensed into 1 (yay?) but I WISH I hadn’t believed that meant I’d get better training and to find work in the legal field quickly. I have attended interviews where HR has kindly informed me that most corporate firms will not hire a student from Vancouver Career College because they lack the training required. Students have complained about teachers and those teachers have NEVER received discipline (they’re eager to keep their professors). For Paralegal or LAA programs, I suggest Vancouver COMMUNITY College or Capilano University. For skilled trades and medical training: DEFINITELY search elsewhere!

Most of instructors are very professional and helpful during the class. I heard from the practicum places, this school has a very good reputation. Also, the school provided the big support for the graduates to find a job after passing the board exam. After my preceptorship, I already got an interview from the manager. I feel very confident and competence as a nurse in the future career.

  • Very unprofessional school and teacher.

Attended the Electrical Foundations course. You may as well do the course from home because they just make you read the book at school with very little practical.

You pay for a tool depreciation fee of more than $1000 but do very little practical.

The teacher was very arrogant and would show up 2 hours past the start time. His excuse was “this is studying time”.What’s the point in even having those 2 hours of course time when you could do that studying at home?? Obviously the teacher benefited from this and the student gets screwed 2 hours of their time that they paid for.

The teacher was also very confrontational and defensive once we the students complained about his poor quality of teaching. Every student in my course complained about the poor quality of teaching from this teacher.

The very little practical that we had, and I do stress very little, was so rinky dink because there was no structure to it, and it felt like that they just came up with it at the spur of the moment. We just had one of those Radio Shack electronics kits to mess around with no expected outcome/goal.

The overall feeling about the teacher is that he was playing psychological head games with the students and try to put students down and peg students against each other.

I never missed a day, passed the ITA test, but never got a job out of this. What a big waste of government funded money.

I didn’t come out of this course feeling happy or proud about it as one should. I felt very outraged and cheated by this very scandalous school. How can these people look at themselves in the mirror everyday knowing that they’ve cheated people out of a proper education?

I personally would NOT recommend this school to anyone. They should be shut down.

  • Probably one of the worst schools. The trades programs are absolute trash, the teachers do not care at all if u fail or not and simply do not give a single care about it. You simply ask a question to one of them you are either going to get an answer to go read your book again ( when he should just simply explain what the student is asking which is his job), or you will get sworn at and be an outcast of the class. Do not do any trades programs here, teachers absolute garbage , no respect towards students and how they each learn. Wait a year and get into BCIT or go to SprattShaw. Much cheaper and way better learning.

Again, similar to many posts-very discriminatory toward students and staff (depending on which person likes you). in fact its a Human Rights topic for discussion that will be pursued! They are so disorganized, I never knew what class I was taking next or what room I was in, as they were always changing. The tablets they force you to buy are completely useless and don’t work. I am ECE student and I am so happy to choose this college and getting to know an educated instructor such as Rubina Raza. she has two degrees in masters and being a student of her is a great pleasure and honour to me. I have seen so many professors in my academic life and Rubina Raza is one of the sophisticated ones. although she is strict in teaching , who ever has a little academic education knows that people with high quality education and experience in teaching wants the students have diligence and perseverance in what ever their goal is, let alone being an ECE instructor and have responsibility to educate students who wants to raise, educate and deal with the children.
If you are interested in ECE, Rubina Raza by her patience and high knowledge can help you to be a qualified ECE .
unfortunately I read unkind comments about Rubina Raza. I have to say that if you can not fallow the simplest rules such as being punctual, completing assignments in deadline or respecting all the ideas how can you be a trustable ECE for parents? you all choose this college and ECE by your own decision so it looks more mature if we are dissatisfied with some body first talk to her and then write comments about her.

Though English is my second language, teachers helped out me a lot not only to understand my lessons but also to improve my English skills. I studied early childhood education in Vancouver campus. If you have the chance to take your courses with Rubina Raza, be sure that she will give you the confidence to start your career right after your graduation as an ECE teacher or even start your own daycare. The way she is interacting with the students is exactly the way we are expected to behave as an ECE teacher like setting rules, explaining expectations, instructing and giving feedback. I think that’s the reason I found a job right away and still have more job offers. I am using the valuable information I learnt during my studies there in my day to day job and whenever I have questions my instructor is always there to help me. At the end, I think they behave us as students who are supposed to get a job and make a career rather than high school students who are looking for having fun and just getting a degree. Also I want to thank Monica as the campus manager, because she is very supportive and always does her best to listen to the students and solve their problems. At the very first stage that I applied for this college their helps to instruct me how to get financial aids and doing administrative processes was a great encouragement for me to attend this school.

  • After I attended this college, I was so disappointed because of the instructor named Rubina Raza, she has favoritism with other of her students, so biased, she hated Filipinos, she doesn’t follow the right schedule of the modules, she always put her students in a difficult time, she even gave them a homework during their Christmas vacation and assumed for them to finish it on time, she didn’t give them enough time to finish that assignment. She assumed other of her students can finish intro computers in their school for one week but however those students need 2 weeks to finish it, and she even put them some pressure to finish their intro to practicum within 2 days. do you think it’s unfair? The students think it is unfair! She even says that once you are late within 15 mins in the morning, she will be closing the doors and will not accept student, but on the other hand she is the one who is late. We pay how much in this school 15-16k and this is what we are going to receive from them? They don’t even provide them enough materials for any activities they are giving, they want their students to buy their own materials, which is very very unfair for everyone. Even so we want to talk to their director in the school, they don’t give a single fck about their students physically, emotionally and mentally., Monica the director and Rubina the instructors are both allies in this situation. Most of Rubina’s class dislikes her, she is an angel in front of her students but once she’s on her back, she is turning into a devil. A daughter of Satan, she believes in old-fashion way of teaching, strict, but she always says things into different way, into a nice way. She even said we cannot use plastic utensils, yet once we took food safety, our instructor that day said plastic utensils are more approvable to use in daycare. Her contradictions are wrong. She doesn’t know how to accept her mistakes or she is not taking a responsibility on her own mistakes, she always put it onto her students, she always says I didn’t teach that to you, then you are pertaining that we made up those test answers on our own? And if a student is having a hard time in English, why not just help her than telling her that, “you graduated in a language and literature?” like do you think that statement connects into something? No, it doesn’t. You always explain and discuss a lot for our modules, but you never realized that sometimes you are detouring in your lecture, some discussions are not connected to our lectures, and if one student is going to ask you a question, you don’t know how to reply, because you always get lost. So, because of you most of the students are having a difficult time. And one more thing, please fix that “time management” of yours, don’t put your students on spot because you are always late? Sort your time management properly.

  • VACC Abbotsford LPN program gave me the worst two years of my life. The teacher turnover is outrageous, you will have a new teacher ever my month- each one of them will teach you different and give you 0% for labs and assignments the previous teacher was giving you 100% for. The PN coordinator and the other lead nursing instructor are bullies and will turn everything around to make it “your fault”…you can never be right and your opinion doesn’t matter here. There is no support and they do not care. They voice their opinions of your class to other classes, and let you know that your class isn’t as liked as the other classes…you’re constantly torn down and compared to the other classes because you stand up for yourself and don’t bend over for them. The lab equipment is garbage and expired in the 90s. Everything is expected to be self taught, they will ALWAYS tell you to “look it up” when you have a question. When you go out on practicums your teacher will tell the nurses you’re shadowing that you like to argue, are too quiet, need extra help, ect to make you look really bad, even if none of it is true! First of all, they are waaaaay more expensive than any other school, their teachers do not need to be qualified teachers, some classes only require the teachers to have 2 years experience in whatever field they are teaching. The admission lady will make it sound like a wonderful investment and that you will easily be able to pay off any student loans, however I have heard from numerous reviews and people, employers will not hire from this school so good luck finding a job afterwards. They say they have practicum placement, but when it comes time you have to find it yourself. The material is basically self taught, and is mostly copy and pasted from sites on the internet you can find for free. They do not care about their students. One girl I knew got pregnant, and they were going to kick her out if she missed more than a week after having the baby. Utter lack of compassion and respect for any student. The faculty turn over rate is huge. SUCH A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! do your research, do not apply to this bullshit school, they will accept anyone, even non English speaking international students, and charge them more! It takes her about 1 hr to do this so we sit in class for 4 hrs doing nothing! She knows we have nothing to do but still makes us sit there. She’s always on her computer…I wonder what she’s doing, definitely not her job! She can’t even be bothered to mark our tests correctly; always changing the rules. Whenever you try to confront her about anything she gets her back up and acts like a child. I am an adult in my 30’s and I can honestly say that she is the worst teacher I have ever had, don’t even know how she got the job. She is also borderline racist. We have about 5-6 women from different parts of the world in the class. They totally understand and speak in English but she is constantly telling them they have to pronounce better, that “children won’t understand you”. I ask, how do you know they will even be teaching at an English speaking daycare? Everyone in the class can understand them but this teacher is so ignorant she expects perfection from them. She generalizes and stereotypes these women, constantly asking them how it is in their country and that “in china they make all their children do lots of school work”. The instructor of the head of school don’t do anything to make your learning comfortable or at least give you service for the money paid. And compulsory iPad was just a money making thing since I paid $550. The school must have got it cheaper coz it bought so many but we still had to pay $550. We face weekly bombardment on meeting the numbers and head count. No one talked about progress or education at these conference calls. Just numbers, leads, closing rate, fired or bonus. Stone cold process. Numbers, why missing he target, click, hung up, next campus. I was forced to make cold calls on Internet inquiries despite the fact that some of these leads were merely an indication of interest instead of solid interest from a prospective student. The marching order is to turn ice into boiling water. Use iPad, low interest loans, largest in Canada, guaranteed jobs to feed the pigs then slaughter them. No senior advisor is willing to help the newbies because every body count can mean job or jobless by the next review.

After Eminata bought UCW, first order of business was to target immigrant students because they tend to be pushovers and less likely to complaint about anything. I was instructed to inform an Indian student that if he complaints about the school, he will loose his student visa immediately. The student promptly shut up. Management quoted “international students are fatter pigs and easier to be slaughtered.”. It was funny how they said it in a meeting. I quit!

    Dear Peter,

SUbject: Unethical, Integrity Issues, Unfair Practices and Unacceptable Behavior

“It is not known what “PRIVATE” college you received your education from, but it is
obvious that you did not gain any schooling on people management. Your managerial
skills are so poor that your employees are surprised that you have survived this long in
the corporate world. Sometimes they question the intelligence of this company for hiring
such an incompetent individuals such as yourself.” – common quote from the majority.
The purpose of this letter is to notify you ALL but most importantly Dr. Peter Chung
about what upper, middle, and lower management is doing behind his back and the
negative and devastating effect it’s about to take on the company(s).

We’re a group of people who work for the EMINATA group and a large number of
students who have attended a school at some point owned by EMIN AT A group who have
decided enough is enough. We have started a systematic attack on this company to make
things ethical and fair not only to the employees of the company but the general student
body and public. We are giving Dr. Peter Chung an opportunity to learn and take
personal responsibility as to what is happening behind his back and most importantly to
make things right. So the same mistakes are not repeated from the past like they were in
LA. We wish someone had given you heads up and we’re very confident you would have
resolved the issues in a proper and ethical manner.

    Let’s start with unfair practices:

Mid and low level management hires who they want (friend, girlfriend, boyfriend, family,
ex-coworkers) and this is by them deciding which positions to advertise and which ones
not too. Their qualifications are always overlooked and rest of the people are asked to
cover for their work because they’re “NEW”. We demand that you ask your staff and get
a consensus of who hired who and who do they know within the company and if they
    worked together elsewhere.

Campus directors and most new regional directors have no clue as what PCTIA policies
are and are always breaking them but most importantly what can really get EMINAT A
shut down entirely is the FACT that both regional directors and campus directors
COACH the staff to fool PCTIA. We have a proof of this in mwtiple forms and we are
100% confident that no court system will throw this out the window. Campus directors
are not following exam policies written by the company when it comes to students failing
exams and are not unifonn. We have proof some directors make indirect sexual favors to
give an attractive student another attempt where if a unattractive or old student it’s a
    complete NO.
There is way too much staff recycled from SPROTT -SHAW, VCAD, AI, MTI,
ACADAMY OF LEARNING, etc. Think about it this way, if these rejects were not
successful their why do you have them hired here? Are they friends perhaps? Someone
else’s garbage is now your garbage and you’re paying them to keep this garbage. People
like Vic Tesan have infested this company by bringing in his friends and family who
have gotten more incompetent heads into this company. Did you know they have also
gotten free education for their family and friends as well? A fair practice would be to hire
and promote within if you want success. There are a lot of dedicated staff that should be
promoted. We have a list of most of the people who have hired in this manner and they
know who they’re and majority are struggling to gain control.

Remember the person you hired to run your company is the same person who was
bidding against you with CCI to buy it out under your nose with his “investors”. This is
how the price was driven up and Randy Cox couldn’t come up with the funds to outbid
Dr. Peter Chung. Talk about sabotage, and we have voice and video proof of Randy
blabbering his mouth about going public so he and his hired friends can take control of
the company because they them you’re a cheap Korean Jew. This is the best tip here
alone is worth what you’re going to spend in legal fees.

Since our numbers have been growing faster than we expected we have decided to fonn a
student union because no one should be treated unfairly and to get Employment
Standards involved we the majority employees are fonning a union to put an end to
unfairness. We are watching all levels of management and keeping detailed records and if
changes are not made and implemented within this month class action law suits will take
place from both employees and student side and we would hate to see this company
repeat it’s mistakes and get crippled twice as it did in LA. We want to see all the
incompetent staff from other schools fired who keep bringing in their friends and bully
    the old staff.

You have staff from other institutions that constantly talk to their friends and share trade
secrets on how EMINATA operates. We have recordings of this and campus level staffis
willing to take a stand to this statement. There are also plans to take control of the
company as soon as it goes public. Someone is having power/control issues.
    Student Issues:

Integrity issues due to campus directors no following policy and giving students false
hope as there are too many ESL students that are setup to fail by sales people and this
practice is promoted by the campus directors and DOA.
Too many mid-level managers hired who are friends of rejects from other organizations.
Basically the staff keeps changing every few months and students are frustrated because
they’re promised different things by different people. The directors are not taking
    responsibility .

Students feel frustrated with the campus directors because they cannot fulfil what has
been promised to the student. Students are being enrolled in a unethical manner
sometimes two or three months before their actual start dates. This leaves huge gaps in
their schedules and student load frowns upon this and will be notified. You are messing
with innocent people and their lives by wasting someone two months of time and messing
up their car payments or mortgage payments.

Student body has determined that this company’s goal is profit or market dominance at
any price because there are more students now under new ownership that the reps have
brought in who are crap quality and don’t deserve to be in school at this point in their life
because they lack the basic reading and writing skills. Students have complained the fact
reps are helping students cheat with the entrance exams and make them do it over and
    over.

It has come to our attention that a certain DOA has sexually engaged Vancouver students
and staff and as a reward they’ve been promoted. DOA is a piece of garbage that hits on
every student and makes negative and sexual comments towards students and staff.
Sexual favors have been performed and documents. He has been seen drunk with students
at bars and touching them in a very inappropriate manner. Proof and legal action
    pending …

There is no consistency from campus to campus and staff should have a good command
of the English language! Students should be qualified thoroughly before being accepted
    and same with the staff.

EMINATA group is cheating student’s hard earned money by setting them up to fail by
playing tricks to get them in. This is on your conscience Dr. Peter Chung.
We’re watching you and change is required immediately, this letter is being forwarded to
many authorities and to the competition. Ie PCTIA, sprott shaw, Korean council, BBB,
Board of trade, CTV, MTI, Stenberg, global, CDA, pharmacy/medical authority, all
    employers who hire your graduates.
    Sincerely,
    Occupy Campus ….

We are watching to see changes. In 2012 you better make changes before you go IPO,
otherwise image, impression and public reputation can be easily tainted. We will be
keeping a close eye on your businesses.

    Peace!!

For those who have considered or have applied to this school RUN. This school is run by a Big board of Directors who are in for your money called Eminata group who owns CDI College, Vancouver Career College, Vancouver College of Design and University Canada West all which have very bad reviews and upset students. employers i know WILL NOT hire students from this school. All have been in news for infamous reasons. Why do i know so much, my bf used to work there and he told me if it wasnt for the money he would have left. All admissions reps are paid by commissions aka YOUR MONEY and he says he would not even take a single course even if its FREE!!!.

The whole experience has been a complete and total nightmare. The first 2 teachers I had quit. It seems like they just “wing-it” when this is someone’s future and $15,000 on the line. But the school does have your money and you must be one in hundreds who have had a positive experience. I had to find my own practicum even when the school bragged that there were tons of places to get one. Once I mentioned which school I was with, they were quick to respond that they used to, but no longer accecpt practicum students. That’s because they don’t have the time to teach the students properly from just reading textbooks and repetition. Not too sure who you are referring to as “social degenerates” or “social awkward individuals”, I got my practicum and good grades because I worked my ass off without any help.

Yes, they are lacking in some areas…not all courses provide practicums, but overall, I think they are very helpful and friendly. I know that getting in is easy because they just want your money, but it’s what you make of it that counts. If you want to be successful and have the right attitude, you’ll make it. I know quite a few people who have graduated from this campus and have found jobs within the 1st couple of months. A few were even hired from their practicums. I also think it depends on what course you are taking. If that field is saturated, you’re not going to find a job.

When a potential student walks in or inquires online, the eyes of the recruiters light up and all they see is a big ‘ol “$”. They become your best friend, do anything to make you feel welcome and get you to sign that paper. They are outgoing, smiling, cheerfull and eager to assist you. They want to get you started “right” away, waste no time to help you apply for financial assistance. You think to yourself “wow, this is going to be a great school, the staff is so nice.” They show off the marks, which are posted in the hall to boast about how well the students excell in thier classes. Marks don’t count, you do well because they drill the information by repitition. They hand out rewiews the day before an exam with what you need to know to pass. Then your thiers. Everything is great for the first few months, you can go to them for “anything”, “don’t hesitate to ask”, “we are here for you”. Ha Ha Ha. Once you get your final student loan signed and delivered to their hands, everything changes. They have your money, so why help you now. The staff became distant and “too busy”, as well as some becoming rude. They don’t assist in finding you a practicum. If you don’t get hired afterward, your required to go back for another week and learn how to job search. It was nothing but a big fat joke. To them you are only a number, an $11,000.00 one at that.

  • So I was about to enroll in Vancouver Career College. It was listed on the ITA approved school for trades program. I called and got a meeting with an admissions advisor. They were very friendly and gave me a pre-entry exam. I gotta say, this pre-entry exam was a joke.. I passed the english great but barely passed the mathematics part. the only question i got correct on mathematics were the simple additions, subtractions, multiplications and division questions and that was enough to pass me even without doing the high school level math questions. (and in this trade i was applying to, you NEED math11 in public institutions). So they marked it on the spot than the advisor goes through it with me and it turns out the marker is a total goof. there were questions i got right and were marked wrong, or wrong and got marked right. She ensured me it’s alright this test gets reviewed by the manager or something so it was ok. I didn’t care cause I was just happy i passed and got in. She gives me the start dates and tell me about the program and eagerly told me to deposit 150$ to ensure my spot. I shouldn’t be suspicious about schools or education institutions that are approved by ITA but this one just rubbed me the wrong way. I trusted my gut and said I don’t have the money with me and will do it tomorrow. So she agrees and gives me her cell phone number (have you ever heard of a post secondary addmissions giving you their cell phone number to ensure you enroll?) and it was made apparent she is a “sales advisor” to get people to enroll.

So I thought long and hard about it and figured I want to enroll because I can start immediately (while public schools for this program have high prerequisites or long wait lists). It sounded too good to be true but yet I was ready to register. I came in the day after to register and figured the program would cost 3000$ and 1000$ for books which is what the public schools charge and she shows me a bill of almost $12000. Triple the price. I told her that other public schools are cheaper and she flat out lies to me that the 12000$ includes items such as the equipment, practicum, tools etc which in the end is the same as the other schools. I knew that was a lie because I have a friend who after buying his own equipment etc. with BCIT still didn’t exceed 4000$. I told her and she was caught in a lie and she tries to sell the fact that the practicum which bcit doesn’t offer and the “extensive” employer list they are affiliated with makes up for the extra 7000$. I told her I had to think about the costs yet she kept pushing me to get a student loan because this is for my future and I must act now! When i got home, i read a ton of reviews for VCC and am so glad I didn’t enroll

this is the tuition difference for the trade I wanted
    BCIT
    tuition – 3000$
    books – 978$
    registration – 75$

    VCC
    tuition – 9000$
    books – 1800$
    registration – 150$

Of course Langara College and Douglas College have superior programs, they actually screen their students and request prerequisites so that they get students that can actually finish their programs. They only accept so many thus the long wait list.

Grab a brain and do some research. Obviously this school isn’t in the top one hundred best colleges in the province. It is a private for-profit school with a zero reputation. However, I’ve been told by Canadian government officials that:
Open Quote ” the study does not lead to a degree as authorized by the province/territory. “ end quote.

Also within the industries, plenty of companies tend to have a Question-mark by the Diploma gained.

  • I have attended Vancouver Career College, but found absolutely NO help in gaining a practicum through this college since the most clinics say that it’s the school’s job to know where to place their students and through only the school can students apply. I have told the director this information, but all he did was shake his head in disbelief. I have also been told I would be helped right away. That was twice once a week. Now I can’t even see the director since he’s “busy” with everyone else!!!

Can anyone tell me who I need to contact to complain about this college?
I will check this site often. Thanks.

  • Vancouver Career College: This school i would not recommend to anyone. It is a rip off a con school they do not change lives through education they destroy them. This school will do anything for their bottom line. Having attended this school very briefly I learnt quickly at the different levels of corruption. People whom can’t pass a basic entrance exam are helped to pass, just to get them to enrol l, so the rep can make their commission. They are then signed up for more expensive and longer programs and once they have started and start to have difficulties they are told that they are just nervous they will do fine just continue and once their 3 months are up they tell you that you need to maybe look at a less difficult program something sorter. Sorter programs mean less money but not for you because you have already been there for 3 months and one of the contracts that they get you to sign states that after a certain period of time they don’t have to pay you back. So your stuck paying an atrocious amount for a program that you never really wanted to do but because of student loans its better than nothing. Nothing is organized the director doesn’t care what is going on they are more concerned about lunch and cig brakes and when they can leave to go to the pub. Advice stay away if you don’t want to be in debt
