One student review of Yonsei University : Seoul

  • Jesse says:

I went to Yonsei at the Seoul campus as part of an international summer program back in 2007 and it was very enjoyable and stimulating. I was there on behalf of the University of California study abroad program, EAP, along with students from other countries and programs. During the summer, the professors are mostly guests it seemed like from other countries and universities around the world, including UC. The course options were surprisingly interesting and the professors seemed to be rather passionate about teaching and probably were also enjoying their time in Korea. The staff that Yonsei provided to help us with problems were amazing, they even hooked us up with second hand mobile phones for crazy cheap while we were there, and the housing was super nice apartments in Sinchon near all the nightlife. Everyone in the program was friendly and the surrounding area of the campus is very clean and beautiful with many trees, small restaurants, and Sinchon is one of the best locations in Seoul for everything from shopping to going out at night. Overall probably one of the best memories I have from my college years. One of my courses was about global hip hop culture, which is huge in Korea, and I was able to interview one of the most well known graffiti artists in Seoul as part of my final class project. Korea is a small yet amazing place.
    Overall Score: (4.45/5.00)
