2 Student Reviews of Centennial College : Centre for Creative Communications

  • I would like to speak to someone in the ministry of colleges about my experience with Centennial College in Toronto Ontario. I attending the Centre for Creative Communications at Centennial for three years and had a horrible experience. Dean, Nate Horowitz is a horrible administrator and needs to be replaced. He only shows up to work for a pay cheque and couldn’t care less if any student or graduate has work or is happy with their education. I recently graduated from my 3 year programs in Broadcasting and Film and still have yet to find work, centennial has almost no way of helping me find work. I noticed they added a course the year after I graduated called “Screenwriting 2”. During my time at centennial, screenwriting was the one and only class that was worth my time, so I asked the school, as an alumni of the college, can I take just that one class to further my skills as a writer (of course I am willing to pay). Dean Horowitz denied me, and said if I want to take that class, I need to take the entire 3 year program that I JUST graduated from. This is pathetic behaviour from an educational institution. A massive slap to the face. This school does NOT find work for its grads, this school DOES NOT care about students, This school is ran by a horrible lazy man, and this school will never get a referral from me. I am ashamed that I went to this college, please look into Mr. Horowitz, I assure you he has done NOTHING to help anyone or the school. He is a bitter, old man that has denied education to an Alumni. I noticed he renamed the school this, it use to be called Center for Creative Comminciatiosn, now its something like school of media design, most likely changed because when you google Center for Creative Communications, you find nothing but horrible reviews on this pathetic excuse for an educational institution.

  • This is my second year at Centennial College. It’s a very small school and cozy school. There are different programs ranging from interactive media, to art to broadcasting and film. You will always have your good teachers and your bad. However, POOR administrative staff (the two in front desk). They are rude and never happy. It seems like they hate their job and hates students too. Also a lot of my friends and I had trouble with the enrollment admins even after told we were accepted into the program. They must’ve lost our sheets.

Other than the admins, all the professors have many experience in their field. Educating you on what’s best and how you can strive forward in the industry.
The CCC campus also offers you an equipment room where you can rent out those thousand dollars cameras for interviews and projects.

Last but not least, never buy food from the cafeteria. Last spring 2012 they charged you $6 for a regular sandwich! Now they dropped it down to $4. There are several restaurants around the area, you just have to walk a bit.
