  • Unpleasant disturbing experien says:

After attending this school I will never ever attend anything affiliated with blue cliff again. This school is full of thriving lying and crooked staff. From the dean of students all the way down to the staff. This institution has no organization. Every time I walked in to speak about anything dealing with my information or school details I was given the run around. This school needs to be shut down for good. I should have known something was fishy about this school when I gave a formal resignation and they couldn’t find the letter and fail to made me believe that all of my fees were paid. I will be reporting this school to the highest extinct bc this non sense has to be put to a stop. I regret ever listening or applying to this school and would not recommend anyone who is planning to attend this place to enroll here. Turn to your other options bc you will regret it. I am a humble and well kept person and never ever experienced so much distaste in my life from the staff down to the students. The standards and ethics at this place is not what is written. Horrible

  • Trish Ann says:

This place is a joke. I was told that the cosmetology course would be over 18,000 dollars. She told me that all of my pell grant would go towards the course including my sub and unsub loans. She then states that I could go back and see her after thirty days of class to apply for additional direct plus loan to get a refund. Now as if I’m stupid enough to fall for the okydoke! After thirty days I would be stuck with the cosmetology course bill to pay back. Then she says everyone passes. These females were as ratchet as they come with funky attitudes. They are too over priced and not worth a dime from me. Do not go there! Way too high for a diploma.

I attended the lafayette campus for cosmetology. The school to me was ok. I expected more from what the brochures and tv commericals made it to be. I think they could have done better getting the community and students involved in more activities. So many new staff came in and out.At the end of the day i was just a student and not an employee so im sure they indured alot and also trying to make the school run smoothly.what made me finished was my friends at school. Other than that it was ok but i wouldnt go back. Just explore all your options before attending.

Taylor, the campus director is a liar and a thieving idiot. He’s been not spending the money we pay in tuition on our lab and he blames others. This school and course is a freaking joke!

Just graduated from blue cliff and if I had the choice to do it again I wouldnt. The school is a joke. The administration runs around like a chicken with its head cut off they have no idea what they are doing. It was the worst 15 months of my life. The only reason I finished was the group of students I graduated with and a few teachers that went above their means to make sure we got some sort of education. But for the most part cosmetology is the king of those schools and if you are in any other program expect to get the short end of every stick they have.

Graduated in 2009 I haven’t found a job in that field as of yet! We were promised that they would help us find jobs it did not happened! The teacher was excellent she taught us a lot however the student services sucked! I’m so aggravated about the amount of money that we spent it was like a waste.:-(

Blue Cliff is a scam I am a United State military veteran I attended there got my diplolma and was told that if I get an associate’s degree that it would be covered with my fasfa gi bill and student loan. Well they sent the wrong info to the va generating me a debt, used my fasfa to pay aback a student loan then sent my student laon back and sent me a $5, 000 bill. I’m trying to find a lawyer now.

  • Former Dialysis Tech Student says:

I attended Blue Cliff “College” in Metairie, La, in 2012. When I went to the school to inquire about the program I had a lengthy conversation with the Dialysis Chair. She said that the program would be great for me and promised me a great future in healthcare. I toured the building during a school break, thus I did not see the school in operation. I signed on the dotted line that day, committed to pay approx $15,000 tuition, and eagerly awaited the first day of class. What a shock when school began! There was very little teaching, very little learning, and blatant cheating. The answers to tests were given to us before we took the test, assuring that everyone would pass. We rarely saw our test scores because, I believe, everyone was going to pass the course. Students with multiple absences were allowed to finish the course. This “college” promised us job opportunities upon graduation. However, there wasn’t even enough dialysis centers for our clinical rotation to accommodate all of the students that the “college” took in. As the end of our year approached I watched hundreds of new students pour in to this small building. I wanted to shout, “Turn back while you can. This is a trap.” When I approached the administration and requested a refund of my money, they said that it was too late. Subsequent calls to the front office went unanswered, and when I tried to contact the corporate office in Baton Rouge all I got was an answering machine. I was told by one of my former classmates that not one student who graduated in our class was able to find a job as a dialysis technician. Now, I have a hefty government loan to pay back with no gainful employment as a dialysis technician. I hope that this review helps others avoid this trap. Does anyone know if there is any way to default on this government loan, since this course did not lead to employment?

I totally agree with every comment I have read. I attended the Gulfport Ms location, and my whole time there was a nightmare. The instructors are very unprofessional, and I’m pretty sure that something fishy was going on in the financial aid dept. I attended classes for six months but kept getting told that it wasn’t time for a stipend request to revive my disbursements for financial aid. I have never seen a school that can make a person wait that long to receive payments’. I eventually had to drop classes due to financial hardship, I spoke to anyone at the school that I thought might be able to steer me in the right direction but I was just left feeling like I made a huge mistake enrolling in this joke of a college.

All the above reviews seem to be right on!
the Alexandria Louisiana campus is a joke also!!!

Do not attend this over priced scam

The teachers literally do not teach and half the time we sit in class eating and talking

They rob financial aid from the government

14K for this BS is a joke!!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT GO TO BLUE CLIFF COLLEGE ANYWHERE!!!!

  • Before classes even started says:

They are a scam. There commercial is full of crap. If you are trying out anything other than their massage therapy program, I advice you to run away. You would expect that since you are signing up for the medical assistant program that their class rooms would be half way decent looking. The people look dirty, their class room looks dirty and they seem to carry themselves unprofessional. I have read these reviews ahead of time and since i have a child the schedule for medical assistant was going to be a problem, so i am trying to un-enroll my self from this college. But they are not answering my calls, sending me straight to voicemail. I see i am going to have to go there in person. They are too expensive and their classrooms do not even look approval-able, better yet representable of a medical assistant program. I felt bullied to sign up and i regret even making the trip to the facility. I will check back in to tell you more about to progress and i advice others to never sign up for this ghetto ass school!

  • Former Student says:

I agree 100% with the other reviews. I was pretty much forced to look for another school because the administration is a joke. They can never give you a precise answer. The Director of the Lafayette Campus is unprofessional and makes sure she gets “respect” by intimidating students and teachers. There’s only a couple teachers who I enjoyed learning from. We are pretty much forced to do clinic hours above what is stipulated in the handbook. We need 35 hours of clinic per term and they want you to be there 3 Saturdays a month besides your Thursday clinics. If you attend only all the scheduled Thursday classes you will complete 44 hours, “which is fine because it’s nice to work beyond the minimum and have more practice. However when you do almost double of your clinic hours without any extra credits it becomes an issue because then you are basically doing free labour. We were told if we didn’t come to the Saturday clinic’s we would fail.
So how is that possible when you already have the clinic hours needed? Well now that there are so many complaints about the school they want to try to change the things they have said and do the “sweet talk”. They teach you that you need to always have documentation of all your clients but they bring high school kids without their parents and say that you are the parents consent and that there’s no need to document anything. Really? What kind of professionals are you teaching us to be and if they don’t need consent why not show us proof of their age?
Apparently we need to be treated with the “hammer” like the director says if we don’t follow the rules. I know there’s always students everywhere that are problematic but there’s professional ways to speak to students. If you have students who are not following the rules, deal with them individually. The ones who came to study, learn and graduate don’t need to be belittled because of your past experiences.
We are all adults and not little kids that need to be intimidated to make sure we follow the rules. It seems that all that matters at this school is making money and not education. This school has the potential to be a great one but until they change the administration and hire actual professional people things will remain the same.

  • CURRENT MA STUDENT says:

The above reviews are right on. I have had nothing but problems since beginning school. I went in to just get info about the Medical assisting program, I got very little info, I guess you could say I was kind of bullied into applying. The Rep said “Don’t you want to continue your education, what in the world do you have holding you back. Nothing but time.” She made it seem like now was the only time I could register. Just very demeaning when she was trying to get me to enroll. Then when you went to see the financial aid, that was a joke. She couldn’t break down how things were billed or where my money was going, nor could she tell me if I would be receiving any money. After, starting school and it was time to apply for a stipend, I was told I would receive like $1200.00 and only received $400. THe teachers, with the exception of a couple, were ridiculous. No educational background other than being nurses or doctors. Read straight from the book. Some were belittling to the students. Saying things that did not need to be said. Telling us “THis is why I’m behind this podium and you are at the desk!” Would not help us to understand things we didn’t. Probably because they didn’t understand it either. The Assistant Director preaches about professionalism, that is a big joke. He provided us a wonderful example of professionalism one evening when our teacher was late because of traffic. She walked in the building and he yelled her asking where the heck she was and why was she late. She explained the reason, then he got pissed off and slammed our classroom door behind him. Yeah, real professional. We get promised things that never happen. I do not feel that the education I am receiving her is going to help me. I have a great job and am finishing school because I have to show my teenage children that I can finish something I started and how getting a real college education is very beneficial.

  • Former Student(PLEASE READ!) says:

Like the previous poster has stated, this program is a complete scam. Most of the instructors have sub-par education at best and can not answer direct questions and concerns. Many of the instructors cannot even spell let alone understand the complexities of the human organism. As a student, you are not to question the authority of an exam distributor. During my time on campus, this caused others and myself to lose points on tests because the instructor’s lack of competency.
Classroom education lacked the feel of a professional environment. The instructors had conflicting point of views on massage and this became very confusing. I learned more about massage therapy from Youtube.com and Massagenerd.com. than I have in my time of formal education. The teachers seemed to lack in overall technique, relied on theories about massage that were not scientifically validated, and were often unprepared for the day. Classroom materials were almost nonexistent and many of our luxuries were hand-me-downs from the administration.
The office staff has a lack of professionalism that I have never witnessed in a place of business. They are disruptive during classroom hours, unorganized, and are in constant meetings when needed. The financial aide department does not explain contracts in a manner that is clear to the signer and answer questions in a way that benefits them and leaves the client completely in the dark about their financial obligations.
Overall, this school is a complete waste of money. The educational value is poor, the monetary value is absurd, and the real life experience is slim. If you are going to spend money to attend school, choose a program that has a professional staff because this place has an ever-changing team that doesn’t understand what it takes to run a school.

  • Concerned says:

My interview process started with the hopes that my technical training would lead me in getting a meaningful career in only nine months. ‘Massage therapist’ is what I hoped I was gearing towards before I began at a university for nursing. Throughout the process of explaining what Blue Cliff College was about (I was only there for a tour), the emphasis was focused on the “fact” that their tuition cost was soon to rise, but if I hurried, I would get to attend school at the current rate. This was established several times during the interview. Being that the cost was over $14,000 I felt it was in my interest to get the lower cost. I was also told the campus would be moving to a more spacious and sanitary enviroment as my first semester was coming to a close. Being that my allergies are terrible, this was an extreme plus. As the interview process went on, I was given the impression that the school’s schedule was quite flexible.
    I began my education in a small, dingy room. There was not enough seats for the students. The floors were absolutely filthy and possessed various forms of gunk. My allergies immediately began to show signs of discomfort. I began to sweat due to the fact that it was still summer and the air conditioning unit was not on and upon request, the staff said it was not possible for the air conditioning system to be turned on. Along with this, this room was dark and lit only by the windows of the room (the blinds were later closed due to the extreme heat). I did my work mostly in the dark; uncomfortable from the heat and the onset of allergy symptoms I was experiencing. During my interview, the staff member I spoke to looked out of their office window as a group of students were passing and acknowledged them with a brief statement;
“It’s only 11 o’clock and their already done for the day.”
I would soon learn that this was also a lie. It was their lunch and they were to return as the newer student body was reminded repetitively that we signed a contract that would keep us in school from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It resonated against the room as some sort of childish threat and the adolescent atmosphere did not cease from that point.
My first month of school played host to a teacher leaving and not being replaced accordingly; a rude, obnoxious, and uncertified teacher’s assistant; another teacher lost due to termination (an administrator filled the position); and one teacher for four classes. I sat through incredibly long classes in which the teacher simply read from the book, mispronouncing key words as they went along. The staff could not answer questions and seemed confused at times along with the students.
As my second month came into view, I was already very sick and had encountered several visits to various doctors. My body was marked with hives and my throat felt tight almost constantly. Because of a heart defect, I can not use an epinephrine pen. I was also dealing with severe TMJ, and cyclic vomiting syndrome. Through this, I was able to keep up with my work (which was gernally the same routine for everything) and called Blue Cliff and explained them my situation. The person I talked to seemed willing to help me and assured me they would. I was told to wait for a phone call that I am still waiting on and can not return to school. The sanitaion conditions are horrible and are a direct danger to my well-being. The only room that is cleaned is the front office and during a hydrotherapy course, the teacher was trying to remember to tell the office to “pass a vaccum” in the room because there was paraffin wax everywhere.
I wouldn’t recommend this school to my worst enemy. I feel dishonesty is a sign of a person with no honor. Because this has become the hallmark of this school, it is was place without honor. Currently, I have been told three seperate occassions the school will be moving; next month, next January, and March. I have also been told by students about to graduate that they were told they wouldn’t be in that building for long. I’m not holding my breath…
