My Aplus experience with a wonderful hygienist student was great!! However it was different about the whole athmosfere of the clinic… The staff shortage /intructors creating a very stressful environment for the students . 17 students working on their own patients has only 2 instructors on the site . This is not teaching no time for it!! Teachers are exhausted!!! Only have time for checking… Should be every 1 instructor for 3 students … than I can call it school! I’m surprised this school is still operating with this kind of way… Nobody complained yet about it?? It’s crazy…The owner doesn’t want to pay more intructors ?????maybe , that’s the reason to takes up a whole day (8-5)to finish one patient .Instructor M. Is not a patient friendly person and she gave mark reduction for the student to telling her “I have lose teeth “which I did not. (I’m a dental professional too ..she didn’t know) …. they creating problem for the students every way, not to pass them just make them repeat the semester to pay more money to the school..as I heard from others… very military facility..
I studied here in intake 28,i did lot of homework before I choose this college. Discussed with many friends and Google research finally joined here for diploma program. Firstly I want to say the program is not an easy one but needs lot of patience and hard work to complete it. We were hit by pandemic covid in first semester but still school supported in the best way they can. We had online lectures and in person clinical training. Overall we were able to finish the course in good way during crisis of covid. The management is helpful and understanding students and will support students always their best.but that means students has to do their part too. We had extra classes clinics what ever needed to make sure the students learn about things they needed before they graduate. Teachers were kind and nice throughout the program never felt any discrimination any stage. We had a nice program director Cathy whom we can approach any time for any issues and she always supports students and help students to pass on anything we need between students and management. She is such a wonderful lady who did her best to make sure we are on track and finish program on time. Clinic lead Christin Ryan she was always with students in clinical training and theory classes.Any time any one can approach her for help was like coolest of all instructors and wants all students of her to be successful in outside world and tried her best to make us relaxed and take the clinic and program less stressful.we learned lot things from her great experience she shares and made study more easier. I would like to thank Martha who was the energetic person who knows A to Z of clinical work. I always use to have hard time in learning different movements and techniques in instruments and just ask her anytime how to do it she will have a answer and solution for it.she know the perfect way and can solve any troubles we face in pre clinic while learning instrumentation.my clients used to tell me oh your instructor she has a strong hand the way your instructor hold or touch mouth they feel she knows everything of mouth.they used to trust this instructor and makes us also more confident.Another great instructor Parinaz she has unique way of teaching clinical skills and she was like known among our batch as perfect instructor.She tries her best to make us all learn things in perfect way. She may feel tough in the beginning but later you will know and see how good she is working with you to make you learn things in clinic. She has patience and helps you always in clinic to learn more about debridment skills. We had another instructor Roxane Ryan she was very kind and always there for all students in clinic and helped us with small small tricks to improve our clinical skills and she was very cool with students. Would like to thank another instructor Melody for teaching us in clinic. Lastly all teaching staff and non teaching staff who helped us to learn things and finish the course on time.
The program is not an easy one we need lot of patience and hard work to complete it on time.if you are not hard working and thinks to get easy certificate stay away from this program. TANYA AND SIMON from management they always do their best to make sure students pass out with skills. School follow some rules and regulations to make sure all are treated equally and fairly so some people may not like it always and complain about school etc. There is no perfect school or place if you are ready to study and work hard this school is best for doing the course.
I am really happy I joined here and passed course and now successful in my career.I am really thankful for the learning I did here now I am able to successfully work in real world clinics without any trouble. Always check the board exam pass percent from this school it will be always highest in the province they train you best to pass board exam in first attempt
Finally this is just my perspective about what I done at this place and I will recommend this place for anyone who wants to become successful hygienist.

I would like to thank Aplus Institute staff and professors for the amazing learning experience i had throughout the 1, 5 years in Dental Hygiene program. They gave me amazing hands on experience that helped me escalate in my job now. The staffs are friendly and accommodating. Thank you!

My dad is a dentist and i’ve shadowed him for about a year before i actually enrolled into Dental hygiene school. I’ve completed my programm this year and i have to say i really enjoyed my time at A Plus. It was intense and stressfull, we had to study a lot, but it worth it!
I have to say that this program is not for everyone, if you have no clue about dental hygiene or zero medical experience – it will be quite hard to catch up. There is a lot of self-educating moments when you actually have to sit down with books and read and do research.
Overall, i would totally recomend this school to those who want to become dental hygenist. Great place to get knowledge and practice.
Best college, best staff, best method of teaching and best instructors. I would maybe improve organization process a bit. Every class has a settings to make everyone understand and pass to build a career. Got a lot of hands-on practice and chances to work with actual patients. I would recommend A Plus!

I was referred to this Very Important Dental School through my dear 87 year old mother, Mrs. Helene Shore who was a patient here several years ago who strongly recommended that I contact the school to get some dental work done.
Their school has been around since 1996 (23 Happy Dental Years) and does Excellent Work in Dental Care which is done by the students and supervised by their instructors.
It usually takes three (3) visits to get your cleaning and x-rays done, but it is well worth it.
My student dental hygienist is Alana who is absolutely wonderful and today is My Second (2nd) Visit on Tuesday, April 9, 2019.
I want to personally Thank the staff and Alana at the APLUS Institute for taking care of My Dental Needs and more than look forward to my visit and experience.

I was at Aplus in 2014-2016. It was a good experience for me and all the instructors were very helpful and very kind. I hope all the newbies have a great experience too.
I studied there. Horrible place. The teachers are so disprespectful. They are rude, they are underpaid and very annoyed. One of them throws charts at the students when she is upset. She tries to create problema for you in any possible way. Another one uses racist comments and picks on students she does not like.A very depressing environment. The owner wants money, the chairs are falling apart, everything is so old it barely works. Every week a chair has something broken in it.When something stops working they will blame you and insist that you did something wrong. Thy make you clean the waiting area chairs and desks and the front desk as part of your “monitor” duties because they dont want to hire someone to clean. Do not go to this school. I already graduated but I regret going there.
I had graduated from Aplus school 10 years ago. Director of the Program and the teachers were the most abusive, crazy people you have ever seen “teaching”. The program is already stressful, but the teachers make it worse by their bad attitude, screaming, and abusive behavior. You get really depressed during your time there, I saw a student getting nervous breakdown from a bully teacher. Despite getting poor marks at the clinic, I’m a pretty good clinical Hygienist, dentists/patients praise my work. After graduation, I had nightmares for years. I wish it was different, because I like studying and learning, and always was interested in medical field, it could have been much better experience for everybody.
The institute ’APLUS school of dental hygiene on younge and sheppard is the WORST PLACE to go. The instructors are extremely rude and yes they verbally abuse you. They bully you infront of other students. And of course scream at you if u dont do somethings right. students are in a learning phase but they dont realise that. So in clinic you learn most of the stuff through google and youtube. In class they just read from the powerpoints always in a rush and when you ask them questions they yell at you especially One of the instructors ESTELLE . And in clinic its the same. Estelle also does racism. She wouldnt treat asians in a good way as compare to others. They should be reported to CDHO and private career college ontario. So basically a BIG NO to this school. I would reccomend george brown and missisuaga college of hygiene as they are really professional.

Useless School, Teachers don’t want to help you improve your skills. They just want to embarrass you in front of others. The funniest thing about this school is that you cannot learn you have to be perfect, no learning in school, learn everything before joining the school. Save yourself from financial loss and stress, go to public school.

The administration goes out of their way to have forums for students and to solicit feedback through surveys and whatnot. I can’t say that my undergrad or other grad institution put this much effort into it.

I went this for around 10 months , I would say That it is a great university. The profs really care and there are lots of opportunities for student leadership positions.
APLUS Institute has gotten bigger and better over the years with improved facilities, campus life and much more. A great education at a great value.
The library could be better but most students can do research on-line, so it is mainly a place to study and drink coffee.
Absolutely WORST experience ever. Do NOT go to this school. The faculty is sooo disrespectful. If you complain they don’t even care to change. They disrespect you infront of your clients and other students. A negative environment and very unprofessional. The owner yells at you if you don’t give him a cheque on time. Most unprofessional college!! Don’t waste your money!! They are so mean, rude and unprofessional!! You can’t even talk to them or ask them anythimg, They don’t know how to teach, they don’t have a proper schedule for their tests or even their classes!!!!! The school is so small , there is no quite space to study, they don’t haven’t any computer for students or library, THEY DON’T EVEN HAVE A WASHROOM FOR CLIENTS!!!! very rude and disrespectful professors. I felt I was being verbally abused on a daily basis. It felt more like a slave labor camp than a school. It was the worst 18 months of my life! The owners barely spoke English. They only want your money. It is a business, not a school. They have a very bad reputation. The course quality was very low because they try to squeeze everything into 18 months but there is no guidance or help. They just give you the textbooks and say LEARN. There is no actual teaching involved. Stay AWAY from APLUS Institute!

This is the worst school on planet earth. They are so rude and disrespectful and do not care about their students. They are very unorganized and illogical they lost 3 final exams for students and made them rewrite them. Also they verbally abuse every student and make them cry. The infection control lady Teresa is so rude and gives everyone attitude and Cathy Edson Fraunts thinks she’s a highschool mean girl even clients have complained about these two. Also the owners of the school are very useless because they do not take any matter seriously. The program director is very bipolar and umaprochable. This school will not make it through the next year they will deffinatly get shut down for the misconduct and disrespect they show towards students. So please if you want to go to a actual school try applying to George brown or Toronto college of dental hygiene and auxiliaries these two schools practice professionalism and treat everyone with reapect .

I attended Aplus for 18 months. The instructors are extremely rude and condescending on a daily basis. I would not recommend this school to anyone, there are far better schools in Toronto that one can find. Throughout this program many students felt that the were not ready for the National Board Exam, Beware!
This serves a warning to all dental hygiene students. APLUS Institute in Toronto are thieves, fraud artists, and scammers! Do NOT go there! They will steal your money. They are very dishonest people. Be very careful. Stay far far way from APLUS Institute (Yonge & Sheppard) You will regret it! The director barely speaks English!
This is THE WORST EVER! I’ve obtained my BA and a Post-Graduate Degree so I’m well experienced on how things should run in a school. The teachers are horrible, the Director is even worse! I felt as if I was being verbally abused on a daily basis.
The only good thing about this school is the location as it’s right on the subway line.
