  • where do i start.. i went to initial visit two months ago, the advisers were mean and didnt want you to leave until you took some test and talked to admissions. they wont talk to you about anything until you do. so after i did that i decided that i would go to their dental assisting program, classes to start october 8, 2012. on september 27th i get a phone call that the school has decided to no- longer offer the program and i would get my application fee back. well what about my career? my time? my life? no what am i suppose to do? there arent any other colleges that offer this until march of 2013. and to top it off they wont tell you what happen just give you the run around.

  • this school is pulling some serious financial aid garbage. when you complain to the student advisor, you are told to mind your own business. if you think that someone is scamming, report them asap. tax payers are footing the bill for people getting pell grants who shouldn’t be getting pell grants.

  • The Campus on 73rd ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!!! I was only there for 3 months and changed teachers 3 times!! The first two taught the medical basics, that everyone goes through, and were good. The next teacher, however, was the most idiotic, useless teacher I’ve ever come across. Not only was she more concerned about telling us about her personal life, but she also caused one student to bring in a gun because NO ONE was willing to help her. She was always TOO busy talking about her ‘BIPOLAR BOYFRIEND” when in all reality she’s the one that’s bipolar. Her way of teaching was to read out of the book and make us do assignments. Not only can I keep my $15000 and teach myself, but she would flip out if someone said that they didn’t understand the material. When numerous students decided to go to the president about this, we were directed back to class and to accept her way of teaching. I think this campus is more concerned about taking peoples money than anything else. SCREW THIS SCHOOL!!

  • After contacting some Kaplan graduates I learned that Kaplan 73rd street college had different teachers all the way thru the course in all the classes. That the new teachs did not know what to teach cause didn’t know where the old teachs left off. That many were bullied into putting down a ridiculous amount on thier contribution before thier fafsa came back. Their fafsa many times stated 0.00 amount they were to contribute. Therefore when they could not pay it they were kicked out of school. After all when you have kids and go to school 4 hours mon thru fri… That the old teachers went to the Kaplan on South US 31 or Southern Plaza campus. The southern plaza campus is listed on Nelnets loan site. 73rd street is not. The ones I talked to that got thru it admid all the adversity only commited to $50 a month contribution and said they learned a lot because of the course and hands on but felt anxious and lost most of the time. That Kaplan is not affiliated with as many hospitals. That they could not seem to find her an externship after graduating. I wanted to attend North campus for convenience but will have to think about the South campus now. Medtech I hear and have yet to check out is affiliated with more hospitals and medical practices then Kaplan no matter what campus.

  • I am still trying to fiqure out what happened today at my initial visit. The administration staff were bullys to say the least. The main bully who’s title was financial aid administrator insisted I ” had too” fill out the amount of family contribution before I even filled out my fafsa. Then they said I had to use Sally Mae or one of 2 other government loan companies. That I could not use Nelnet or any of the other 6 or 7 student loan companies on the form. What gives here?
