The institutional and departmental leadership is at best pathetic. In one school, the dean only has a bachelor’s degree and has poor listening skills. Associate dean also is into micromanagement and organizational politics. Their focus is only on recruiting students so more funding from various sources could be obtained. Students easily get away with doing plagiarism and disrespecting faculty members. Deans, associate deans, VP, etc. all feel insecure by the presence of the Univ. of Alberta in the same city (Edmonton). The institution is full of incompetent people in decision making positions.
