One student review of University of Dallas

  • Lolita says:

Very poor monitoring of undergraduate development/mentoring. Little to no preparation for graduates not seeking further degrees (one meeting vs the tens of meetings about prepping for grad school). Not affordable. Immediate area is confining (highways, plains, no shops) unless you have a car for the 15 min drive to Dallas or Fort Worth. Administration shows completely no interest in student’s health or well-being and are more interested in enforcing unfair or unethical policies than helping students. Students with depression find few resources or support beyond campus ministry. There is no advising department so the over-burdened, unqualified professors are your degree coaches, often unknowingly leading you in the wrong direction. This administrative department is more interested in removing problem student (depressed, average students, poor students, local students) than in providing them with resources to succeed, leading to a graduation rate of only 65% in six years. The education is top-notch with qualified professors in small classes, but the lack of post-college training, networking, affordability, clear and commendable administration, and an advising department make attendence here not highly recommended. Socially, students run in cliques are generally overly religious, close-minded and arrogant.
