The University of Memphis is a wonderful place to get an education, and a great school in the heart of a vibrant city in the Mid-South, Memphis, Tennessee. Memphis is a wonderful place because the teachers and faculty genuinely want the students to succeed, and they are eager to have the students do well on tests and papers, helping them out and improving their thinking and cognitive processes with every passing class.
In addition, Memphis is very affordable for every student involved on campus, since it is a public, in-state school that attracts many different students on in-state tuition rates, allowing them to graduate with very low student loans and very little debt. Memphis provides work opportunities for students who need them, too, so that no student goes without a job on campus and every student can make money while attending classes and improving their lives.
Furthermore, Memphis has a host of extracurricular and intervarsity activities and electives, and students can participate in a wide range of clubs. No matter your interest or background, Memphis is sure to have a club, organization, or sports team that meets your needs, piques your interest, or makes you want to join to enjoy your time in college with your friends.
In addition, Memphis has a host of amazing academic programs, from journalism and public relations within the College of Communication and Fine Arts, to biology and other scientific programs, and even a growing theater school that is sure to attract a great deal of students as it improves itself every semester.
Memphis also boasts sports teams – a Division I roster of football and basketball talent on campus means that you don’t have to go very far to watch high quality sports, or to enjoy the on campus festivities every Friday and Saturday night with a big game in town.
Memphis is in the heart of Memphis, not too far from Beale Street, and very close to downtown and the Mississippi River. For students, it is quite affordable and a very affordable place to live and make a home as they work and go to school, enjoying the night life the town offers and enjoying all that the campus is made up of and surrounding.
The only issue is that the neighborhoods around the campus can occasionally be a bit dangerous, and many students are fearful of armed robberies and muggings, as they can sometimes be common and frequent around the school. Memphis must do more to alleviate those muggings and make it so that their campus is safer for everyone, at any time of day or night.
Regardless, Memphis is a wonderful place to learn and develop as a person, and it is certainly a place to get a great education, live in a fascinating city, and work around some of the coolest and most compelling faculty members and professors in the world. Memphis is a place to pin your hat on higher education, and definitely the best place to get a college degree; Go Tigers Go!
