I will not recommend CCAD to anyone. I spent my freshmen year at this school and it did not live up to it’s promises or my expectations.

The housing staff, to put it plainly, are incompetent. A student was harassing me mercilessly, I couldn’t even eat dinner without him loudly attacking me in public. He and his friends continued to attack me on Twitter as well. Jenn Bermudez’s response, when she finally replied to my emails requesting help, was to have a “mediated conversation.” It was her, myself, an RA, another victim of this bully, and the bully. During this the bully walked all over everyone once he realized Bermudez wasn’t going to enforce the rules she laid out beforehand. He was allowed to talk over everyone else and continue to attack me with her sitting right next to him. The result of all this was a bullsh!t contract that we all were going to “tolerate” each other. No, that’s not how it works. I should never have had to put up with being attacked in the first place, and now I have to “tolerate” it? I was appalled by my treatment during this whole issue. If housing staff is unwilling to enforce the student code of conduct what good is it in the first place.

The other issue I had was that several professors cannot even communicate in English. My drawing professor was an Iranian immigrant, who despite having been here for 30 years could not speak English clearly! It was always a guessing game of what he wanted you to do for homework and in class. And at one point he even yelled at me, for following his directions. He had assigned a drawing of a single object, which I completed a drawing of a single object. He then went on to humiliate me on front of the class for only using one object in my composition. Never mind the fact that everyone turned in the same thing, a drawing of a single object, but were not chewed out publicly.

I was extremely disappointed by this school, and maybe fooled by the slick advertising and campus visits. Save your time and your money, cause all they want is your money.

    Overall Score: (2.09/5.00)
