6 Student Reviews of Winnipeg Technical College : Henlow

  • This “college” is a joke it’s more like junior high. The staff is awful. They are extremely unorganized and should not be running a school. Two big problems well I attended were the teacher could not decide on the dates we had off for exam week and they finally gave us a date to return after midterms the day of the first exam, but then they decided to change it. I managed to hear from a student who said one teacher told him it had changed so I arrive on the correct day but half the class was missing. The next day the teacher told all the students that missed they say were marked absent and insisted that he announced during the exam that the date was change. Every student in the class agrees he did not announce it once. This same teacher frequently tells students when they don’t know the answer that they shouldn’t be in this course and should just drop out and try to get some money back, in front of the entire class. Also the recognition of prior learning has a date that they no longer allow you to apply for it. Although nobody knows what this date is, nor is it written anywhere on the website but they insist it is, so be sure to check that out right away. One other problem with the school is there is absolutely nothing to do during lunch hour. Red river college has a library, store, a few cafeterias, a gym , a place to play games. I highly recommend you go to red river college instead a much better experience. Also this review isn’t from some kid who is failing and hating the course they are in. I do enjoy the course I’m in on the days things are actually planned out And I’m doing very well with a 90 average. I have also attended red river and had a much better experience. Avoid this school at all costs you will be disappointed. I only wish I had read the reviews before then I would have waited the extra 6 months to go to red river

    Overall Score: (1.36/5.00)
  • A waste of time and (hard earned) money! Did not get a job in the field despite being near top of the class. They skew the results of students who got jobs after graduating. All they are interested in is collecting your money!

    Overall Score: (2.54/5.00)
  • This so-called “college” is a complete waste of money. Some of the instructors are assholes who play favouritism. If you do not exceed in their class, they don’t care about you. This college is the biggest joke and would never recommend it to anyone. WTC appears to look more like a middle school rather than a college.

    Overall Score: (3.09/5.00)
  • Go to RedRiver College if you’re interested in taking welding. The wing of the Henlow campus building that houses the trades is an absolute dump. The air is filled with fumes from the small engine repair course. I have no idea how they get away with it since I bet the carbon monoxide levels would be too high for occupational health and safety laws.

Class room noise from other shop areas is too high to even concentrate and if it’s brought up to counselors or instructors your concerns are ignored. Go to Red River where the course is shorter and the school is run in a much more professional manner.

    Overall Score: (2.18/5.00)
  • The school administration staff is borderline retarded and utterly incompetent. The educators are finished unprofessinal washouts that i wouldn’t consider hiring for the same field. The facilities are of the lowest quality and standards i couldn’t stand to be there any longer.

    Overall Score: (1.36/5.00)
  • anon pembina campus is adirty rundown pit we froze in the winter bathrooms are filthy alot of the teachers are old burnedout lemons that wouldnt get a job at walmart
